The Colorful Update! - Version 1.7.0 - You now have access to a color picker! - The color picker lets you change slide, marble, and background colors! - Fixed bug with marbles getting stuck in late-game pieces. - Fixed various other bugs. - There are more changes to come soon to prepare for leaving Early Access on Steam!
It's finally here, the "Colorful" update!
Hey there, marble heads!
It's been a long time coming but the #1 requested feature is finally here!
You can now change the colors of marbles, slides, and even the background! You edit the current color palette to your liking and go wild. If you want to reset the palette to default colors, you can toggle the Holiday theme.
The #2 requested feature is actually a bug fix: The late-game pieces now have boosters in them to keep the marbles flowing. I also discovered a bug related to any overlapping pieces (like the criss-cross and loops) that would get marbles stuck that should now be fixed.
Otherwise, this includes all the bug fixes I could get in since the last release.
I hope you're all enjoying the game! I'm planning on adding a volume slider, trying to make the Twitch integration smoother, and fixing up whatever else feels necessary to leave Early Access before the end of the year. Thanks for your support!
And one last thing:
PLEASE LEAVE A REVIEW OF THE GAME!
A colorful, nice 1.6.9 update on the public beat-test branch!
Hey there marble lovers! There's an update on the public beta-test branch that's a basically-finished version of the next major patch, bringing IncrediMarble very close to a state in which it will leave Early Access!
To play this new version, right click IncrediMarble in your Steam library, select "properties," then "Betas," and click the drop-down and choose "beta-test - The open beta test branch." Your game should update and you'll be introduced to the most colorful new feature IncrediMarble will ever receive.
Note: If you're worried about bugs, you can backup your save at (for Windows users) C:\Users\\AppData\LocalLow\Fun First\IncrediMarble\ManualSave00.json (Mac/Linux users need to figure out where this file is on their own. Sorry, I forgot!)
So, what's new? 2 major things. 1: If your platform's native language doesn't use the period character for decimal points, the game should now properly save and load for you! 2: Click on a marble dispenser or click on the slide color panel to see a new rainbow-colored marble button. Click that to see the new color picker! You can use this to edit the color palettes that are, of course, used to change the colors of your slides! New palettes have also been added so you can change the colors of your marbles and the background. You can also choose to randomize the colors of every marble spawned!
Extra Notes: - Changing the theme will change all palettes back to their default colors. - Currently, the holiday theme does not allow setting marble colors. - There are still a few more user requested changes I want to make before making the 1.7.0 release to the public. - The news panel is a little out of date.
Let me know via contact@incredimarble.com if you face any problems. Thanks for testing!
Regional pricing has been updated.
Considering I haven't updated the pricing since the original release and the economy has shifted around the Globe, I figured I would update the regional pricing for everyone outside the US. So if you've had the game wishlisted for a while and are still on the fence, hopefully the pricing better fits your budgetary needs!
The US price remains unchanged... which is, in a way, its own discount. ;) Have fun!
Motorized Update - Version 1.6 released!
Welcome to IncrediMarble 1.6!
It may not seem like much but a few important changes have been made to the game's engine to allow for better updates in the future. First is the floating UI element that you'll see when highlighting any piece that has a wheel or a marble spawner. You're now able to use this floating UI to enable and disable the motor on any wheel piece. The "spawn randomly" button has now been moved to this UI element as well for the marble spawners. If you didn't know about it, this allows marbles to be much less determinate in how they move down your slide tower. It's not the most popular game feature but it's a solid use case for future implementations of this new UI element.
Another important change is save file size. Sizes are now 30% smaller! Although this doesn't really seem like it matters considering the save files are already very tiny, it's super important in copying save file text to the clipboard. Although you aren't yet able to transfer saves between platforms, you will eventually, and having these save file text strings be smaller is really important in usability.
For folks who have trouble with the end-game, I've actually increased the late-game earnings by about 500% to help you out. Have fun!
Finally, a tiny change that anyone with a problem will be happy to have: You can just click a button to copy the save file text to your clipboard for e-mailing to me, the developer, for debugging. Considering I'll probably never be able to fix every single bug in the game, this will be a relief for anyone who wishes to submit any reports.
I really wish I could've left early access in the summer but I've been lazy. Sorry. It'll happen someday, I promise.
Holiday Update - IncrediMarble version 1.5!
Happy Holidays to all you marble heads!
There's a small pile of presents for you with this major update:
A new piece has been made that initiates a marble race mode! Click the checkered flag in the bottom left to try it out!
A limited-time Winter theme has been added. Enable this in the options panel.
Also in the options panel, the ability to enable the experimental multi-piece selection. Please enable it and give it a try!
As usual, a bunch of bug fixes and backend improvements were made that I can't keep track of and, honestly, would make you yawn if I listed them. Trust. ;)
Multi-slide selection boxes now live in the beta branch.
Hello marble heads! I hope you've all had a great summer!
I've added a new beta branch for all three platforms to Steam so experimental IncrediMarble updates can get delivered to you for testing. This new beta test version of IncrediMarble will share the save file you have for the release version of the game. In other words, this is cross-save compatible! In order to access the new beta, simply right click IncrediMarble in your Steam Library, choose properties, select betas, and choose beta-test from the dropdown.
This version of IncrediMarble allows you to either hold the right mouse button to create a selection box or hold the Control key while left clicking on pieces. There are still some kinks to work out with this new feature:
You currently cannot left-click drag the window around while keeping multiple pieces selected.
Piece highlighting (both visual and mechanical) may be unacceptably wrong.
Pieces will scrunch up along borders. (Some might consider this a feature?)
If you find any other problems with the beta, please report them in the forums. If you find a problem which causes an extreme need for a save file reversion, be sure to check out the emergency autosave load buttons in the help panel.
Thanks for checking out the beta. Have fun!
Hotfix Patch 07/03/2021
The curious case of the missing marbles is hotfixed again.
