How to Meat People

Hard News

It come with a heavy heart to bring this news. Unfortunately all Vertnacular game development will come to an end. This started out as a fun project for myself to learn game development and became something so much more. I've learned a lot about programming, coding, animations, sound/music design, and even company development.

There has been a lot of ups and downs, and a lot has been put forward for me to get this far. But this has been unsustainable. I thought I might be able to step away for a bit and come back, maybe keep it on the side. The cold hard fact about the world is that everything runs on money. As I've been developing Draught Kraft, I've been using my own funds and a lot of my personal time. It turns out that even as a side gig, there are a ton of time and financial requirements that I can no longer support.

I want to thank all those who supported over the years. You all have at least given me the chance. That's all I could ever ask, and I'm forever grateful.

Thank you all,
-Vertnacular

Just one more note
Those who own either Draught Kraft or How To Meat People, will still have access to it in their library.

Achievement Fix

There was a small problem with the achievement system. It seems that once you met the requirements, the steam achievement would not unlock. I believe it should be fixed now. Just select your profile in main menu and it should unlock any achievement that you have the requirements for.

In addition to that, the "Too Crowded" challenge is fixed and should be well... too crowded again.

Let me know of any other problems.

Thanks!

Update!

Been working hard to bring you an update with some nice, new, and fresh features!

Added:

-Profiles! Now you can have up to 3 different save profiles.

-Difficulty setting! A lot of people were asking for a difficulty setting. So now you can play 3 different settings. The settings changes things like: what weapons you start out with, the spawn rate of weapons, how fast enemies spawn, and enemy health. Note that the medium setting is the default setting from the previous versions.

-Daily specials! Every day will have a new special to allow you to earn steaks! Blast X amount of enemies or play for Y amount of time. There are several daily challenges to take on so come back every day to get those steaks.

Fixes:

-Bottle can be picked up again after dropping in tutorial.

-Actually all items can now be picked up again. Seemed weird that I even made that a thing.

-Tenderizer only works by swinging it in Non-VR. No more running into enemies to kill them.

-Total amount of stars should update in the trade in page.

The Profile system overhauled the saving system along with the difficulty settings . So if you come across anything not saving or really any weird bugs, Just let me know! Have fun!

Thanksgiving Update!

Small Thanksgiving update:

-Minor balancing issues. (changed some weapon costs and challenge rewards)

-Added VR menu, press your menu button on your controller to open. This is the button above the track pad on the Vive.

-Added "next song" button to the menu. If you don't like a song, just skip it.

-Added "restart" button to the menu. No more waiting to die to restart a round.

-Achievements! You can now unlock 26 new achievements. These range from getting a number of tenderizer kills to completing all challenges within a level.

I hope you all have a nice Thanksgiving and share this meaty game with your friends and family. And for those not in the US, I hope you all enjoy the peace and quiet while we Americans stuff our faces :) Have fun and if there are any issues, let me know.
