iGrow Game

v1.25 Brings more choice and shine

I'm now becoming confident that iGrow Game is now solid, with no problems mentioned from anyone since the last update (fingers crossed). I've decided to focus on something I mentioned before.

I wanted to bring some more room designs in game.

So now you can show off your plants with some different back drops. I even got a snow theme in there to grow some christmas gold in.

Also you might of noticed that the metal looks more shiny too due to new reflections.

Take a look at some of the new designs in game and look out for more in the future.

v 1.245 - a fix patch

Ok unfortunately I've had a few problems recently. Some how I broke the game in several places from things i've done. So I reverted back to an earlier version on steam.

So I've had to spend some time adding all the latest fixes back in and attempting to fix new problems I've found. I've done a fair bit of testing and everything now seems stable and working like it should.

Like I mentioned before I have been trying to also fix the NaN bug that can happen sometimes. It's basically because the game get's closed while writing to disk. So no data gets saved. So now the game save's less and prompts you when it's saving. Also it won't allow you to exit the game from the menu's when saving. So hopefully unless you close the game from force closing you shouldn't have the NaN error again.

With this new update as well as 50% off during the steam winter sale. It's a great time to get the game and support future development.

If you do experience anything let me know in the forums. As soon as the game is stable I can think about adding more content.

I made a mistake! Sorry!

Last night I pushed up an update in an attempt to fix a bug in the needs system. Basically if you get busted you'll be busted over and over in a loop. Anyway the update I pushed up didnt work. So I just wanted to apologize to everyone. I wont rush in future without testing properly first.

I will have an update out soon to fix any of the bugs i'm aware of soon. I'll keep you updated with what happens.

On a roll! v1.244 and Trading Cards!

Keeping momentum going, I've managed to get another update out.

So this latest update is the start of working on the room designs. I hopefully plan to expand on the designs and maybe even making them unlockables. I think this is a good time to expand on this as I personally feel that the cross breeding allows you to practically create your own strains. It would be nice to showcase them with some different backdrops.

Also in this update I've added a new in game song, still awhile away from becoming a whole soundtrack but still I may as well add them as I make them.

There's also a fair few minor changes in this update as well!

Also not to forget the new addition of Trading cards, badges, emoticons and backgrounds! Quite a few asked for it, so here they are!

It's a Christmas Miracle!

A small Christmas update has (by accident) led to something big, a miracle actually!

So let's start with that small Christmas update:

This new strain is a cheeky Christmas inspired strain you can grow at level 17! Not for a limited time or anything, just my way of saying happy Christmas!

So, making a new strain was a good way to delve back under the hood of iGrow game and become familier with the code. Believe it or not, despite iGrow game looking simple on the surface. There's far more work to it then you would think and simple sounding jobs such as saving a game is monsterous systems alone. That being said it got me back into the swing of things and what I added is something I designed this game for from the beginning.

Cross breeding strains!
It's in! And now this add's not just replayability it also pushs unlockables all the way to level 50! That's quite a jump from level 16. Not just that, this means you don't just have 39 (including the new Christmas strain) you will have over 1000 combinations to grow! Thats a huge jump!

iGrow game isn't dead yet, I hope to get more work done over the holidays!

v1.22 You've been raided!

A few players have suggested random raids to occur in the game. After a long time thinking of a way to work this into the game so they weren't just random. I've hopefully also created a new gameplay mechanic which will give you more to keep an eye on.

You now have a food, water and energy bars. You are able to buy from the vending machines in the lobby as well as sleep using the sleeping bag in the rooms.

If you let your food, water or energy bars hit 0 you will "Pass out" which means you get busted. If you are in the lobby you will lose all your inventory. If you don't keep an eye on these and you pass out in your room you will lose everything in the room, your inventory and £1000 fine.

This will also stop you from just keeping the speed on x10. I know this all might sound a bit strange at the moment but I'm hoping to expand on these mechanics. Hopefully this added feature improves the game. Maybe it's a terrible idea and you hate it. Let me know on the forums http://forum.igrowgame.co.uk/

New update now available v1.21!

I've had some great feedback for iGrow Game over the past week. So I set to work on a new update. This is a quick run down of what's new to the game:

Light Height
The lights now automatically change height at certain points of the grow. It doesn't change the gamely in anyway but visually it adds more immersion.

Light Cycles
When the plant's start budding the cycle of the plant changes. This change is so subtle and won't even be noticeable until your able to grow some of the top strains that take longer to grow.

Game difficulty
One of the problems players have found is that it is just too easy to progress through the game. It should now take longer now giving a longer play through.

Crouch
With light movements I decided it would be a good idea to add the ability to crouch while in a room. Making it easier to access plants.

FOV
Field of view was an issue, should look right now.

DOF
Depth of field graphically takes the sharpness away from objects further away. There was none before but it is there now. I haven't added settings for FOV and DOF yet.

Many other minor fixes and changes has happened as well over the past week, including character movement tweaking. This is the beginning of many more updates hopefully. Want to see your suggestions in game then tell me about them on the forums http://forum.igrowgame.co.uk

Can Not Move? You Need PhysX!

It finally clicked, after a rewrite of the controls in the game and deciding the code was working fine. It hit me, it's the physics!

iGrow Game uses PhysX and it should now download automatically when launching the game the first time.

Incase it doesn't you can download it here:

Had a problem? look here!

Let me first say thank you all so much for an amazing launch. iGrow Game has been a labor of love which began in 2013! That's a fair few years of dreaming of how launching iGrow Game on steam would be. Before getting into the serous part of this announcement, I would like to start off by giving you a bit of information about iGrow Game.

I am the only developer of iGrow Game (which explains some of the shoddy texturing and bad looking models). It can be incredibly difficult to make a game like this single handedly. It's almost impossible to perfect everything, though I have tried my best. I've really enjoyed seeing some players put in some hours and even unlock everything in the game! I've also been trying my best to fix the problem of moving some players are receiving.

I wanted to make this announcement especially for those having problems with loading. Luckily SepticSpoon was able to figure out if you disable "Legacy graphics mode" in the settings menu. This should fix the loading freeze.

As for the moving problem some are having. I'm working on it!

I also wanted to let you all know, I do plan on adding to the game. It's like many have said, it does what it's meant to do. Grow, harvest, sell and expand. Once I have sorted out these few bugs my aim is to add more functionality.

So if you have a problem or you need help. Don't leave a bad review, find me on the forums http://forum.igrowgame.co.uk or post in the community discussions.

Thank you all and happy growing!
