This is a preview of the upcoming changes to Maku. There have been events recently that have stagnated my development, but recently I have been hard at work on Maku. This new update will consolidate the features I have been testing, with changes to the original game being implemented with the help of the Early Access players and their feedback.
I would like to thank everyone that has supported the development of Maku, and apologize for any delays I've had in updating the game.
General Additions & Adjustments:
Interaction System: Follow the story of each character through the Arcade mode
Diversified boss mechanics: Bosses have unique AIs and will now require new strategies and creative builds to be defeated
Boss Rush has been added. Select from the bosses you've previously defeated or challenge them back to back.
New unlockable characters added: Medusa, Cure, Donk, (Return of Yazura)
New unlockable levels added: (Working Titles) Desert Wasteland, Dollhouse Clocktower, Volcano, Hidden Glacier, Orbital Research Station
New weapon system: Characters in arcade mode utilize a unique "Main Weapon" or ability controlled by manual twin-stick aiming configuration with the option to toggle auto-aiming. An indicator for this has been added.
Deeper controller support for twin-stick configuration
New weapons added: Main weapons for the new characters: Serpent's Spine, (Cure's Weapon), Fan of Knives, (Return of Spear w/ Yazura)
Turbo Mode has been added allowing for faster runs. A new level of difficulty is added with this mode. Turbo Mode can be toggled along with the Normal, Hardcore, and Demon Difficulties. As well as alongside Endless Mode.
Integrated game tutorial on first playthrough.
Options Improvements: Epilepsy settings should properly reflect on the more intense flashing color animations.
Extras Menu: Read over game statistics, check your item collection, research and collect info from enemies in the beastiary, view images in the gallery, and set music in the jukebox.
Many general balance changes have been made.
After testing out the implemented "Lobby Mode" and receiving feedback from players, the Main Menu, Character Select, and Level Select screen has been reverted to their original form and updated to include new levels and level modifiers.
More features to be announced once the update releases.
This is just an announcement. The planned content will be released as soon as possible with an accompanying post.
I'll be removing "Idle Maku" from Steam, if you would like a previous build message me on Discord.
Development has resumed.
Development has resumed ːnecroheartː
There's been quite a few changes, a re-branding and many features that have been added, removed, or altered from the last update. Many features are in-progress additions and are currently being worked on.
The most notable of which is the new targeting system. You can now toggle auto-attack or auto-aim on or off for each main weapon.
You can play the last update of the game which is more stable by choosing "Play Idle Maku" in the launch options.
I will be updating the game as often as I can.
