🫢 Haven't talked about the Community Contests in a long while!
Today we wanna go for a bit of a Community Contest discussion, a nice little topic to focus on before the next contest arrives! ːbessie_uwuː
We'd like to talk about the 2 recent ones, the "Monster Mansion" and the "Coziest Christmas" contests, as well as hear your ideas about the contest that's coming along with the March update! So, when it comes to picking the winners of the Community Contests, it gets harder and harder as we're constantly experiencing our community reaching new levels of creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. The moment when you go through a house built by one of the contestants, you stare at a specific part of the project and you're like "wow... wait... how did they even build that??"... such a great feeling that is! ːbessie_loveː

We feel like projects with a noticeably high level of attention to detail are the ones that shine the brightest! Both the recent contests were extremely competitive, and we can't wait to see more!
🎅 The Coziest Christmas Community Contest:
1. Old Rich Christmas by surdegen1230 Xmas vibes overflow but in an outstanding style! Soooo many details and unique ideas! The environmental storytelling is there too! The looks are awesome, capturing the warm and cozy Christmas vibes perfectly. The best fit for the theme!
2. Xmas at Santa! by ImSoff A bunch of interesting ideas and elements. What would be more Christmasy if not a night at Santa's place? Huge attention to detail mixed with a solid design and great execution! The proper vibes are there too, making this another great fit for this contest!
3. Not even a mouse. by birbiegorl Cozy, fantastically looking, and has a spinning Christmas tree! We really appreciated how some of the inner walls were made, what an awesome detail! The whole interior design regarding decorations and some style altering between different rooms is great to see!
4. Cozy Christmas Tudor by jessfess27 Awesome usage of the environment! The little Christmas fair, the tree house, and the houses around which have some Christmas decor on them! Lovely choice of colors and a fantastic feel for the amount and placement of all the decorations! So cozy!
5. Home for the Holidays This project proves that you don't need extreme ideas in order to stand out, you can do that with quality instead! This house feels so lived in, and the quality of it lies in all the little details you see everywhere around. Beautiful, cozy, Xmasy, great job!
👻 The Monster Mansion Community Contest:
1. Bloodthorn Manor by RooseGarden The versatility here is insane! Every aspect of this project presents an outstanding level of detail, and that's what led us to this choice. The outer shell, the environment setup, the interior with secret rooms, and a bloody vampiric story vibes! We strongly believe that bigger doesn't mean better, but it's hard to avoid appreciating the sheer size of the Bloodthorn Manor.
2. The Scholar's Mansion by A_Mushroomm We couldn't believe it when we saw the little details regarding the story of this place! Don't mess with the demons! The house itself feels nicely executed and incredibly well synchronized with its story background. The overall vibe of this project resonates really well with what the Monster Mansion Contest was about!
3. Nightshade Hollow by Wabsie Incredibly unique! The little ghost butler's hands performing different actions, and the usage of lava-induced structures made this idea really stand out. Everything fits the theme and again presents a very high level of attention to detail.
4. Mary's Mansion by Bunny_Bananya Surprisingly bloody... and awesome! Make sure to find the underground secrets! The little stains that function as a form of navigation are something we strongly appreciate! On top of that the architecture of this project is very stylish.
5. Coffee Creature's Dwelling by jessfess27 Another great story to uncover! You can really feel the consistency of the project, everything fits right in! We loved seeing all the details outside the main house, and the interesting + super stylish choice of colours!
6. Haunted Hill by Ninjahd055 Interesting project with a huge bunch of spooky elements. The blood trails guide you through all the little story pieces, but you can also see how much work went into the environment creating an eerie atmosphere. Great fit for the theme!
7. The Haunted Sinclair House by IloveMaidboys The dark vibes hit you hard with this one! Creating old and damaged houses takes a lot of skill to do properly and requires some serious attention to detail. Really good execution of an old haunted spooky building, with a bit of a monster story thrown in as well!
8. The Hunted Scrolls of Stonehaven Manor by surdegen1230 We loved the outer shell, great style! The area around the house is nice and detailed, and we get to play a little game about finding all the missing scrolls! Creative and well built!
9. Shadow Hills by Vick84 Solid aesthetics, both regarding the inside and outside. The project fits the theme very well, bringing you more spooky vibes! Can you follow the trail and find the hidden cave?
10. Baba Yagas Hut by H2887 We saw this idea already, but turning it into a spookier version worked well! With a bit of a story included, this house feels like a proper fit for the theme, and amazes the viewer with the details!

As mentioned, we're planning to start the next contest on the day of our next Major Update release which comes somewhere in March! We can already see a couple of promising themes for it, like a spring/gardening theme (pretty much the theme of the update) or something related to April Fool's Day!

🤔 "What's next for House Flipper 2?"
That's a question we get a lot from all around our social media channels, and so to properly showcase what we're currently working on, we're bringing you the third House Flipper 2 Roadmap!
This one will show you the content planned for the first half of 2025. As always, if you have any questions, let us know in the comments below!
Our very next step is the Spring Update! It's going to be a big one, bringing you the long-awaited Before/After Gallery, as well as resurrecting the fan-favorite Lawnmower! (sneak peeks coming soon!)
We also made sure to listen to the community of Flippers on our Canny.io Feature Board and included some of the most popular requests! (marked with a green highlight!)
For now, our goal is to properly prepare the Spring Update for its release in March. Keep in mind that the content listed on the roadmap regarding this update is just the main part of it, there are a bunch of smaller bits and pieces coming along.
We will definitely be revisiting our new roadmap in quite a few future posts once the time comes! For now, we know that lots of eyes will be turned on the HF Franchise Birthday event coming in May, and rightfully so! The event will bring some huge House Flipper 2 DLC news, as well as the full release of our Co-op mode! (that's currently available to all of you during the playtests!) Along with the co-op mode, we'll be bringing a free DLC, specifically designed for those of you who enjoy flipping with your friends and family, but the solo players will also be able to enjoy the included content. Stay tuned!
🎨 Dreampainters - our most recent side-project announcement!
A first-person game, where you travel through your dreams trying to solve puzzles using paints of different colors and abilities, inspired by games such as Portal, Superliminal, and Viewfinder!

😍 CO-OP OPEN BETA is now fully LIVE! 🎬
Remember how we recently started the Co-op Open Beta? We gave our players an option to join our tests of the Co-op Feature in House Flipper 2, letting them sign up for it through Steam, but it just got so much easier!
👀 We're going all in, no more sign-ups required!
Every House Flipper 2 player now has the Co-op Mode unlocked! You can just open the game, and the Co-op button should already be there in your main menu! Remember that the Co-op Mode is fully cross-platform (you can play together with PlayStation and Xbox flippers), and works with up to 4 players!

Worry not Flippers! The Co-op Mode Open Beta testing phase will last until the full release of the Co-op feature in May! Remember it's a testing phase, which means occasional bugs or crashes are something to expect, and something we (the devs) are looking for! If you encounter any problems, make sure to let us know. We gotta polish this feature as much as possible before we release the full version.

Oh my, this title is already so exciting! Here's the last couple of months of our work! We love bringing you holiday-themed updates, and this year, our ambitious plan was to put in extra effort to also give you a chance to play House Flipper 2 together with your loved ones just before the Winter Holidays! 💖

Changes:
• New perk ('Just like dominoes') for tiling in a straight line, along with improvements to this mechanic! • All lights have a new light mode - RGB. • Brushed aluminium has expanded its colour palette. • You can now skip a single line of text messages during the job summary • Houses requiring completion of specific jobs are now locked with a padlock in the On Sale tab. • Items on quest lists are now much better organized ;)
Fixes:
• Resolved a bug causing screen blur and game freezing when accessing materials in the store with the Flipper tool, which were unavailable in Story Mode. • Custom pictures with overly long file paths are now ignored to prevent infinite loading.
Co-op changes:
• First batch of third-person-perspective animations for Story mode. • A brand new lobby screen. • Cross-play! Play with friends from other platforms! • The co-op region is now part of the lobby code. • You can now see what the other player is buying in the store, before they place the item. • A pop-up now appears when a connection is rejected due to mismatched cross-play settings between the host and client.
Co-op fixes:
• The client sees quests while playing Custom Jobs in Sandbox mode. • Trash bags no longer stick to the player (at last). • Full trash bags cannot be taken from the player holding them. • Job emails are no longer accessible when playing Custom Jobs in Sandbox mode. • Windows cannot be opened if they are being cleaned by another player.
🎁 The Co-op Open Beta is here, and all the House Flipper 2 players are invited!
We feel like that's a BIG one! The Winter Update might be even cooler when flipping together with others! Up to 4-players! Remember you need to own House Flipper 2 in order to join the beta!
To join in, you only have to go to the House Flipper 2 Steam Store Page, find the "Join the HF2 - Co-op Playtest" field, and click the "Request Access" button there:
The access should be granted instantly! Remember that these are the beta tests for the full release of the Co-op Feature, bugs and crashes may be happening!
👀 The first House Flipper 2 DLC will be FREE and based around CO-OP!
This DLC will bring a special set of brand-new houses and jobs tailored specifically towards cooperation enthusiasts. Whether you’re on PC or console, with the planned cross-platform support, up to four players will be able to team up in both story and sandbox modes!
We will definitely talk more about this one in the upcoming months. Stay tuned!
🎅 The Coziest Christmas Community Contest is LIVE!
Just imagine the most Christmassy Christmas ever! Fancy decorations all around, a truly magnificent tree, tons of presents, and festive lights everywhere you look? Take that and multiply it by 10, that's the clue of this contest!
We're going back to the roots and we prepared a "shell" structure for you to work with. Are you enough of a Christmas enjoyer to impress the developers with an unseen level of Holly Jolly atmosphere?

The winter season is getting wild so here we come with the final Major Update of 2024 that will allow you to start your Christmas preparations in House Flipper 2! We have quite a lot of stuff for ya, both content and news-wise. Let's unwrap the presents and see what's inside:
🎁 The "Cozy Christmas" Update comes on December 12!
We're delivering a sweet chunk of content to make your snowy house designs possible! On December 12, you'll be able to download the update for free, go through a detailed patch-notes list, and hang out with us on the Xmas dev stream! A new Community Contest is also on the way!
So the first thing to show you should be snow... LOTS OF SNOW!

📢 The final major DLC for the original House Flipper launched this week!
🍔 Dine Out DLC for House Flipper 1 just came out!
It might be one of the most intriguing and innovative DLCs for HF1, make sure to check it out, especially if House Flipper 1 still holds a place in your heart! ❤️
The "Renting" feature looks great! Instead of selling your flipped properties, select a rent price and receive a steady flow of money while renting.
The team at Frozen Way also made sure to update the base game along with this DLC release, so even if Dine Out DLC is not something you were looking forward to, maybe a couple of free new features might look worthwhile:
A good example would be the fact that now you can reset houses from your office in case something goes wrong or you simply want to repeat it. If you do so, you’ll be refunded 60% of the money spent on that house.
🔥 November was an HF1 month, but in December, HF2 steals the spotlight!
