Support Special Effect for One Special Day: 15th July 2016
Hey everyone!
Tomorrow (Friday 15th July) we are taking part in the One Special Day charity drive to raise money for the gamers charity Special Effect . We will be donating the profits from every single game that we sell tomorrow to Special Effect to support the amazing work they do to make games accessible to everyone. This includes all our games on Steam and also our console and mobile games.
If you would like to support Special Effect, this is a really easy way to do so whilst bagging a new game at the same time.
We are also hosting a 6 hour One Special Day Twitch stream tomorrow, from 11am - 5pm (UK time). Hollie, Mike and Michelle will be playing through the Ripstone catalogue throughout the day, with code giveaways, competitions, developer chats and much more. We would love to see some of you in the chat on Friday to show your support for Special Effect!
As the title states, following on from our announcement earlier this week - there are now two new Commanders and two new Ironcasts available to help you in your mission.
Each pack is priced at £2.99 / €3.99 / $3.99 & includes an Ironcast & a Commander.
The Stirling Pack which includes a brand new Ironcast named ‘The Stirling’; as well as a new Commander. The Stirling utilises a magnetic limpet cannon to blast an enemy target with electrical energy. Commander Katherine Chapman’s signature augmentation has a chance to reward players who match long chains of nodes with additional resources of every type. In addition, she has double the chance to locate rare blueprints on fallen enemies.

The Windsor Pack includes ‘The Windsor’ Ironcast which uses a unique device to steal a layer of shield defences from its opponent, weakening them whilst improving its own defences. It also includes a new Commander Henry Brent whose signature augmentation rewards players who match long chains of nodes with a temporary shield boost. In addition, his Ironcast always begins the game with an active shield layer.

Ironcast 1.1.1 Update is now live!
Good day, Commanders!
We have a small update for Ironcast today. Let's get into it!
Removed Scrap nodes from the boss encounters.
Fixed an issue where starting a new game after completing the campaign would not create a completely fresh game save.
Fixed a small error on the Global Reward screen, where XP and Scrap boosters showed the incorrect % amount (but were still awarding the correct % amount).
That's all for now! Grab the latest patch and let us know how you guys get on.
Thank you all for your continued feedback and support.
Daniel and the development team.
Ironcast 1.1 Update is now live!
Good day, Commanders!
The Ironcast 1.1 update is finally here. We've got loads of new features, balance tweaks and usability improvements for you. I won't say much more as the notes speak for themselves!
A big thanks goes out to all of you who sent us bug reports and feedback over the last few months. We couldn't have created this update without your support.
Ironcast 1.1 Update
Improvements:
Fixed game hang when activating the Steam overlay while the loading screen is open.
Fixed issue when Steam overlay is activated while on the settings screen in mission.
Missing Localisation on weapon tooltip now fixed.
Fixed error in dialogue of mission "Pursuit of glory".
The missions presented on the mission map are now correctly saved when quitting the game.
Scrap nodes now correctly spawn in boss battles (not being included actually broke the balance of these battles as long chains became far too common).
Fixed an issue that could cause your Ironcast to not start with full coolant at the start of a mission.
Fixed the "Remaining Turns" Objective in the mission "Search and Secure".
Fixed the mission "Godspeed", which was giving out Shields on completion instead of Drives.
Fixed minor spelling and grammar mistakes.
Fixed an error in the mission "The Spoils of war" that would cause a gameover instead of a mission fail on loss.
Fixed an error with the mission "Half-Cocked" which did not correctly repair your Ironcast on completion.
The achievements "Untouchable", "Reckless Victory" and "Against all odds" will now trigger correctly if earned in a boss battle.
New Features:
The weapon comparison tooltip now shows your weapon A and weapon B side by side.
Campaign saving has been improved. Campaign save will now only be deleted once the mission is in progress, and re-saved as soon as the mission ends.
The "Quit to title" option has been changed to "End Campaign", allowing you to forfeit the rest of your current campaign and claim global XP for your progress.
Hovering over the resource bars in battle will now showing a new tooltip, show the current and max amount of each resource.
The max amount of each resource is now showing in both the Hangar and the "Ironcast Upgrades" section of the Workshop.
If there is a campaign to load, the "Continue" button will be highlighted instead of "New Game".
A Bonus has been added for completing missions quickly. For each turn remaining when a mission is completed, 10 war assets will be rewarded.
Abilities and Augmentations:
Active abilities and Passive Augmentations can now be unequipped.
The family of abilities that gather nodes (e.g. Gather Repair) will no longer trigger abilities that require matching a certain number of nodes.
Additional Shot - cooldown increased from 5 turns to 6.
Node swap abilities - turn cooldown increased from 6 to 10.
The ability "Accuracy Booster" now correctly gives a 5% boost to weapon accuracy.
The active ability "Crippling Signal" has been changed to now half the enemy’s evasion for 2 turns.
The Passive Augmentation "Combination Master" has been changed to now give a 25% chance of spawning a Link node after a match of 10+ nodes.
The passive augmentation "Overdrive Oracle" has been changed to now give a 25% chance of spawning an Overdrive node after a match of 10+ nodes.
The cooldown of the active ability "Leech life" has been increased to 5 turns.
The cooldown of the active ability "Repair Hull" has been increased to 4 turns.
Enemy Ironcast:
All enemies have access to MK4 and MK5 systems 1-2 missions earlier. MK5 systems are now more commonly used by end-game enemies.
Titan Ironcast and Juggernaut Steamtanks have had their health significantly increased.
Lightly armoured Ironcast have had their health reduced.
Both bosses have had their shields tweaked. They now have stronger protection at lower stacks but maximum defence value is unchanged.
Both bosses have received changes to their "rapid fire" weapons. Players would often destroy their "heavy hitter" weapon before completely ignoring the rapid fire weapon. We've reduced the number of shots and upped the damage per shot of each weapon to offer an additional threat.
Bosses have had their health slightly increased, to compensate for the new War Asset rewards for completing a mission with turns remaining.
Weapons and systems:
Shotcannon damage reduced to compensate for such a boost from Overdrive.
Heavy cannon damage reduced to make it more of the Jack of all trades that it was meant to be.
Rare weapons now cost 2 coolant to fire, up from 1.
Dense shields have had around a 20% protection decrease at all levels (for both friendly and enemy Ironcast).
Thanks for reading and enjoy the 1.1 update.
Daniel and the development team.
