The 1st patch is done and out there! Here's the list of things that updated:
* Full Controller Support
* Better controller mapping, better analogue joystick sensitivity + XBOX360 gamepad fix
* Added level/track progress interface element
* Remember last level played in level select menu
* Game Over name input optimized
* small animation tweaks
* bullet pattern difficulty optimization in later levels
* "Random crash on collision with snakes" aka the "snake bug" squashed!
* "X360 controller causes fps drop" aka "slowdown bug" squashed! (should it persist on your machine ---> try to switch your controller to another USB-port! Weird, but works!)
Big thanks to Mr Cunningham for the suggestions and Mr Epilexia for ultra-thorough bugtesting!
More to come. Stay tuned!
Incoming message from Hyperspace!
HIII all, and welcome to my little hyperverse.
First off, a big thanks goes out to all the people who supported the game on here and Greenlight. Without you, there would be no game. Indeed, it would all have gotten lost in a cybernetic void, where the abyss of failure would've ceaslessly continued to stare into my trauma-filled soul. But now my Beast is out - and thus HI gets a better chance to grow, possibly even pay my rent from time to time. More significantly for you, I get to make more time to further improve it. So thanks for playing, giving feedback and support.
Gamewise, some minor bugs have surfaced, which should be handled by the next update which is coming ASAP!
Already tackled: * analogue joystick for X360 controller fix
* better gamepad mapping: FULL GAMEPAD SUPPORT, pause and escape buttons, more logically mapped.
* track/level progress interface element added
* game over name input optimized
* remember last played level in level select screen: check!
Planned for next (or later) updates: * Steam Leaderboards! Better start practising now! ;)
* Steam Achievements.
* more invader squad formations.
* various small bugfixes.
* more groovy stuff to be announced!
ps: I might take feature requests if they are possible without requiring too much of a re-write. I'm curious to hear and entertain your ideas if you have any.
Things like extra modes may not get done but may be kept in mind for the next HI generation.
