Version 1.0 is coming!!!
It's hard to believe that it has been almost 3 years since we created the Greenlight page for Impossiball - which is when we released the game on XBox360. The game has certainly evolved quite a bit since then:
We are currently putting the finishing touches to the next update which will include achievements. You are already able to see the list of achievements on your game's page but you need to wait for the update before you can start unlocking them!
The update will also include:
Better controller support - you will be able to play with PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Logitech, Executioner, MaxFire, and more.
New UI graphics
Better mouse input
Balanced difficulty settings making the game more fun to play against the AI
...and more!
When we release this update we will also move out of Early Access and into Full Release. As we've said all along, we will increase the price when we move out of Early Access - this is our way of saying thank you for supporting us during the development of the game.
Thank you for your support and happy gaming!

Coming Soon
Do you know what's better than beating your friend at IMPOSSIBALL?...Beating two friends at IMPOSSIBALL!!
Coming Soon: DOUBLES!
Update 0.21 - Linux and Mac versions added
IMPOSSIBALL is now available to gamers on Linux/SteamOS and Mac! As well as builds for the new platforms, this latest version includes the following changes:
You can now re-map the keys for both player 1 and player 2 via the CONTROLS page. Just click on a key and you will be prompted to assign a new key.
Added a new video option to turn on or off "VSync" - this limits the frame rate to the refresh rate of your monitor and reduces the load on your graphics card.
When the cursor is hidden, the mouse is now locked in position - fixing a problem discovered on Linux
Fixed the "mouse exploit" reported by Linas W. N. Sparrow - you can no longer move the mouse up and down quickly to create an impenetrable wall
With regards to the last item in that list - the fix required us to limit the speed at which you can move the ship with the mouse. This is necessary to make it fair when playing against someone else using either the keyboard or a controller. It takes a little getting used to but, hopefully, you will understand that it was a necessary step.
We would like to thank all the Linux beta testers that were recruited via GamingOnLinux.com
As always, we encourage your feedback and suggestions.
Happy gaming,
Dark Duo Games
Version 0.2 Introduces a third game mode: LONEBALL
After feedback from the community we've created a classic pong mode entitled 'Loneball'. There's a single ball retro-ed up with neon effects and a chiptune soundtrack.
Here's the full list of changes included in the update:
Loneball mode added
AI no longer gives up on a ball too early
AI no longer returns to the middle when the balls are stopped
AI no longer makes huge mistakes when the ball is very close
AI no longer able to rotate the ship more than the player
AI no longer makes sudden small rotations of its ship
AI no longer "shakes" during serves
Fast moving balls no longer tunnel through ships
If ship is moving quickly and passes through a ball - the ball is now reflected back
Shield Power-Up now lasts twice as long! ːsteamhappyː
Fast moving balls no longer miss power-ups when passing through them
Improved the looping of the music by changing the encoding of the audio
As always we welcome your comments.

IndieDB Indie of the Year 2016
It's time for the 7th annual "Indie of the year" awards. When you vote you are also entered into a draw to win game keys. If you like Impossiball then please vote for us by following this link:
Award season is upon us and, just like the big Hollywood studios around the Oscars, we are courting your nomination in the prestigious category of:
"I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won An Award"
What we want?
We would like you to consider nominating Impossiball in the category of "I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won An Award". If you feel the game is worthy in any other category then we will not stop you from nominating us.
Are you qualified?
Do you have a Steam account?
Have you played Impossiball?
Did you think it was cool?
Can you read?
If the answer to any of these questions is "Yes" then you are qualified.
Should you do it?
Some decisions in life are to be made solely by the individual. Others are made via a "group mentality" - based on the "sheepish" qualities of human behaviour. If you believe yourself to be a sheep then just do it. If you are most definitely not a sheep then you must make your own mind up. However, remember, if someone tells you not to think about an elephant...what do you do?
How do you do it?
Either via the Steam website or via your Steam app, find Impossiball in the Steam Store and scroll down to a button labelled "Nominate this game for an award" and click on it. Then select the award you would like to nominate us for.
How many times can you do it?
You can only nominate us once. You must definitely not create more free Steam accounts just so that you can nominate us more times.
A final word
Thanks.
DODGEBALL has arrived (v0.1)
We are very excited to release version 0.1. It's such a big deal that we skipped over 0.07, 0.08 and 0.09. There are two major changes in this version:
Dodgeball This is a new game-mode where you must now avoid the balls. Points are earned when your opponent gets hit. However, the balls get faster AND bigger over time.
Optimsation We have optimised every aspect of the game and it now runs much, much faster.
There were also a few minor changes too:
The game-over screen now requires you to press any button to return to the main menu. (This is especially useful if you want to rub your opponent's nose in the fact that you just utterly, utterly thrashed them.)
Power-Ups are removed after 10 seconds if they are not picked up.
Added instructions for Dodgeball.
As always, if you experience any problems with the game then please let us know either in the comments below or via the Discussions.
