HoloBall Multiplayer Beta is Live!

After a long wait, HoloBall PvP is finally ready for beta testing!

We're looking for people to help us test the beta over the next couple of days, and we will be going live to the public this weekend!

If you're interested in joining the beta, and are able to put in some time testing:

  • Download the latest steam build
  • Please post any feedback here, on reddit or on our steam forums
  • Thanks for your help, it's greatly appreciated!

Multiplayer Features:

  • Matches consist of 3 rounds, win 2 rounds to take the match
  • First to 6 pts wins a round, but you must win by 2
  • You can adjust your "Evil AI" voice in the lobby (activate the checkbox to hear yourself)
  • There are 2-week "seasons", ending every Sunday. If you collect enough points, you can earn a trophy for the season. We will be adding leaderboards soon.
  • When playing someone ranked below you, you will earn less points, and vice versa.
  • Tractor-Beam is disabled in multiplayer
  • Dead Balls will count as a point for your opponent


Version 1.9.3: Full German Localization

Germany was our most popular non-English territory, so we wanted to say thanks by giving you guys a fully localized version of the game.

Just posting this because our audio files finally came in. Next update will be the multiplayer beta, we promise :)

Version 1.9.2: Japanese and Simplified Chinese localization

We've posted a small update:
* Added Simplified Chinese
* Added Japanese (including audio!)
* Upgraded to Unity 5.5.2p4

Coming soon will be German and Traditional Chinese.

Regarding multiplayer, we know many of you are anxiously awaiting it. The beta is extremely closed to being finished, and we hope to release it sometime in April.

Hey guys, it's been a long time since the last update. We've been hard at work on optimizing performance and adding multiplayer.

The multiplayer beta is just around the corner, but in the meantime, please enjoy this new update that brings a lot of subtle improvements, big fixes and balancing tweaks.

Apologies for the very buggy release last week, thanks to all the testers who reported bugs and helped us diagnose the issues.

Update #1.4

Sorry this update took so long, it started out as simply adding achievements and just grew and grew!

In this version we totally overhauled the paddle physics, and put much more emphasis on your swing speed (no more wrist-flick garbage!). Due to the new physics, we had to completely re-balance all game modes, which was pretty scary considering the positive feedback we'd already received. Hopefully it's still as fun!

Additionally, we weren't happy with the sweet spot implementation, it was way too easy to score with weak shots on your serve. Now, sweet spots are hidden when you're serving, and they only appear after the AI hits the ball. Problem solved :)

There's many more changes, including a custom game mode, daily leaderboards, local leaderboards and much more!

It's a large update, and we're a small team, so we do expect some bugs. Please let us know in the forums if you find any. Also, please let us know how you like the new balancing. Too hard? Too easy?

Update #1: Spectator Mode & 2nd Screen Multiplayer

First off, we wanted to say thanks for everyone for an amazing launch day! Sales exceeded our best expectations, and we're really proud that you all seem to be enjoying HoloBall so much!

The first update is a small one, which restores Spectator Mode and 2nd Screen Asymetrical multiplayer.

* Press [ C ] to cycle available Spectator Cameras
* Press [ SPACE ] to take control of the AI, once you take control of the AI, you can move him arround with [ WASD ]
* Press [ F ] to return to the default first person cam.
