6.10.2016 Patch Notes

Along with the AI fixes from earlier today, here are some more fixes:

  • MISSION: Fixed bug where bonus is awarded on main objective fail
  • MISSION: Fixed elusive double-pod bug
  • MISSION: THE TEMPLAR has extra defenders on Warlord/Harbinger
  • CONTROLS: Implemented separate "Targeting Radial" action
  • VR: Fixed VR holodeck and performance hitch whenever transitioning from tactical to cockpit, sometimes seemed like a memory leak. This had to do with TrackIR trying to load when it shouldn't.
  • UI: Increased width and size of offscreen objective indicators so you can track them better

More controls work is ongoing, but some of it requires significant code changes, so hang tight.

AI Update - 6.10.2016

Howdy!

This update mainly focuses on some AI bugs that have cropped up. If you've noticed any weirdness with AI not obeying orders in some situations, that should be fixed.

Here is a list of what changed:

  • Several small AI targeting fixes (mostly in the targeting matrix)
  • AI: Fixed several targeting bugs with certain units such as artillery destroyers vs sentry guns
  • AI: Fixed Frigate defensive radius -- was too small and affecting targeting
  • AI: Fixed fighters being too careful about firing heavies, they wanted to get too close
  • MISSION: Fixed bug where bonus is awarded on main objective fail


These should make your fleet seem more responsive. If there are any other fleet issues, please post in the forums!

6.9.2016 - UPDATE

Hello!

A new patch is being pushed to main branch that fixes several issues. This includes the beta update from earlier today. Here they are:


  • ACHIEVEMENTS: Ember Lance will pop for real upon beating THE TEMPLAR
  • WEAPONS: Fixed Frigate heavy sniper artillery muzzle flash/sfx
  • WEAPONS: Fixed Frigate heavy sniper artillery stats
  • CONTROLS: Rebinds should no longer intermittently appear/disappear, but you may need to reset to defaults for this to work.


More work has been going into debugging non-standard controllers, but that isn't finished yet.

6.9.2016 - BETA BRANCH UPDATE

The beta branch has been updated with some fixes we'd like test before pushing them to the main branch. It mainly has to do with some controller/rebinding issues and achievements:

  • If you ever lost you controls after a rebind (temporarily or not), or if rebinding a stick didn't get rid of the old bind, reset them in this version and try. Post here or in the forums to let us know how it goes.
  • Achievements should pop for things like Ember Lance if you complete the mission a second time (on any difficulty)

To access the beta branch, right-click the game in your library, hit "Properties", then go to the "Betas" tab and select "beta" from the dropdown menu.

Greetings, Starfighters!

Hot on the trail of the first update, we have another with some good stuff:

  • VR HUD: Increased the size of problematic UI
  • CONTROLS: More than one device can be bound (experimental)
  • CONTROLS: Fixed mouse + joystick stutter conflict
  • AUDIO: Stopped lots of popping
  • AUDIO: More oomph on the boost sound
  • WEAPONS: Purifiers no longer regen ammo


The mission description menu is resized specifically in VR to be more legible. Let us know if this works.

The other big thing is that the game should no longer oscillate between joystick mode and mouse mode, and multiple devices can show up in the binding menu now.

We're pushing an update to the main branch that is a compilation of all the hotfixes from yesterday (and some from this morning):

  • CONTROLS: Unbound 'B' as'Universal Cancel' on an XBOX gamepad, letting you rebind it
  • FOV: Increased limit to 140
  • FOV: Cockpit camera responds properly to custom FOV in all cases
  • TEXT: Fixed Quartermaster mission description
  • SAVES: Quit-to-Desktop forces PlayerPrefs save
  • UI: Increased visibility of out-of-ammo rings on weapons
  • VR: Fixed ESCAPE recentering on VR startup if not using gamepad
  • MISSION: Tannhauser balance work
  • UNITS: Freighter engines can be shot out once again
  • BASTILLE: Battleship should no longer get stuck
  • ACHIEVEMENT FIXES: Cloaked Figure, Ember Lance, Big Spender
  • THE BUILDER: Assault transport can no longer be manually redirected and get confused
  • THE BUILDER: Station no longer shows up as "DESTROY" objective tag
  • MISSIONS: Bonuses cannot be reset by playing an easier mission

BETA Branch - Fixes Checked In


  • BASTILLE: Battleship should no longer get stuck
  • ACHIEVEMENT FIXES: Cloaked Figure, Ember Lance, Big Spender


These fixes have been checked in for testing in the beta branch. To access it, right click the game, click properties, go to the "Betas" tab, and select "beta" from the drop down box.

These will be pushed to the default branch in the morning, most likely (hopefully)

Known Issues



  • "The Builder" mission will show "DESTROY" tag on the outpost. This is incorrect as it should simply read "OBJECTIVE." Assault Transport Hangman will board the station as normal and complete the mission otherwise.
