Update 1.10

Today we are presenting the 1.10 version of Hex Defense.
We've polished up plenty of late game mechanics, that we think will blend easier for those who want to make high scores in each level.

Patch notes:

  • Removed hints from the controllers.
  • Modified and balanced the spawn ratios according to waves.
  • Improved proyectile collisions.
  • Spawners that will become active the upcoming wave are now displayed in white.
  • Tweaked oculus controller animations.

Update 1.07

Update 1.07



Today we are releasing the version 1.07 of Hex Defense.
Plenty of minor adjustments and bugfixes were addressed.

Here are the patch notes:

  • Updated the version of SteamVR to 2.2;
  • This fixed the issue regarding the controllers being duplicated once pressing the steam menu.
  • The local movement is now more dynamic.
  • Corrected glitch in towers upon creation.
  • Improved enemy AI, this will lower the late game fps drops.

Release! + Hotfix.

Today we are presenting the version 1.0 of Hex Defense.





Patch notes:

  • Optimized batching draws. The game will run 15/20 % faster depending on graphic card and HMD used.
  • Upon level completion the player will be able to continue playing to climb the leaderboard.
  • Spawners will show hints upon inminent activation.
  • Fixed bindings for the vive controllers.
  • Changed minor graphical settings.
  • Improved pathfinding on enemy AI. Reduced the chance of traffic jam.
  • Fixed glitch in Player collider.

Hotfix 1.02



  • Corrected major problem on leaderboard localization.
  • Corrected visual glitch in asteroid level causing unusable tiles.
  • Leaderboards will be updated in real time while playing, not at the end of level anymore.


Starting monday 18th, we'll start working on the 1.1 update.

Beta 0.98

Well it's time to get some scores up and running!


Leaderboards were implemented this afternoon in the Beta 0.98.

Patch notes:



  • Added Steam Leaderboards for all 6 maps. You can be the best in one of them!
  • Added ambient oclussion for ultra and high settings.
  • Corrected graphical glitch in some machine guns towers.
  • Added lava burst to the Volcano Level.
  • Added Dust ambiance effect to the Volcano Level.
  • Corrected unwanted reflections in rocks.
  • Added quality settings menu.
  • Rebinded the Oculus Touch controllers.
  • Corrected Touch controllers hovers.
  • Changed texture of Touch controllers.

Beta 0.95

The Beta 0.95 stable is out now!





Plenty of work has been acomplished during the crunch time pre-release.
Without further to say here are the patch notes:

  • The final version of the holographic table is now live.
  • Added mini version of the main UI to the left controller.
  • Added life bar to enemies.
  • Added bar that represents the lenght of the current stage.
  • Polished up run animation in mech.
  • Polished up collider for one of the spiders mechs.
  • Removed the left controller hovers.

Beta 0.92

Today we are finally releasing the Beta Stable 0.92.



Yesterday the beta opt-in was closed, so if you've got picked you'll probably receive a copy of the game during the weekend.

Plenty of content was added to the game, so without further rambling here are the patch notes:

  • Added extra informational panel to the start of the game.
  • Interfaces will now change in real time depending on energy available.
  • A radius display is now shown on the hex when selecting towers to purchase.
  • Selecting a tower will display its radius, hovering on the upgrade button will show the potential radius of the upgraded tower.
  • Major improvement to the Vive controllers precision. (We are going to revamp the Oculus next week)
  • Local rotation changed to the right controller. Use the Grip and Hover on the right controller to rotate.
  • The Holographic table height can be changed interacting with the borders.
  • Added more information on the Level Selection panels.
  • Corrected minor visual glitches.

Road to Release and Demo!

With the full release upcoming, we've been working hard in the Studio to get everything done in time.

It's been a long couple of weeks polishing up graphic details, correcting errors in AI, and last but not least we are presenting 3 new enemy units that were added to the current build instead of the first patch after release: MECHS.

We've decided to add a free Demo for those who want to try out the basic gameplay mechanics.



Patch notes:

  • Corrected glitch of AI getting stuck on corners.
  • Added 3 enemy mechs units.
  • Corrected UI timings.
  • Improved collision for enemies.
  • Changed the texture of the Volcano.
  • Improved lava texture in the Volcano.
  • Ambiance fog is now added to the Swamp.
  • Added custom sound to enemy soldiers upon death.


We are going to keep on polishing up the final version and we hope to hear from you guys!

Free Beta Access starting on Monday 21 of Jan until 31 of Jan.





We've are very happy to announce after 4 months into development of Hex Defense, we are officially in BETA.
As we are slowly approaching the end of development state of the game we would love to hear YOUR feedback before the official release on FEBRUARY.
We are taking in BETA testers to enjoy the game and report feedback through the community forums.
