Iron Meat

This Time, You Must Reveal the Monster Within!

Who made these renovations?! We're featuring the Monster House boss once again--now with a couple of updated looks and attacks!

1. Four Mouths, Four Fireballs

One of the most notable changes to this boss includes its initial attack, featuring four mouths embedded into its walls! Rather than launching a spread of fireballs from its central eye, each of the mouths will spew out one fireball!

2. Falling Debris

In addition, what was once a separate “attack” in its previous version has now combined with the first! As you dodge the fireballs coming from the four mouths, be mindful of the falling building debris–indicated by the redesigned red target marks!

3. The Twins, Unchanged

Next, it’s the same twins you know and love from the original version of the fight! You can expect the orange fireball patterns from the left, and the blue cascading fireballs from the right!

4. Spinning Twins, Once More

And like the previous attack, this one’s more of the same, as well. The twin appendages will spin around each other, causing one fireball to cascade on the platform, while the other tries to track the player’s position!

5. Revealing the Monster

After defeating the appendages, the building wall will collapse, revealing the familiar eyeball monstrosity within! Just like the previous version of the fight, you’ll want to target the central eyeball with your shots! Beware of the spawning Blats and Dragonflies in the meantime!

You can face the newly updated Monster House boss in the Iron Meat demo available NOW!

The Tank Boss - Revisited

Get an in-depth look at the Forest level’s Tank Boss following the demo’s latest update!

One of the first design changes was having the boss enter from the right as usual, but now we’ve added dead and infected bodies on the ground to give a sense of dread at the first boss fight.

Updated Visuals - Old and New!

The boss itself has undergone a significant redesign! We wanted to move away from presenting the Tank as just a...well, tank...that was overgrown with Meat tendrils and flesh. Lead game developer Ivan took things a step further by giving the boss a gaping mouth and eyes to make it even more frightening!

OLD VERSION:

NEW VERSION:

Meat Round & Energy Cannon!

One big change to the Tank boss pertains to its opening attack, where it used to fire two energy projectiles from its main and lower cannons. HOWEVER! The updated demo now replaces the top energy projectile with a solid Meat round, which, like the blue energy projectile in the previous version, will float up and down after it’s fired.

Double Particle Radiation Beam!

Another change involves the Tank boss’s second attack, which further punishes any player who is foolish enough to jump. While the attack may look cool, you’ll still want to go prone to avoid the radiation beams!

Toxic Rain - Once Again!

One attack that hasn’t gone through any significant changes is the Toxic Rain! Like the previous version of the fight, the boss will shoot out multiple toxic bubbles that will multiply into even more bubbles as they descend towards the ground! And just like the previous version, you’ll want to shoot at the bubbles in the air to eliminate them before they reach you!

We've got more updates on the way, so be on the lookout for the next transmission!

1. Monster at the Bottom

Ivan: Previously, there was no mouth down in the bushes at these drops in the level. Bullets used to just fly out of there from nothing. Now, the bullets are launched from this mouth and it can be killed!

2. Meatified "Underground" Turrets

3. Visual Redesign of the "Indoskeleton" Enemy

4. Redesign of Side Turrets

Ivan: The new turret appears seemingly healthy, but after its destruction, it is clear it was infected by the Meat!

5. Change to Electric Wires

Ivan: Bare wires with electricity appear only on the “Hard” difficulty. They are very annoying to the players, so I decided to leave them only for hardcore players.

6. Signs of Carnage

Ivan: There are now corpses of soldiers lying around, which the Meat could not turn into monsters. The Tank boss, when it appears on the battlefield, now crushes these corpses.

"I'd Like to See Your Boss!" #3 - The House

After fighting through The Meat's citywide haven, Vadim comes across an infected building with a single eye gazing down at him!

Fire Bursts!

Look out! The first attack from this boss is a barrage of fireballs shooting out from the eyeball in multiple directions! Find the gaps along their streaks and dodge them!

Falling Debris!

As a follow-up to the fire bursts, the boss will force down several chunks of building debris onto the road platform Vadim is standing on! Be mindful of where the red target icons appear and watch where you step!

Twin Appendages!

The third type of attack will come in the form of two appendages with enormous mouths at their ends! But these mouths aren't interested in taking a bite out of Vadim! As with the first attack, these twin appendages will either rain down fireballs (orange) at Vadim or cause fireballs to cascade up and down along the platform (blue). Time your jumps and focus your fire on one of the twin heads!

Twin Fire Patterns!

Following the previous attack, the twin appendages will rotate their heads around each other, causing both a wave of fire to travel along the platform back and forth, as well as launching a single fireball at a time. Jump over the fire wave and avoid the fireballs!

The Eye & Its Minions!

For its last attack, the boss will summon four creature spawners that will each constantly bring out one Blat or Dragonfly monster to maintain four flying monsters at once! At this point, players can choose to destroy one or all of the creature spawners to give themselves relief from the constantly-appearing Blats and Dragonflys, or they can choose to focus solely on the boss's one eyeball for a quicker victory!

Stay tuned for more updates! We'll be sharing even more as we move along with Iron Meat's development!

Taking the Fight to the City!

It’s time to cleanse the streets of The Meat! Take a look at what to expect in Iron Meat’s City level!

The Home of the Meat

A formerly bustling metropolitan city has now become the den of The Meat! Arm yourself and take on hordes of Meat-infected Humans and vehicles, and watch out for Eyesticks and hazardous plumes of toxic waste!

Infected Cars, Again and Again

Watch out! You’ll encounter two Meat-infected cars, known as “AMIBs,” that can spawn both eggs and creepy little “Grubs” that crawl ever slowly to your position!

Floating Skulls

As you make your way through the city, you’ll find several open fissures in the ground with living batches of skulls rising from the depths of the Meatified ground! On easier difficulties, you can shoot these rising obstacles with ease and watch them collapse into bones.

On the hardest difficulty, you’ll want to pay attention to skull batches that are glowing blue! These are mixed in with the normal skull batches, and they’ll launch one blue plasma round upon destruction, so be mindful about when or if you want to shoot these!

The Monster House

Before you can clear the City zone, you’ll encounter a terrifying Meat creature that has ingrained itself into a building! With only a single eyeball as its vulnerable point, this monster is able to perform a plethora of attacks!

Dodge fire trails, watch out for falling debris, and more as you struggle to not become this monster’s next meal!

Who’s Running this Train?!

WARNING: Passengers May be Infected Personnel!

Get ready to fight against hordes upon hordes of Meat-infected Humans, vehicles, and other monstrosities on board this train!

Watch out for infected Humans riding on stolen jet bikes! They’ll constantly fire orange plasma projectiles at Vadim, so don’t let them linger for too long!

Onboard Obstacles

You’ll find a host of new Meat obstacles much unlike those found in the Forest level. For starters, you’ll find a few “Eyesticks” making a new home for themselves on some rail platforms and box cars. These function like turrets and they fire spinning diamond projectiles! Eliminate these eyesores and keep moving!

Take the low road when they take the high road! Some box cars are passable through the inside–meaning, you can choose to go through them rather than moving on their tops. The catch is: you’ll find the interiors taken over by ravenous Meat Incisors! These mouths will constantly chomp away as they wait for new prey to chew on. These obstacles can’t be shot at or destroyed, so time it right and run through them!

Waiting at the middle of the level is a fleshy outgrowth consuming a piece of mechanical debris! You can see that its tendrils have all but expanded through the couple of passenger cars it now inhabits. Similar to the Meatified Tank from the Forest level, when detecting nearby prey, this Meat amalgamation will secrete toxic bubbles into the air to poison any ill-equipped foes. Shoot these bubbles out of the air before they get to you!

Floating Cars

As you travel along the tops of both normal and infected passenger carriages, you’ll come across multiple military cars commandeered by Meatified Humans!

Armed with the skills from their infected hosts, these monstrous Meat Humanoids can launch several rockets into the air and toward Vadim! Evade the rockets and blast these formerly allied vehicles to smithereens!

Oh, and you’ll want to watch your back, too! Hordes of Meat creatures will occasionally charge at Vadim from either side, so be careful!

Iron Serpent Boss

At the very front of the train, you’ll find its head and the passenger cars closest to it have all been infected by The Meat! Take down this dangerous boss as it summons Blats, charges into walls, excretes blue plasma, and vomits the remains of its past victims!

Outbreak Zone: Forest

Launching a Counterattack!

After receiving an alert about the Meat's rapid spread across the region, Vadim begins a defensive sweep of the Forest Zone with the Earth Counter Invasion Force (ECIF)! Initially armed with a standard-issue Normal Energy Rifle (N), Vadim makes his way through hordes of Meat creatures, infected turrets, and monstrously Meat-ified vehicles!

As he advances through the Forest, Vadim will come across a couple of ECIF outposts--either stationed with friendly soldiers ready to supply Vadim with a new weapon upgrade, or a band of infected Meat creatures using it as a new home!

Friendly Outpost:

Infected Outpost:

Meaty Obstacles!

Throughout the Forest Zone, Vadim will encounter infected turrets once under the control of the Earth Counter Invasion Force. These turrets will shoot burning projectiles that will cause a brief wave of fire to cascade along the ground.

Infected ECIF Vehicles

In addition to the gun turrets, Vadim will encounter a few military vehicles infected by The Meat! With their lethal capabilities and their potential to spread even more mayhem to other areas, their destruction is of utmost import!

At the end of the Forest Zone, an infected tank awaits Vadim. Armed with a plasma cannon, a radiation beam, and a brain that can excrete a rain of toxic bubbles, this "Boss" class enemy will stop at nothing to crush all foes before it!

“I’d Like to See Your Boss!” #2 - The Iron Serpent

// ALERT! “Boss” Class Enemy Inbound! //

The absolute abomination that is this Meat-ified train boss makes for an ultimate battle between prey and predator! Fight, destroy, or be consumed…

With the temporary designation of “Carrionvoy,” this dangerous enemy has claimed too many lives of the Earth Counter Invasion Force.

Get to know this fierce foe before heading out!

Summoning Blats!

Not the least among this creature’s attacks is its initial roar, which summons a group of Blat monsters hiding in the underground train yard. These Blats will fly toward you in zigzagging patterns, so be sure to bring weapons–like the (H) Heavy Capsule Launcher or the (S) Shotgun Spreader–that cover a wider, vertical range. And don’t forget! You can still damage the Carrionvoy itself while the Blats fly to you, though it’s advised you deal with them first!

Ceiling Collapse!

After you’ve dispatched a Blat group, or if some of them get away, the Carrionvoy will charge and crash into the foundation of the train yard, causing some parts of the fragile ceiling to fall! Be wary of these debris chunks, and get between them quickly!

Burning Plasma & Plasma Spills!

The Carrionvoy can also raise itself over the rail platform to open its bodily pores on its left side. These pores can then shoot out burning blue plasma projectiles from their mouths that spin in pairs toward you. Destroying the mouths will harm the Carrionvoy, but be careful! The exposed pores will still continue to spill out blue plasma, which can still melt through armor and kill you! Once all six mouths are destroyed, the Carrionvoy will move to its final phase!

Gore Vomit!

Using its stored up food in its elongated bowels, the Carrionvoy will vomit the remains of its victims onto the rail platform! Run away as the boss vomits, then duck beneath it to avoid even more of its disgusting innards. Shoot at the Carrionvoy as it passes above you, and when it moves back to the right!

With the right maneuvering, skillful aiming, and perhaps a bit of luck, only the most daring of soldiers will be able to take down this ravenous Iron Serpent!

Combating the Meat With Extra-Lethal, Extra-Helpful Passive Abilities

Humanity’s arsenal isn’t limited to just guns of all types and rates-of-fire! Here’s a breakdown of two passive abilities that can be found throughout your crusade against The Meat invasion!

Rapid Fire

Denoted by a golden lightning bolt symbol, the Rapid Fire passive can appear from either floating ally drones, or from destructible objects.

As its name suggests, the Rapid Fire passive will allow your player-character to increase their rate-of-fire for a limited amount of time. This is typically a godsend in most situations, as you are able to quickly dispatch more enemies than usual.

Depending on the weapon you have equipped, utilizing this passive can yield promising results–enabling you to take down obstructions and mid-level enemies with ease. Use good judgment and make the most of Rapid Fire whenever you acquire it!

Omni-Shot

Denoted by a golden symbol of projectiles in a circle, the Omni-shot can also be found from ally drones or level objects.

The Omni-Shot is a powerful passive that fires plasma bolts in eight directions from the center of the player-character’s sprite. This ability allows players to cover every direction as they move through a level.

Using this passive can help ensure enemy mobs that appear behind you are dealt with easily. With Omni-Shot active, you can focus on the enemies directly in front of you, rather than turning around or maneuvering to take shots at enemies above or below you!
