DEMO Version 2.0 released!!!
Today I released the new Demo of Insect Worlds
- In this version, you can play with 2 insects. (Selectable via Cards-Menue).
- Full Map Learning sequence navigation
- Leptoglossus Sequences increased from 3 to 4.
- One new learning story (Sirphus ribesii)
- Tutorial Sequence added (Preview of other insects)
- Better graphics (eg. Godrays, moss, wind particles)
- More Objects
- More Plants to explore
- Healthbar
- Blood splashes
- Improved fog
- Splitscreen Multiplayer Mode, selectable via settings (Beta)
- Splitscreen supports 2 Gamepads or 2 mice + Keyboard or mixed.

I will be presenting Insect Worlds on Thursday, August 25th at Gamescom Cologne at the "Medien Digital Land NRW" booth in the business area.

Insect selection menu & release date
Unfortunately, the release of "insect worlds" is delayed again. In order to have a better gaming experience, I decided to give more time to the development. There are other reasons as well. But a demo update with new content will appear in the next 2 weeks. Including the insect selection menu, another insect, and the lexicon. I will keep you up to date.
Today the concept demo version of "Insect Worlds" has finally been released!
Optimized for an ultra-wide exploring experience (e.g. 3840*1080 or 5120*1440).
The Demo Version is restricted to 1/3 of the final map size. The plants density will be higher in the final product. You can only play one insect in the demo, examine a total of 6 Objects, learn about the Leptoglossus Occidentalis in three parts and play a running time trial mini-game along a track. I missed finishing a startup tutorial which will be updated for this demo in the next week. But for the controlling settings, you have to inspect the settings menu and click on the controller.
The flying endurance of some insects will be increased and can be upgraded in the final game. There will be also three other racing mini-game types like "flying parkour" or a river like "stream" racing, swamp swim-racing and an ant nest fight mode. There will be much more content to explore, examine and learning cutscenes.
In the final game, you can use the lexicon with a collection of insects and plants you already discovered.
There would be 14 insects to play (including learning cutscenes in different parts) :
- Leptoglossus Occidentalis (flying)
- Typhaeus typhoeus (flying)
- Syrphus ribesii (hover fly)
- European Mantis (flying)
- Dytiscus marginalis (flying and swimming)
- Graphosoma lineatum (flying)
- Saperda Candida (flying)
- Cicindela (fast running & flying) [DEMO Insekt]
- earthworm
- Tettigonia viridissima (flying grashopper)
- Camponotus (ant)
- Aeshna cyanea (Dragonfly) (fast hover flying)
- Pyrochroidae (flying)
special scene insects (not European insects):
- Odontomachus (ant)
I already found some bugs in the demo, yes not the real ones, I mean the bad bugs :D
I will fix these things together with a tutorial.
