Dear friends of basketball,

We would like to share the immense happiness that each member of U-PLAY Studios is feeling today. We built this company some years ago with the main objective of developing a basketball manager game which satiated the needs of the fans. Bit by bit we reached every milestone and our first game –Pro Basket Manager– featured some of the best basketball licenses worldwide (EuroLeague, ACB and tens of European competitions more). The game was very positively reviewed by press and users.

We then wanted to exceed ourselves and create a better game to reach more users. We had to make it profitable enough as to release a new game every season. We invested a lot of time and money, we increased the amount of official licenses and we became the first game in history to feature both the NBA and other licenses altogether.

In order to emphasize the growth of the product and it’s interest worldwide, we changed the name to International Basketball Manager and we signed a deal with a global publisher who claimed that every point in the globe could be reached.

It was August 2010 and everything was ready to launch the game worldwide and begin our plan to become the Football Manager of basketball… but something happened. The publisher we trusted went bankrupt and our plans drowned as well. Due to these issues, the game was released in Spain and in a couple of games more only. We had no marketing campaign whatsoever and the studio was close to shutting down.

With the game blocked by a a publisher going bankrupt, we had to resign from making new versions of the game. We were forced to give up the development of the game and start making other projects which, luckily enough, let us grow professionally. However, we have always felt peckish about bringing back our star saga to life.

Between the process for releasing International Basketball Manager and the publisher’s bankrupt there were quite a few months of development of an unfinished game –the development was cancelled, actually.

It was just a few months ago that our studio considered the possibility of completing our dream of making basketball management games.

And so we did. We grabbed this project which got half finished only and we’ve developed it for a few months, and finally we’ve got our brand new International Basketball Manager.

We are very happy to publish this game again, but it’s important to note that the game is not the one we wished at that time. This is a project in Early Access because we expect you to help us improve it and complete it so, altogether, we can create the Football Manager awaited by basketball fans –including the best licenses of the world.

At this point we want to thank Euroleague Basketball for trusting in our project and for letting us use their license for season 2017-18 in order to make th game more attractive and more realistic.

Last but not least, we just want to mention the fact that this is a long term project and the first step after coming to a sudden stop. International Basketball Manager is not a perfect game, this is why the game goes underpriced during the Early Access period. However, it is a game heartly made by basketball lovers and we hope to get your help so we can, the sooner the better, year after year, have our own game.

We wish that you enjoy the game and please be patient with it and with our studio. ;)

Thank you all.
