In Stars and Time

MERCH!?!?!?! (and more!)

First things first, thank you so much to everyone who has been playing and sharing their thoughts on the game!!! We are hard at work fixing the first big batch of user reported bugs, and we should have an update on the next patch within the next week or so. If you find any issues, please use the bug report form!

ALRIGHT! MERCH!

The Yetee is currently running an In Stars and Time collection!!! You can buy a very neat sticker pack, and an even neater T-shirt, both designed by PixelEyeBat!!! Look at them! Look at them!!! Go buy them. Available for a limited time. Go buy them

And. The moment you've all been waiting for.

That's right, SIFFRIN PLUSHIE IS HERE!!!!! We are working with the fine folks at Makeship to bring your plushie dreams to life!!! For the next 3 weeks you can preorder your own Siffrin plushie. The plushie will only be made if we meet our goal, so don't hesitate to snag a little fella for yourself before it's too late! Go buy one. Or three. Or seven. One for each day of the week

And, what?!? The In Stars and Time Soundtrack composed by Studio Thumpy Puppy is now out on Steam! You can buy it on its own here, or buy it alongside the game in a nice bundle!
As a note, this is only disc 1. The second disc is too spoilery, so we will release the rest of the tracks in the next couple months. Don't worry, you will automatically get disc 2 if you purchase the soundtrack on Steam!

Once again, thank you so much for your support!!! I am so very glad people have been enjoying the game. I'm still a little stunlocked to be honest. Thank you. A very special thank you to people who have reviewed the game on Steam so far (WINK WINK), so if you want to be special thanked, you could also leave one. If you wanted. (WINK WINK) ALRIGHT BYE

Steam Trading Cards!!! (+ Housekeeping) ✨

GREAT NEWS I realized I forgot to release the Steam Trading Cards and such yesterday. SO HERE THEY ARE NOW, OUT TODAY!!!! You can now get ISAT Steam Trading Cards as you play, as well as perhaps??? Profile backgrounds and emoticons and a badge??!? My god. The sky truly is the limit.

And also, Oh My Stars. It's been only a day and the response from press and players has been INCREDIBLE. Thank you so much for all the nice words. I have spent the last day being completely overwhelmed and full of warm feelings.

Look at some of those reviews!!!

GamesRadar - "Released just yesterday, November 20, In Stars and Time already looks like it's a certified indie hit. "
RPFan - "I believe it would be hard, perhaps even impossible, not to fall in love with the five adventurers during the events of In Stars and Time."
GamesHub - "In Stars and Time is the type of game that is excellent to discuss theories and nitty gritty details with a friend, an element which adds to an already thought provoking experience. With a cast of exceptionally loveable characters to tether you to its remarkable world, it will stick in your mind long after you’ve put it down."

A couple housekeeping things!
-We are taking care of a few bugs we've noticed/been given notice of! Unless a GAMEBREAKING BUG happens, expect an update in the coming weeks, as we'd like to release updates on PC and consoles at the same time, and console updates take A Little Bit to pass review.
-If you have found a bug or issue or anything at all, we have a handy dandy Bug Report Form for you!
-We've also been getting a lot of questions about Content Creator keys! GREAT NEWS we also have a handy dandy Content Creator Key Request Form, for YOU!!!

We hope you've been enjoying In Stars and Time!!! If you have, we would love it if you could leave a review on Steam. We're early in the Release Era of ISAT and reviews at this stage help a bunch!!! (Little tip: you can leave a review a couple hours into the game, and come back whenever you want to edit it with your Fresh New Thoughts)

Thank you so much!!! Have a good one!!!

In Stars and Time is ✨OUT NOW!!!✨

Let's not waste time…

In Stars and Time is now available on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Playstation 4&5!!!

We got a couple of early reviews for you already~

IGN - "For a week, I stayed up late every night because I couldn’t put it down. I dreamed about it. I sat at my desk at work, watching the clock, eager for the hour when I could finally get home and try again to unravel the mystery of what was really going on in the hearts and heads of protagonist Siffrin and his companions."

Nintendo Life - 8/10 - "In Stars and Time can be unforgiving, but if you’re a sucker for story-driven RPGs with roguelite mechanics and tricky puzzles, you won’t find many better options out there."
Pocket Tactics - 9/10 - "In Stars and Time is an RPG classic waiting to happen. This game asks new questions of the time loop genre, all while developing a loveable cast of misfit heroes and a mysterious fantasy world that you’ll want to stay in forever."
But Why Tho? - 9.5/10 - "In other words, do not miss out on In Stars and Time."

Devlog #19: THE LAST DEVLOG BEFORE RELEASE.

Hello everyone! Welcome to this month’s devlog!

If you just stumbled upon this, I am Adrienne, also known as insertdisc5! I’m the developer, writer, artist, main programmer, etc of the game. The game being In Stars and Time, a timeloop RPG, which is also the next and final game in the START AGAIN series, following START AGAIN: a prologue (available here!). You can find out more about In Stars and Time here!!!

LET’S GET TO IT. This month is THE LAST DEVLOG BEFORE RELEASE?!??!??!?! URGHH?!??!!

My goodness. Can you believe In Stars and Time will finally be out THIS MONTH? NOVEMBER? TWENTIETH? TWO THOUSAND TWENTY THREE?!??!?!?!? Yeah turns out ME NEITHER so WE CAN FREAK OUT ABOUT IT TOGETHER.

So, as previously mentioned, In Stars and Time will be out on November 20th on Steam, itch.io, GOG, Nintendo Switch, and Playstation 4 and 5!!! We mentioned this previously, but we cannot guarantee they will come out at a specific time, nor guarantee they will all come out at the exact same time and hour and minute, but we will do our best! Hopefully “sometime in the morning for Canada” is the time. Don’t hold me to that though!

And for our announcement, we prepared a wonderful announcement trailer, animated by the lovely Mimi Chiu! Did you see it?!? Well, have it again.

In preparation for the release, we’ve been bringing our marketing A-game! I (insertdisc5) have appeared on The Completionist’s IndieLand Stream, and it was an absolute blast. I also reiterated my Big Hope for this game, which is that I hope ISAT makes you feel so many feelings.

We’re also doing a Fanworks Contest on Twitter, with the prize being a key of the game on release!!! If you have something in mind, why not participate? We accept EVERY kind of art, from fanart to fanfics to cosplay to animatics to memes to even pictures of food! As long as it’s ISAT related, GO FOR IT!!!

To help with that, I've slowly been posting concept art I've given Mimi so they could animate the trailer, and now here they are for your viewing pleasure. They have spoilers in them that I have very helpfully blocked out. Aren't I the nicest? You can find the concept art over on Tumblr!

And finally, every Monday until release we’ll be sharing some ISAT character playlists made by yours truly (along with some VERY MUCH NEEDED HELP from friends and family. Finding songs is hard!) You can check them out here on Spotify!

And, finally for real, mayhaps consider joining the Discord channel before all hell breaks loose. Make some friends. Show some memes. Post your last minute theories. Or maybe just lurk! Up to you and your delightful little brain.

How weird to know this is the last devlog before the release! I WILL be posting a couple more monthly devlogs after this month- I want to talk about how the release went! And even after the game comes out, there will be some fun little things in store! So please stay tuned even after the game comes out :) And as always, don’t forget to wishlist the game on Steam!!! Ok!!! Wishlist numbers this close to release are SO IMPORTANT!!!! SO PLEASE!!! I BEG!!! ON MY KNEES!!! PLEASE WISHLIST!!!! (someone does a neck cutting motion off screen) I’m told to tone it down. So PLEASE WISHLIST but like, um, only if you want, teehee <3

Thank you for following this devlog all this time. I hope you enjoy the game when it comes out later this month.

See you next time.

New Trailer + Release Date Announcement!!! ✨✨✨

We just dropped a brand new animated trailer, animated by the amazing Mimi Chiu, and we are happy to announce that In Stars and Time will be releasing for PC, Nintendo Switch, and Playstation 4/5 on November 20th, 2023. I'm using periods to sound professional and cool and above it all, but please believe me when I say I am SCREAMING INSIDE AT HOW HYPED I AM ABOUT THIS TRAILER AND THE RELEASE DATE AND THE GAME RELEASING SOON OH MY GOD AAJHDSHGSADJHASHJASHJAJSHJHAGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok

Please enjoy the trailer.

A couple facts you might be burning to know:
-Yes, the game will release on all those consoles on November 20th. We cannot guarantee they will all come out at the exact same time and hour and minute, but we will do our best.
-The game should work fine on Steam Deck, and will have Cloud Saving.
-The game will be released in English and Japanese, courtesy of Kakehashi. You'll be able to change languages at any time by going on the title screen.
-The game will be 19.99$ USD on all consoles.

I hope you enjoy the game when it comes out, again, on November 20th. Thank you for your support.
As always, don't forget to wishlist the game on Steam. Please do join our Discord server as well, if it strikes your fancy.
TALK TO YOU SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Devlog #18: Antici and Pation

Hello everyone! Welcome to this month’s devlog!

If you just stumbled upon this, I am Adrienne, also known as insertdisc5! I’m the developer, writer, artist, main programmer, etc of the game. The game being In Stars and Time, a timeloop RPG, which is also the next and final game in the START AGAIN series, following START AGAIN: a prologue (available here!). You can find out more about In Stars and Time here!!!

LET’S GET TO IT. This month is a little update on where things are! It’s very short.

We are. Preparing things. Like for example: along with Steam and itch.io, ISAT will also be on GOG for all your DRM needs!!! There will be no difference between those three versions, except Steam will have achievements. I am trying really hard to put achievements on GOG as well but do not count on it and get it on Steam if you want those sweet sweet achievos.

We are also doing some small fixes to the console versions to make sure it is perfect! I am also also fixing some illustrations to erase some little lines and fix some little things that always bothered me and only me.

Look at this. Can you tell the difference between those two pictures? WELL I CAN AND NOW IT’S SO MUCH BETTER OK.

(image courtesy of ISAT’s producer Dora. Thanks Dora. They’re different Dora. Open your eyes Dora)

In other news, ISAT was shown at Game Devs of Color Expo along with some amazing other games! You can watch the GDOC Direct right here where we premiered a small gameplay trailer, and I've timestamped it just for you.

ISAT will also be shown during Gayming Live starting on October 6th, so keep an eye out!!!

Um, that’s it! We are working hard! And. Maybe. You should. Keep an eye out. For some news. During the month of October. Wink wink. Nudge nudge. But what do I know!!!!!

That’s all I have to say for today! Let me know if you have any questions, or if there’s any aspect of the game development struggle you’d like me to talk about! See you next time!!!
AND DON’T FORGET TO WISHLIST THE GAME ON STEAM ALSO IT REALLY HELPS BECAUSE STEAM’S ALGORITHM IS MORE LIKELY TO SHOW OFF GAMES WITH A HIGH AMOUNT OF WISHLISTS THAT’S THE REASON WHY GAME DEVS ALWAYS ASK TO WISHLIST!!! OKAY BYE!!!!

Devlog #17: Certifications and Tiny Things

Hello everyone! Welcome to this month’s devlog!

If you just stumbled upon this, I am Adrienne, also known as insertdisc5! I’m the developer, writer, artist, main programmer, etc of the game. The game being In Stars and Time, a timeloop RPG, which is also the next and final game in the START AGAIN series, following START AGAIN: a prologue (available here!). You can find out more about In Stars and Time here!!!

LET’S GET TO IT. This month is certifications updates, and a teeny tiny little teaser for a little something something that will be available sometime.

I’m very happy to say ISAT has passed certification for PS4 and PS5 AND Nintendo Switch!!! My devlog was stuck on “but we’re still waiting on Nintendo” for the longest time. But today (August 30th), we are free.

“Adrienne what in the hell do certification and lotcheck mean” Babe you’re so right to ask.
So, when you want to release a game on consoles, you need to send your finished build over to the consoles, so they can approve it. And that process is called certification (for Sony) and lotcheck (for Nintendo)! This process means they’ll play the game, and make sure the build you sent them follows their specific terminology. So for example, if you have a tutorial, they’ll make sure you use “Press the O button” for Playstation, and “Press the A button” for Switch! If you fail, they send the build back telling you why you failed the certification, and you have to try the process all over again. Their goal also isn’t to get your game bug-free, although they might let you know if they encounter a bug (PS4 found a minor one).

Funny thing though. We did fail the Switch lotcheck once.
“Well why on earth did you fail it? Did you forget to update the button names or something?!” No. We failed it because one of the visual options in the game is titled “Screen Shake & Flash”.
“Well what does that option do?” It enables or disables screen shakes and flashes of bright light in the game.
“And why is the title of the option bad?” They said the use of the word “flash” was, and I quote, “problematic”.
“What. What does that mean.” Well see here’s the thing.

WE DON’T KNOW!!! Everyone from Armor Games to our porting company Ratalaika is just a big ol’ ????? over this. Nintendo did not give us more details either. This is just so funny to me. Do they think this is an option where you can enable a character flashing you. If you turn it on the King shows you his pecs. I DON’T KNOW?!?!?! Anyway we changed it to a general “Screen Effects” and we’ll rely on the option’s description to tell you what it does. That was the lotcheck theater minute, thank you for tuning in.

In other news, uh, that’s it? Now that the certifications are done, we’ll be working on a couple of issues left, doing some playtesting, preparing secrets, etc. Yep, that’s it for sure. Nothing teeny tiny to show.

That’s all I have to say for today! Let me know if you have any questions, or if there’s any aspect of the game development struggle you’d like me to talk about! See you next time!!!

…Huh? What? I forgot the tiny little teaser? Oh, alright, fine.

Here it is.

What on earth could this be…?

Alright, bye for real <3
AND DON’T FORGET TO WISHLIST THE GAME ON STEAM ALSO IT REALLY HELPS BECAUSE STEAM’S ALGORITHM IS MORE LIKELY TO SHOW OFF GAMES WITH A HIGH AMOUNT OF WISHLISTS THAT’S THE REASON WHY GAME DEVS ALWAYS ASK TO WISHLIST!!! OKAY BYE!!!!

Devlog #16: Answers and Questions

Hello everyone! Welcome to this month’s devlog!

If you just stumbled upon this, I am Adrienne, also known as insertdisc5! I’m the developer, writer, artist, main programmer, etc of the game. The game being In Stars and Time, a timeloop RPG, which is also the next and final game in the START AGAIN series, following START AGAIN: a prologue (available here!). You can find out more about In Stars and Time here!!!

LET’S GET TO IT. This month is Q&A: Cohost edition!

“A Q&A again?” Heheh well I don’t have anything to talk about this month ✨ We’re working hard on finalizing the localization! And on porting to consoles! And on secret stuff! You know, the usual!!! Get excited!!! So, Q&A again 💖 And see, I asked questions for Q&As on Twitter. On Tumblr. On Discord. But some new social media platforms have entered the fray. SO.

Welcome to Q&A: Cohost edition. (Follow me on cohost and/or read this post I wrote about why I think cohost is neat teehee) (and follow me on bluesky if you want. I like it way less though. Sorry bluesky)

@ItsMeLilyV asks:

One of the bits of advice that gets tossed around by indie devs is to avoid making RPGs, especially for your first few games, because they tend to be large in scope, difficult to prototype, and easy to underestimate.

Was this ever a fear for you in making START AGAIN, or In Stars and Time? Did you take any special precaution to keep these games within a scope you could handle, and did you learn tricks from START AGAIN that carried over to ISAT when in came to keeping things manageable? Thank you!! ✨

I had no idea that was a piece of advice given, but yep, that makes a lot of sense! Since I didn’t know, I went in blissfully aware, teehee.

I will say that I am familiar with working on big projects from working on comics, and with seeing big webcomic artists always mention to never start with your magnum opus… And I could tell ISAT had the potential to be way bigger than I imagined, which is why I decided to start with creating the prologue to get used to RPGMaker as well as making games. Kind of a pilot of sorts!

Again, thanks to comics, I know to keep my scope pretty small, because even if you keep it small it WILL balloon into something way bigger than you thought. Just for the prologue, I imagined it’d be a 20mn game, and it’s easily a 2-3h one! Keep your scope small!!!

As for tricks, when I catch myself thinking “wow what if I added this cool thing”, I try to always keep in mind those two things: 1. How long will it take to implement (including bug testing), and 2. Does it add something important to the game. I know we always want to add a fishing game, or a fun minigame, but do you Need It. Does it add something substantial to the story, to the Themes. Or are you just adding it because you like fishing games. Which is a valid reason, but also, maybe just make a fishing game instead. You are not the Yakuza series!!!! You are a small indie gamedev!!!! Think about you in 4 months who has to fix all the fishing game bugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@stem asks:

how is it to have a piece of art that's basically done (as far as i understand) that you can't share yet? like how do you personally bide the time until it's finally ready to release, or is it not really a challenge to wait? :0c

It’s so weird!!! The game has been done for so long!!! I’m very glad I asked some friends to playtest the game, so I could at least get some feedback before the game is out… In some ways it feels like the game will be done twice: once back when I finished making the game, and once when the game actually comes out. It’s just a very strange experience. Sometimes people tell me they’re excited to find out more about this story beat, or about this character, and a part of me is like… Wait, haven't you played the game? Oh, yeah, it’s not actually out. Guess you’ll find out later.

EDIT: My god. I just checked on my private devlog for when I completed the Alpha of ISAT. It was in August of last year (I lay down on the floor and look at the ceiling) (I still had to finish all the illustrations so really the game was Done Donezo in October but still…)

anon asked:

What role did Armor Games play in creating the final product?

SO MANY THINGS. Here are some of them: support when it comes to porting/marketing/social media/localization, feedback on the game and how to make it better, community guidance, testing support, QA/internal testing… The game couldn’t be the way it is without them.

For more small details, I have a weekly meeting with my producer, Dora! We talk about the game and how everything is going. A couple months back, I also was checking in with the internal QA team fairly often to fix any remaining bugs. They also helped me find ISAT’s additional programmer, Isabella, and she is a godsend because coding is hard. They also take care of communicating with press, finding more opportunities to showcase the game in conventions, talking with the localization/porting teams… I am probably forgetting a thousand little things they did to help out!!! THEY’RE SO GOOD OK

Anon asked:

So obviously the skills/spells/what have you are based off of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Did you design each "type" to be like a certain style? Rock being heavy damage and defense buffs, scissors being speed and quick attacks, like that?

Absolutely! I just went with the obvious. Rock is physical damage, defense focused, Scissors is swords, attack focused, and Paper is magic, mind focused. It was fun to develop a spell system around those! I’m excited for people to find out more about Craft…

@nickshutter asks:

I really loved START AGAIN (streamed it for a small handful of friends) and was super happy to hear about a follow-up! The cast is so much fun and their personalities are really well-balanced—did any of the characters change pretty drastically from their initial conception during development of the game?

I’m so glad you streamed it with friends… I hope you had a good fun time…

And for sure! Isabeau and Mirabelle were pretty set from the get go (himbo and shy wallflower), but Odile started as more of a gentle teacher type, even if I very quickly went the snarky old lady route. Siffrin and Bonnie were harder to pin down– I wasn’t sure how to portray Siffrin’s despair in the prologue, and started showing them more overtly depressed, but I thought it’d be Very Yummy to have them show a happy facade to their friends. And then, for ISAT, I had to figure out what a non-depressed Siffrin would be like, for the first couple acts of the game before the despair sets in. As for Bonnie, I had a lot of trouble figuring out what they’d be like, what kind of kid they were, what their relationship with everyone else would be like, and then I thought about what their past would be like and then their characterization was set in stone. Sometimes you need to figure out One Thing to unlock a character’s brain. I’m very excited for everyone to find out more about each character in ISAT!

@SuperBiasedGary asks:

What games (or other media) lit a fire under you to create your own?
It could be stuff you liked so much it inspired, something you found frustrating because you felt an itch to do it differently, or something that made you realise humans make things and you could be one of them.

I found a lot of indie games inspiring, but I think Umineko might’ve been the one that made me go… Oh, anyone can just make a massive video game narrative. And you can make it very simple, with kinda goofy sprites, and still manage to make an incredibly touching story!

As for frustrating games that lit a fire under me, I think I’d say in general, I found issue with the classic trope of the “main character helps people and doesn’t get anything back”. What often happens in some games is that you help NPCs with their problems, sometimes helping them with very intense, complicated problems! For a very long time! And, in exchange, you get… A cool item? A nice new skill? And that’s it?

I know this might be complicated to implement on a narrative perspective, but I remember playing Persona 5, and your character just went through a very harrowing experience (like, oh, being INTERROGATED AND TORTURED BY THE POLICE) and you help your friends during social links, and they go “thanks for your help! Bye~” like WHAT ABOUT ME. WHAT ABOUT MY PROBLEMS. CAN YOU GIVE ME A HUG

So on a certain level, I wanted a game where instead of the characters around you having problems, the main character also has problems. And is subconsciously screaming “CAN YOU PLEASE NOTICE I HAVE PROBLEMS AND GIVE ME A HUG.” And hopefully, the characters notice. Winks

Hm. I do want to say I wrote most of the prologue/ISAT during the pandemic, and I felt very lonely and not supported. But then guess what. I told my friends about how I felt. And most of them told me they had no idea, and vowed to support me more. And now I’m closer to them. So the moral of this answer is, yeah, it’d be nice if people noticed, but also, you need to tell people when you’re feeling bad. LOOKS AT SIFFRIN

Anon asked:

Is there a song you listen to in order to put yourself in the sasasa/ISAT mindset?

I have a whole playlist baybee. Before you ask: there aren’t any hidden meanings behind those song choices. It’s about the Mood, and also my personal tastes in music I listen to when I need to concentrate. I like songs that go WUB WUB

In no particular order, here are five random songs I played on repeat when making the prologue:

  • Future Club (Arcade Version) by Perturbator (in bold because this was THE song I listened to on repeat. I believe I gave it to Lindar for inspiration lol)
  • Arcades by C2C
  • Wake Me Up by Para One
  • The First Wish by DROELOE
  • Les Enfants du Paradis by World’s End Girlfriend

And here are five random songs I played on repeat for In Stars and Time:

  • Down by Chloe x Halle
  • Nonsense Bungaku by Eve
  • Non-Breathe Oblige by PinocchioP
  • Gentle Heart by Jamie Paige
  • Ready For The Floor by Hot Chip

It’s interesting, the songs I listened to for the prologue are generally more heavy and frenetic, while the ones for ISAT are more hopeful… I made sure to listen to more lively songs for ISAT, since that’s the feeling I wanted to give off…

That’s all the answers I have! Thank you to everyone that sent in a question!!!

In other, non related ISAT news, I have started a new project and having a lot of fun. It’s a visual novel this time. I’m hoping to get some screenshots ready in the next few months, but also I’m taking it easy on this one. If it takes years with many breaks in between to get it done, it’s fine. What matters to me right now is the process!

Devlog #15: Steam Next Fest and Recap

Hello everyone! Welcome to this month’s devlog!

If you just stumbled upon this, I am Adrienne, also known as insertdisc5! I’m the developer, writer, artist, main programmer, etc of the game. The game being In Stars and Time, a timeloop RPG, which is also the next and final game in the START AGAIN series, following START AGAIN: a prologue (available here!). You can find out more about In Stars and Time here!!!

So many things happened this month!!! Let's go in order.

In Stars and Time was showcased at The Mix, a games showcase in LA! Or, well... That was the plan.

The Mix got canceled. Which sucks.
But!!! Thankfully, Jirard the Completionist acted immediately and streamed a bunch of the demos over on Twitch! You can watch my producer Dora and marketing coordinator Ariana present the game to Jirard over here! Thank you for playing so many demos, Jirard!!!

After that, we showed a new small gameplay trailer during Future of Play! It includes two little scenes you may not have seen yet :3c As well as a little announcement!

Yes, you saw that right. In addition to PC and Nintendo Switch, In Stars and Time will also be coming to Playstation 4 and 5 at release!!! YAHOO!!!

And then. Steam Next Fest. Steam Next Fest is one of Steam's events where a bunch of devs can show off demos for their game! And ISAT was in it!!! Steam Next Fest is over, but did you know you can still play the ISAT demo? DID YOU KNOW?!? One week is not enough time to experience all the games Steam Next Fest has to offer, so we’ve decided to keep it online a bit longer! Go play it! Go!!!

We have gotten so many compliments and messages about how people loved the demo, and I couldn't be happier!!! I think I watched all the times people streamed the demo, and it was so fun to see people's reactions... It made my heart feel so warm... Thank you to everyone who played the demo, wishlisted the game, or said the game looked cool!!! (And yes I've been taking notes and I will change some stuff in the full release. I promise Sif won't say there's only one stool in a room when there's clearly three!!!!!)

As part of Steam Next Fest, I did a livestream of the demo for one hour!!! I got to play the demo, answer questions, and talk with a bunch of lovely fans <3 It was so fun, it made me want to stream more... One day, perhaps...
If you missed it, you can watch the recorded stream here!

And on the development side, the console ports and the localization are chugga-chugga-chuggin'! We are working hard to fix some little bugs and add some small QOL updates.

And, oh! Someone over on Tumblr asked me about how I did the battle AI in the demo, as well as attack patterns. Here's a little passage to wet your appetite:

You can read the whole thing over on Tumblr!!!

And as a last little note, START AGAIN: a prologue, ISAT’s prototype, is on sale over on Steam and Itch.io! It’s not necessary to play to understand ISAT, but mayhaps… You’d like to play it anyway…?

Demo is back for Steam Next Fest + Dev Livestream!!!

Did you miss the In Stars and Time demo back in September 2022? FEAR NOT! The demo is back for a limited time during Steam Next Fest, from June 19th to the 26th!

The demo is a little over an hour long, and showcases the first floor of the House, the big dungeon in the game. You'll get the opportunity to test some battles, experience the funny banter, and read Siffrin's impeccable puns. I hope you like it!

Note: As this demo contains a modified version of the game's start to get you into the action as soon as possible, your progression will not carry over into the full game when it launches next year.

Note the second: it's the same as the demo we had back in Sept of last year!

As a side note, I (the main dev) will be livestreaming In Stars and Time Tuesday the 20th at 10am EDT! I will be playing the demo and answering all your fun questions. You can set a reminder for it here!

Don't forget to wishlist the game if you like it!!! It would mean a lot!!! Have a fun Steam Next Fest everyone!!!
