--- New Features - Conveyor Splitter now has an alternate direction version. - Conveyor Merger Hook which allows items to be passed in a T shape. - New character jail-break outfit. - Dirt Tiers now have distinctive diggable dirt textures. - Dirt Chunks now have different textures depending on the tier they were dug from. - Creative Hard Hat item. While wearing will duplicate any item that is placed down to allow for quick building. - Pickaxe and Construction Hammer now also works by holding down LMB for repetitive strikes. - Holding CTRL (by default) reverses RTY direction. - New options for drop reticule. - Added new options for auto-save time intervals. - New Logic Lamp item. - New Logic multiply and divide items. - Store tooltips now appear in the vehicle store. - Windows hotbar item is no longer the default Unreal Engine icon. - New item description badges for vehicles and creative items. - Land claims can now be purchased for free in creative mode. - Gameplay options for toggle sprint/crouch. - Sound effects for opening/closing house doors.
--- Fixes - Various vehicle improvements. - Harvester improvements to prevent dirt chunks getting stuck. - Harvesters are now effected by pressure to produce better resources. - Pipes occasionally locking up and working intermittedly no longer happens. - Moving far away from a dig site will no longer fudge collisions while machinery is running. - T2 Drills can now be placed pointing towards conveyor belts without clipping issues. - Big conveyor optimisations. - Major animation optimisations making large drill sites easier to run, as well as other items. - Logic weight reader no longer outputs with a comma when above a value of 999. - Logic weight reader now shows the input/output arrows correctly. - Fixed issue where Logic Smelter would not take damage. - Improvements for loading game files with large amounts of items. - 'Save Dirt Chunks / Save Raw Resources' in gameplay options now work as intended. - Storage items no longer occasionally cause the game to lag. - Visual fix: Conveyor Shredder T1 drum now spins the correct direction. - Store tooltip sizes expanded to allow for languages with lots of words (we're looking at you, Germany) - Players can now fish at world bounds.
--- Changes - Rake reworked to be easier to use. - Rake will align to the rotation of build items for new saves created after this update. - Cloutium Ore can only be found under the ground now using drills. Will still spawn for pans at any level. - Gem prices and spawn rates have been changed. Onyx is still expensive and rare, then Rubies, Sapphires, then Emeralds. - Drills and Harvesters will now limit the amount of pressure they can take to their corresponding tier max pressures. - Construction hammer now uses LMB to lock down items and RMB to unlock items. - Placement grid is now more subtle. - Sale signs no longer have metal bands which hide some text well selling extremely valuable resources. - Creative Invincible Filter remodel. - Hourglass pausing time now saves. - Hourglass now has a sand effect which shows if time is paused/continuing. - Half walls can now be RTY rotated. - Cottage and Wooden wall windows now have glass. - Scales are now rotated to be aligned with the grid.

--- New Features - Logic Validator Hook - prevents a 0 value from passing through a logic cable. - Added a button to reset resolution for when a player presses 'multi-monitor splitscreen' and it throws half the game off the screen.
--- Fixes - Major optimisations on animations: most importantly making running large amounts of drills work better. - Added preventative measures for T1 harvesters clogging up. - Harvester particle effect now works as intended. - Logic Smelter now spawns the bar in the correct position. - Logic Smelter visual liquid level now functions properly. - Removed issue with loops in logic systems. - Logic hooks do a better job connecting to the correct cable. - Logic Light is now brighter and covers more area. - Logic Light now retains its light value when loading a save. - Blocked players from picking up a bed if its being used, preventing an issue which locks the player into the void of sleepy time. - Fixed an issue where some store item's we have moved around keep their original positions. - Dropping coins into cobwebs no longer prevents you from picking them back up. Sneaky spiders! - Added more preventative measures for things getting stuck in funnels.

--- Fixes - Removed discord integration to fix issues with some users not being able to launch the game if Discord is open in admin mode. - Harvesters will now not (hopefully) clog up when moving far away from them. - T1 Drills can now be placed next to eachother on both sides. - Removed issue where the pallet would sometimes cause the selected item to bug out and select items that aren't being looked at. - Fixed issue with infinite water loop. - Relic cave now works appropriately. - Dropped machinery in the travelling merchant store no longer locks out if the item rolls out of the store. - Mouse inversion setting now saves properly. - Mouse inversion now works for vehicles. - Removed issue where sometimes players can drop a shovel in mid animation causing it to enter the void. - Various fixes for throwable dynamite. - Conveyor Centraliser no longer picks up items in players hand or functions in the store. - Prevented keybindings being able to be set to Left/Right mouse button which stops players from interacting with things.

A Complete rework of the game's entire codebase for optimization / new gameplay features / a solid foundation to build on further.
Splitscreen via Steam Remote Play, play with your friends online using splitscreen. Why not full multiplayer? I'll explain that below.
Hundreds of new items!
Entire new vehicle system, will not ping off into the atmosphere anymore, and are fun to drive!
Brand new save file system which is a lot more optimized and stable. This will not work with old save files, they'll still be accessible with the old game version on the steam beta tab.
This is a foundational update, not the final version of the game! Lots more planned from us here at Foulball Hangover.
The biggest update we've ever made!
Hydroneer 2.0 is released! Its the largest update we've ever done, and I couldn't be more proud. This is an incredible step forward for the game. The foundational features included in this update will not only make it easier for us to work on, but lay the groundwork for new items and mechanics!
The update has been in the works since January 2021, and it would be a lie if I told you we didn't have immense setbacks, from staffing issues to hitting roadblocks with the multiplayer development, we had to essentially start again in December 2021, throwing out a lot of work. With this, the final version of what we wanted multiplayer to be was completely changed. Due to technical limitations of physics engines, and our dedication to staying indie and not taking on outside investors, I decided the best move forward was to make the multiplayer aspects of the update as Steam Remote Play Splitscreen. We've been heavily testing this and putting it through its paces and I am personally very impressed with how far its come since I last used it. If you've had the same discomfort of using it before, give it another try, you might be surprised by how smooth it is!
This update is gigantic and is a solid foundation both technically and in design for the future. We've got a lot of cool things we want to do in the future:
Update 2.1 - Farming Season. This update will bring farming, cooking, NPC interactions, and new vehicles to the game!
Update 2.2 - Tier 3. This update brings in more digging machinery AND will allow you to dig much deeper in the game, as well as a major gameplay feature.
After that, who knows! I don't see the development of Hydroneer stopping any time soon. As long as people are still interested, we'll make more stuff.
Finally, before I type out the mammoth amount of patch notes, I'd like to give you my thanks! Hydroneer was created as a passion project by myself, and I want to thank everyone in letting me carry on creating this. I love every day I get this awesome opportunity to work on it. --- New Features
BIG STUFF - Complete game codebase overhaul for foundational groundwork, and optimizations. - Splitscreen via Steam Remote Play, play with your friends online using splitscreen. - Complete vehicle rework - Trucks no longer fly off into the atmosphere and handle much better. - New save file system which is more optimized and stable, with more features.
Building - Brand new crafting system deep in the Icehelm mountain. Craft drills, harvesters, and more! - Hand Sorter machine. Requires water input, pour resources into it to split them into categories. - New TIERED drill system. These drills do not remove the dirt under them, instead only work to a certain depth depending on their tier. - New Harvester tiers. Like the drills, will only work with dirt dug at certain depths depending on their tier. - New tiered pipe systems, now players will start with Forged Iron Pipes, before moving to Cloutium Pipes. - Building items now have 'Hooks'. These act as attachments onto items. - Conveyors now hook onto pipes to allow for custom pipe networks. - Conveyors have hooks such as dirt shredders, gem cutters, logic counters, etc. - Pipe items are now split into hooks, filters, valve, pressure reader, etc. - Some logic items are also split into hooks, as above. - Additional logic hooks such as a 10 second delay, logic repeater, and flipflop. - Invincible water filter for creative mode. - Three different type of house building parts: Wood, Stone, and Cottage. These all have the same measurements and look great when the styles are mixed. - Double wide wooden stairs.
Tools - New Pickaxe and Shovel tools which can dig to a certain depth depending on their tier. - Rake tool for levelling out dirt, helpful for building. - Throwable TNT explosives. - Firefly Jar lighting object. - Toolbags can now be refilled by dropping spanners into them.
World - Voxel plugin update. Performance improvements and much smoother voxels! - Icehelm and Snowrune Falls areas added, with a new dig site in each. - Icehelm horizontal dig site. Like normal dig sites, the deeper you go the better the resources. - Travelling merchant who will sell you your first drill and harvester. - New stores: Icehelm Housing, Icehelm equipment, and Bridgepour cottage store. - Icehelm transporter pipes: send items directly through the abandoned city with ease. - Unstuck points now have separate locations for players and vehicles. - Stock market redesign - Now only purchase certain resources.
Misc - Customisable 3rd person characters which are viewable from the customisation window, and when playing with friends. More styles to be added! - NVIDIA DLSS - Deep Learning Super Sampling. - Complete redesign of the game UI. - New drop circle when carrying resources. - New necklace and ring models for each specific gem. - Brand new visual effects (VFX) throughout the entire game. - Various visual improvements. - Settings menu rework - Additional sound sliders to edit various sound effect levels. - Added Nvidia DLSS - Controller rework/rebind menu major improvements. - Item descriptions now contain certain badges to improve understanding of their abilities. - New and updated sound effects across the entire game. - Crucibles and bars heat up 10x as fast in creative mode.
--- Fixes - Character movement code rework. Input will no longer be locked out on an axis if that button is already held down when holding down the new axis button. - Steam backend API accessor updated to Steamcore. Game will handle on steam a bit nicer, and fixing some crashing errors after closing the game. - Day/Night cycle major optimizations and improvements. - Fishing bobber now always lands in the correct orientation. - Crafted items on the anvil will no longer ping away if a large item. - Fixed issues with the cave textures. - Lantern optimizations. - Vehicles now collide with trees. - Vehicle key tooltip now shows the controller keybinding if using controller. - Fixed issues with keybindings being broken occassionally.
--- Changes - Excavator vehicle removed (For now...) - Vehicles all retextured to improve issues with resolution. - Power items removed and merged into logic items. Things like the magnet and destroyer no longer require and drain power to operate. - Storing items in things like toolracks no longer requires a mouseclick. When dropping the item, if looking at a eligible storage item, will store the item in there instead. - Updated building items to have a more consistent rotations, making them easier to place down. - Item descriptions and names have been updated for clarity. - Compressor now has a logic input on the side. - Compressor produces regular gems instead of Composite Gems. Will not work with un-cut gems! - When using precision placement, using (by default) R, T, Y, keys will allow you to rotate the item. - Pan now takes one scrub instead of two. - Cloutium Ore now costs 170 per 1 weight instead of 35. - Cloutium Bar now costs 200 per 1 weight instead of 40. - Scraping items will give you scrap metal that costs 25% of the original value. - Scrap Bars will increase the value of the Scrap metal by 2. - Decreased the starting scale range of crafted items, and increased the max range. - Picking up ores from a large pile will no longer wake up all ores around itself. - Leg-X tool and logic supports removed as literally nobody used them lol. - Placement types updated for items, this changes if an item can be placed in the sky or has to snap to an object. - Cart movement reworked and improved. - Scales reworked to be more stable and new model. - Red/Blue placement material improved to show more detail in the item to make it easier to place. - Vehicle store updated. - Vehicles now take 4 water loads to refil instead of 5. - Smelter model improvements. - Light post now has a visual overhaul. - The Plinth can now store relic items. - Blacksmith hammer visual overhaul. - Construction hammer visual overhaul. - Esc menu now contains a 'Save & Quit to Desktop' option. - Pan and Bucket retexture. - UI checkbox changed from a X to a tick to resolve confusion.
