New Content Update, More Guns, Ironman Mode, Basic Hails
More Guns: There are now two new guns that can be acquired in the game for a certain amount of credits and materials:
Laser Shotgun:
Laser Rifle:
Ammo and Armor can also be acquired through this menu in the same way:
Ironman Mode: There is now an "Ironman" mode. It provides the ultimate challenge in the game. There is also a new achievement related to this.
Basic Hails: These are now available for almost all ships and some planets. They are completely optional and don't have a significant effect on the gameplay:
New Secret Achievment: "The Artifician Labyrinth"
This will probably be the last content update I make to ISCS as I am going to be focusing on my next game which I will post links to in the future.
I will still be around to fix bugs and listen to feedback about ISCS.
This update will obsolete old saves again. However, this should be the last time.
Plans For The Future
Based on feedback I've received here are a few things I plan to add to this game that are often requested and would be relatively easy for me to do. I can't provide any timelines for when they will be implemented but I wanted to put them out there so people know that I am hearing their feedback.

An Ironman Mode - this was actually how most of the beta testers experienced the game since I didn't have saving/loading for a while. Many people actually beat the game this way and I think it made it a thrilling experience to make it through the entire game without dying. This would effectively be the "Hard" mode.
More Guns - I've decided on a defensive weapon(shotgun) and an assault rifle that can be unlocked with a certain amount of materials. This will help keep the gunplay a little more interesting and also provide a choice between upgrading personal weapons or upgrading the ship.
Hails - I plan to do some very simple hails so all of them are not just "(no response)". They will be completely optional and won't have a significant effect on the gameplay.
I cannot promise an endless amount of content updates to this game. The main reason being that the technology I used to make this game is really old(as you can probably tell by the default 4:3 aspect ratio and long loading times) and I'm looking forward to using newer technology to make games. However, I think it is still worth it to add these things so maybe someone who picks it up in a few years can have a little more refined experience than they would without all your feedback - which has been really interesting to read.
Some new bugfixes are live now - obsoleted previous saves - this should be the last time for a while now
WARNING: Due to some more big changes - this patch obsoleted previous saves again.
___________________________________________________________
- Fixed an issue where using quicksave/quickload with the fullscreen UI open would result in a bad save of that UI
- Fixed an issue where the wrong fonts could be used in the UI after loading from a save
- Fixed an issue where crewmembers could not be assigned unique names after loading from a save
The new build is live now 10:00 PM CST 06/09/2017.
Once again, continue to let me know of any problems you are having. If it is a crash - the best thing you can do is post your Windows crash log for me. If I can't figure it out with that then I'll probably ask for a save file.
Another set of bugfixes incoming - will obsolete previous saves again

- Fixed an issue where the game would crash when salvaging two entities one after the other.
- Fixed an issue where loading a game would lose track of which grid positions you have visited.
- Put the version number on the main menu screen - in the bottom right
- Added some informational notes to the options menu.
- Increased the amount of time ammo sticks around from killed crewmembers so ships can be boarded for ammo more intuitively.
- Fixed an issue where the key binding to open the captain's menu would sometimes be replaced with the 'p' key instead of the default 'BACKSPACE' key.

Some Fairly Large Bugfixes - Will Obsolete Old Saves
WARNING: Due to some big changes - this patch will obsolete old saves.
-Fixed an issue where doors would get stuck open. This could also have potentially bugged out some of the cinematics as well. I considered this a game-breaking bug - so this is by far the most important fix here. The problem was deep in the engine source.
-Fixed an exploit where you could infinitely increase your materials/currency by repeatedly taking over different ships.
-Fixed some spelling errors.
-Fixed an issue where music during the cinematics would suddenly stop playing.
-Fixed an issue on one of the spacestations where you could not progress because of an invisible wall.
