A new metroidvania from the Islets developers is out next week!
This week will mark the two year anniversary of Islets being released! Islets is a game that I am super proud of, and I am extremely thankful that it's development has allowed me to take on game development as my full time job.
For those past two years, I've been working on a new game, and it's coming out very very soon! On August 27th (in 6 days!) I'll be releasing Crypt Custodian. Crypt Custodian is a top-down metroidvania about a cat who is sentenced to be the afterlife's janitor.. forever! While the story and characters are not directly connected to Islets, the art, writing, music, and gameplay will all be extremely familiar if you've played through Islets.
I'm super proud of Crypt Custodian and I can't wait for you all to be able to try it out! The response continues to be really exceptional and we're truly delighted to see so many folks enjoying the game. We have another small update ready for you all with a variety of fixes and changes. You can see the full list below:
1. Added in Cloud Saves! (In order to add an existing save to the cloud, you must load the save file, and save again. Be aware that now if you have 2 different save files on the same slot on different devices, this could overwrite them)
2. Fixed a softlock that occurs when dying while collecting an upgrade
3. Game backs up save files when successfully loading from the main menu
4. Fixed a bug that occurred when you saved and loaded on the same frame
5. Fixed a bug where dying immediately after beating a timed death match softlocks you out of receiving the upgrade
6. Water splashes now won't move through walls
7. Fixed a missing wall in Tomb Ruins
8. Speedrun timer ends at a different point by request

We've been hard at work on putting together a patch to address many issues we've seen folks encountering during this first week. You can read the full patch notes below:
-Fixed a bug that occurs when pausing from a teleporter screen -Fixed a bug where enemies in a specific deathmatch could fall out of the room -Fixed a rare bug that would corrupt save files, and repairs previously-corrupted save files. (Note: Files corrupted by exiting mid-save are not included in this) -Fixed getting stuck in moving platforms. Also prevented a couple harmless glitches that occur when interrupting a moving platforms movement -Added missing icons on the map (Magnet on Eastwright Island, and Save shrine in Spirits Landing) -In speedrun mode, double-tapping climb on a wall imitates button mashing -Fixed screenshake still occuring during slam attack, even when turned off -Allows screenshots with F12 -Prevents softlock when exiting during the island-connect cutscene

We're absolutely thrilled to announce that after a long wait, Islets will be launching on Steam on August 24th! Join Iko, Greybird, and Totally Normal Tour Guide as you explore the mysteries of these shattered islands later this month. To commemorate the occasion, we put together a brand new trailer showing off more locales and gameplay than ever before.
Along with the Steam launch, players will also be able to enjoy the game wherever they prefer with the Switch and Xbox One versions which will be launching on the same day.
