Quest & Quest 2 Agents: A Reminder
Greetings, Agents!
We're thrilled to see so many of you playing I Expect You To Die through Steam with your Oculus Quest or Quest 2 headsets. Welcome aboard, Agents! HQ is pleased to have your help taking down Zoraxis.
With this influx of new Agents, we wanted to provide some key tips and best practices to make sure you have a smooth experience and can play through your missions with ease. (Not factoring in the difficulty of your missions, naturally.)
For the HQ-Approved and most recommended method of play:
Connect your headset with Quest Link via a USB cable
Launch I Expect You To Die from the Steam Library
If presented with the option, choose "Oculus VR" when prompted.
Alternatively, if you're not using Quest Link, other Agents have had success running I Expect You To Die through Steam + Virtual Desktop on their Oculus Quest headsets by enrolling in our Compatibility Beta. While we aren't able to officially support Virtual Desktop, as it is a third-party software, we highly recommend trying this method first if you experience any issues.
As always, feel free to contact us at gamesupport@schellgames.com or within our official I Expect You To Die Discord server if you're having any difficulties. We're happy to try to help get you back into the field.

Incoming Transmission: New Compatibility Update
Greetings, Agents! A new update for I Expect You To Die has launched which should help some field agents with their experience taking down Zoraxis. Here's the intel, direct from HQ:
Our public beta with improved Index support has been implemented into the main release.
A new compatibility beta has been implemented to provide improved support for other Agents, including (unofficial) support for Virtual Desktop streaming. This also includes a possible fix for users that were having issues with the Death Engine mission not starting correctly.
The Agency hopes this will make your missions more enjoyable, and as always encourages you to reach out to us via gamesupport@schellgames.com if you experience any issues.
Stay sharp out there, Agents!
Greetings, Oculus Quest 2 Agents!
Greetings, Agents! HQ is thrilled to see new and returning recruits taking on missions with their Oculus Quest 2 headsets! The HQ approved method to use a Quest Headset is to use Quest Link via a USB cable. Launch the game from the Steam Library, being sure to choose the Oculus VR option when prompted.
If the initial configuration screen shows an Oculus controller, you've launched successfully.
If for some reason, you are not prompted to choose, here are some steps you can try.
Right-click the game in the library and select properties.
select SET LAUNCH OPTIONS...
add "-vrmode oculus" and then close the window
select PLAY GAME
As always, please continue to report any issues or troubles you experience while on your missions. Stay sharp out there, Agents!
Message from HQ - A Fix for Sound Bug on Index
Greetings, Agents!
The Agency is sad to hear that you cannot fulfill your duties due to the auditory complications you’re experiencing.
HQ has recently rolled out a beta that should fix the sound issues Agents are reporting when using the Valve Index. Here's what we need you to do: 1. Right click on I Expect You To Die in your Steam library 2. Select Properties 3. Select the BETAS tab 4. Select "indexsoundfix" from the dropdown menu 5. Allow the game to update itself 6. Return to your missions and stop the Zoraxis group!
Additionally, while this fix may not address issues for other headsets, The Agency is hard at work investigating a resolution. Never fear, Agents. We'll provide more information when we can.
