Patch 1.0.1 is now LIVE!
Hey guys!
We just wanted to let everybody know that our first update is now LIVE! We have made some tweaks to the game in regards to balancing and bug fixes. Also, we have taken some of your suggestions and implemented them into the game!
For one, we have removed the $tarch price for putting your spuds in therapy! Also, we have made it a little easier to traverse through the shield portion of the tutorial.
Another major addition to the game was the Chinese translation, meaning the game will now be available in Chinese (simplified) as well! In addition, we ever so slightly polished up the translations for Japanese, Russian, and Polish.
Lastly, we have added Linux support to the game!
For a detailed changelog of everything included in Patch 1.0.1, we have outlined everything below.
Fixed some issues with regards to objectives in a late-game galaxy
Fixed some phase transition issues in some Boss Fights.
Fixed text that was showing up incorrectly in Random Encounters and Skills.
Fixed some issues with displaying the wrong sprite in some situations with random encounters and battles.
Upgrades
The initial boosts for the Training Room and Crafting Workshop now occur at Level 3
Weapons
Fixed an issue with the Primordial Starfall not performing its intended effect while Aether is active.
Cutscenes
Fixed an issue that sometimes caused characters to display strangely when skipping cutscenes to various junctures where a choice by the player is required.
Balance Tweaks Exploration
Tweaked the rates at which some Choice Encounters occur
“Traffic Jam” should occur less often now.
Generally increased the damage dealt by punishing choices
Generally increased the rewards given from Choice Encounters
Generally increased the rewards given from completing Explorations
Research
All Research Costs have been rebalanced across the board in order to make it generally less easy to obtain high tier Researches until later in the game.
Bosses
Reduced a certain boss’ difficulty by approximately 20%, particularly in terms of health and skill damage.
Improved the weapon health of a few bosses.
Added an additional phase for the Necronomicon boss.
Increased Max Charge for the Necronomicon boss so that it can now fire up to 2 weapons simultaneously from time to time
Changed some completion rewards for yet another boss.
Phase transitions for a certain other boss have been revised.
Weapons
All weapons' attack tweaked across the board, especially for Unique weapons that Hit All and apply debuffs/buffs. Typically, weapons that apply multiple debuffs/buffs should do more damage now.
Robbing Hood's Charge Cost has been increased by 1, which also increases damage by about 10%.
Luna's Aegis now heals for 100% of its attack rather than 50%.
Other Changes
Hub Planet appearance will now change from galaxy to galaxy.
Added a highlight on the corresponding shield button in order to make the tutorial easier to follow.
Reduced the speed at which battle rewards appear and disappear from the screen, which should allow a little more time to read it.
Removed $tarch Cost for Trauma
Some overall graphic improvements for various skills and weapons.

Linux Release and Chinese Localization
Hey everyone,
We are only a couple of hours away from release! We are all super excited here at Daylight Studios even though it is nearing midnight :D
I know this announcement is last minute and it comes with a heavy heart that we have to say this, but due to some unforeseen circumstances we have had to push back the release date of the Linux version of Holy Potatoes! We're in Space?! Although we have thoroughly tested on Linux, there are still a few critical bugs that occur here and there and we cannot justify releasing it at the same time as the Mac and Windows versions. Having said that, we are still testing the ever living spud out of it and it should be released sooner rather than later.
As for the Chinese (Simplified) localization, there have been some complications with it and we have determined that the quality of it is just not up to par, so we will also have to push this back and it will not be released with the game in a couple hours. All other languages are accounted for and will be available as soon as the game comes out though!
Thanks again to everyone for all the support and we are sorry we have had to push a couple of things back, but we are still super excited and looking forward to releasing Holy Potatoes! We're in Space?! in a couple hours :D
