Steam Next Fest ends, the demo stays!

Now that we've had some time to wind down, review and polish, we want to say that it has been a joy to participate in this month's Steam Next Fest. I See Red came to the eyes of many (many!) new players, we got the chance to launch our Discord server (which you can join too!), and of course made public the first official demo of this frantic twin-stick shooter roguelite.

To everyone who joined in, played, gave feedback, or helped spread the word: THANK YOU!

What's more, we have good news, and it's that the demo is updated and... STAYING! Our plan is for it to remain playable until the release of I See Red, so that new and old players can continue to get a powerful taste of what's in store. We hope you're as excited as us.

Just in case you missed it, here's the replay of one of the livestreams we hosted for Steam Next, where we showcased the demo and commented on the game as a whole. It was a fun experience, so go watch it, have fun, and #PlayThePrologue!

I See Red won the EYE-POPPINGLY BEAUTIFUL award at Rogue Jam 2021!

The Rogue Jam is a huge event organized by Rogue, a videogame company and publisher "on the hunt for badass games". There were several categories for the competition, including "WTF?" (for the weirdest, wildest games) or "Huge Potential" (amazing concepts in the making), among others.

At the end of April and among 650 entries, I See Red was declared the most Eye-Poppingly Beautiful game!

The event was covered by IGN, and released in the format of episodes for each category, showcasing every game, interaction between judges and devs, questions about the development process, and more! It was very interesting to participate in something of this scale of production, and you can watch our episode here:

The jam was judged by representatives and legends of the industry: Peer Schneider, Executive Vice President and CCO of IGN Entertainment; Reggie Fils-Aimé, Former Nintendo of America’s president and COO; Chris Lee, Head of Game Sourcing and Interactive Games at Netflix; Kimberly Pointer Corbett, Senior Vice President of Digital Publishing at Warner Bros. Games; Matt Casamassina, Co-founder of IGN Entertainment, and founder and CEO of Rogue; and Chris Archer, Chief Strategy Officer of Rogue. Being in the same space as them was as intimidating as exciting, and hearing that they decided to make I See Red the winner was dreamlike.

What an amazing award, and a huge incentive for us! We work hard every day to make ISR just that: a raw, raging, beautiful game. As always, congratulations to all the participants, and thank you Rogue, IGN, judges, and everyone!

I See Red won MOST IRREVERENT GAME at VIT Awards 2021!

At the end of last year, the 9th edition of Expovit took place and, in it, the VIT Awards. Expovit is the Costa Rican National Videogame Development Exposition, and the VIT Awards is "a contest with the objective of recognizing and exalting the quality in design, art, development, and innovation of the products developed by Costa Rican and international game developers".

As a part of the event, I See Red was nominated for a plethora of awards: Best Soundtrack, Most Irreverent Game, Best Game from Overseas, Best Gameplay, and Best Art Direction. Our frantic twin-stick shooter ended up winning as the Most Irreverent, and we cannot think of an award more appropriate for it!

We are honored to be recognized in our Latin American region and to be among such great games. Thank you Expovit, judges, and everyone for your support! Congratulations to all winners and nominees!
