The first ever Istanbul: Digital Edition Online Tournament is officially over!
Congratulations to the winner who goes by the name of NinjaAs! Congratulations to the rest of the finalists - Vitto, mexicola and pintachan. Congratulations to everyone who got to the Championship Phase - 25 best Istanbul players in the world. And congratulations to everybody who joined and played through their matches in the entire tournament!
We can not stress enough how awesome of an experience it was to run this event. Players from, quite literally, around the globe signed up and played. In the final match alone there were players from three different continents! And twenty different time zones were represented in the tournament overall!
As to some funny data… The Championship Phase shaped as follows:
1. 148 rubies were gathered throughout the quarter finals, semi finals and in the Grand Final.
2. The shortest match in the Championship Phase took 16 rounds, the longest 20 rounds - and they were five players matches, mind.
3. The average number of rounds was 17.5.
3. The most wins went to the red player, that includes, quite fittingly, the Grand Final.
And finally, the prizes! Amongst the spoils were 40 codes for our various games, and thanks to the generosity of our friends at Pegasus Spiele, two Istanbul Big Boxes and two regular Istanbul tabletop game boxes are being sent to the finalists.
Let me also take this moment to officially thank Pegasus Spiele, Alderac Entertainment Group and Stately Play for helping us with this entire event. You’re awesome!
It’s been a wild ride, and who knows, mayhaps it was not the last one like this?

And phew… In our wildest dreams we did not expect THAT beast of a turn out! 159 participants. One hundred and fifty nine! You people are the best, and we are so happy to have the opportunity to organize an event for such an amazing community. Thank you!
Now, the order of business! We have to, obviously, process all the applications and figure out the kinks. We have a lot of processing and planning to do (and that’s awesome!), a lot more than we ever expected, so we reserve a week for that. Expect further news as to who, how, what and why this Friday, that is January 11th 2019. We will be posting news on FB, twitter, Stately Play forum, Steam, our website, you name it.

Istanbul: Digital Edition online tournament!
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, we would like to announce the first ever not-so-annual official online tournament of Istanbul: Digital Edition!
Prepare your wheelbarrows and count your goods, the merchants are about to hit the market. There are prizes to be won, and the renown of the best of all the merchants to be claimed.
We here at Acram Digital and Mobo Studio, the developer and publisher of Istanbul: Digital Edition, would like to cordially invite any and all interested to the online tournament of Istanbul: Digital Edition. Everyone is invited, whether you’ve never played Istanbul before or are a veteran with more hours played than the hours awake, the goal is to have fun. There will, however, be prizes...
The prize pool includes physical copies of Istanbul board game, provided by Pegasus Spiele and Alderac Entertainment Group, including the Big Box (containing the base game and the expansions), as well as codes for our digital games for the platform of your choosing. But the renown is more important, let’s be frank. What are you waiting for? Sign up!

Once we have all the submissions, you will be divided into tables. Each table will have a week to finish their game. Once the results are in, the two best players from each table will be matched with the other best players, so on and so forth. Those not-so-lucky will be matched against each other to fight for the consolation prize and a metaphorical banana sticker. Unless we convince prize providers to include the actual banana stickers. Then it would be the real deal...
Now, full disclaimer, we simply do not know what can we expect in terms of attendance. Thus, we will wait with the full description of the format until the submissions are in and we know where we stand. Do bare in mind though, our primary, secondary and tertiary goals are to make something fun. We want you, the players, to play some games, have a laugh, get the community closer together.
