The sixth anniversary of the game being released on Steam was earlier in December. And, while I was hoping to have something to release this year, it didn't end up working out. The Windows 10 compatibility issue that came up a few months back not only impacted It's A Wipe!, which is built on an older version of the Torque game engine, but also the newer version of that engine as well. With It's A Wipe! I was able to revert back to the DirectX graphics instead of OpenGL to get around the issue, but the newer engine had DirectX completely pulled out of it.
Long story short, the good news is that someone figured out how to get around the Windows 10 graphics issue with the newer engine. So, instead of having to abandon the work I had done on a new game and switch over to a completely new engine, I can pick up where I left off. So, if I can focus up hopefully I'll get a new game out by the end of 2020 :D
Anyhow, thank you for picking up It's A Wipe and I hope that you have a great new year!

Windows 10 Compatibility Patch (or, Microsoft Broke OpenGL)
Hello All,
The main build has been switched to Direct 3D forced compatibility mode, as the latest version of Windows 10 (1903) does not seem to be compatible with the OpenGL version used in the game engine.
For anyone wishing to still use OpenGL on older version, it is still available. If you go to the game in the Library and bring up the Properties window for it, then go to the Beta section there should now be an "opengl" version (if it doesn't come up, put in the testing code "testing12345". Effectively, I've made the nonOpenGL executable the new main build. Please let me know if you run into any issues playing with this change.
Happy 4th Anniversary!
Hello All!
It's been four years since It's A Wipe! was released on Steam!
Now, I wanted to have something big to announce, like a new game release date. But, I haven't made enough time to get anything ready by today... Except for a small update to It's A Wipe!
I've posted up version 1.9.95, which contains a few new Player made Raid controls. I had been helping someone with a set of player made raids, and added these controls. I haven't heard anything further from him in a couple of month,s so I think they may have dropped making their raid idea :unhappyraider: But, it did give me something to post about at least! The new commands are listed in the Player Made Raid guide on Steam, under the "Monster Actions, Part 3" section.
Unfortunately, my main computer's hard drive went bad over this past weekend. So, while I had hoped to do a little bit more, this is all that I got done for today. Thanks to everyone that has played it over the years! Hopefully for the 5th Anniversary I'll finally have a new computer game done!

Happy Halloween 2018!
Hello All,
Happy Halloween from Parody Games! ːsteamhappyː As you may have seen the game is on sale through tomorrow. But, if you are reading this then odds are you probably already have a copy.
In other news, there is an upcoming Live Stream of It's A Wipe on Veterans Day (11/11/2018) over at the hobbitbilboman's Twitch channel. Full details can be found here . There's a lot of retro gaming streams on there. I don't know if It's A Wipe! is quite old enough to merit that tag. But, I think the game does have a certain old style RPG vibe. Check it out if you get a chance!
I should also be in attendance if anyone wants to come harass me on chat :spazwinky: Thank you for reading and I hope that you have enjoyed the game!

2018 Steam Summer Sale Update!
Hell All,
I hope that everyone is having a great start to their Summer and getting some good deals on games!
In response to a request for additional Player Made Raid functionality there is a small update to It's A Wipe! (Version 1.9.9.4S)!
What's new in this version:
----------------
* Moar Monster Commands *
- A large number of new versions of monster commands have been added to the list of exposed commands that you can use for making your own raids.
----------------
Hopefully there will also be a new set of player designed raids coming at some point soon on the heels of this update :veryhappyraider:
One minor note is that I did not extensively test these. They're mostly exposure of existing mechanics, or checks on additional parameters, so I expect that they should behave properly. But, if anyone does find any issues please let me know.
Thank you for playing It's A Wipe! and have a great Summer!
Half Way Through 2018!
Hello All,
I just wanted to post a little update, mainly to note that I am still alive and slowly plugging away at a new game (working title Heroes of Kingspoint). I've been doing a weekly blog about it over here and just started doing a series of posts about the planned classes for the game. No real It's A Wipe! news, except that a direct sequel is still pending this other game getting done. Hopefully this current project will be playable by the end of this year, if maybe still not fully polished.
Thanks for playing It's A Wipe!

And So The Contest Ends. Not With A Bang, But A Whimper
Well, it's been a little over three months since the Third Anniversary announcement of a player made raid competition. Even though there were a few inquiries into how to get features working, only one person actually submitted an entry to the Workshop by the deadline of today. A little sad that there were not more entries. But, at least it was proven that it actually works.
So congratulations to Boom, the winner by default, for his Firelands entry. When Heroes of Kingspoint becomes available, you'll get a free beta copy. No hard deadline on when that is going to be other than when it's done. You can follow the progress over at the development blog.
Thanks for playing It's A Wipe!
New Player Made Raid, Minor Patch
Hello All,
A new player made raid, Fire Lands, is now available. The raid is intended for well geared parties only.
On a related note, a few small corrections for player made content have been uploaded in a patch.
Here's what is fixed in 1.9.93:
----------------
- Added the ability to play different songs in the different fights. The directions in the guide have been updated.
- Fixed some spacing issues with player made raid commands.
- Clarified a few points in the on-line player made raid guide.
----------------
It's A Patch! (Version 1.9.92)
Happy New Year!
After a complaint that the game was not very playable using 4K monitors, I added an additional screen setting for 3840x2160. The engine the game was made on, while not strictly predating 4K monitors, was not really made with them in mind - as they were only an extremely high end luxury items at that time. So, apparently full screen does not work too well with them.
I also added an oversized mouse cursor when in that mode, as apparently the default cursor was tiny. Now, I don't actually own a 4K monitor so I wasn't able to test this at all. From what I've heard it's at least playable with this screen setting :happyraider:
So, here's what's new in 1.9.92:
--------------------------------
* It's Over 4,000! *
- Added a new screen resolution setting that should hopefully make the game playable on a 4K monitor.
--------------------------------
Also, as a reminder, there is currently a player made raid contest going on for the first part of 2018. You can read the details on the last news announcement or the community forum here. Thanks for playing!
Third Year Anniversary!!! Updates, A Contest, and... well, that's about it really.
Updates??? Updates!?!?
That's right! To celebrate three years of It's A Wipe! being on Steam I put together a new Player Made Raid for the occasion! This raid is intended for guilds that have beaten the game and are solidly geared. Anyone that farmed a ton might find it a little on the easy side, but new guilds will wipe pretty quickly.
Why a Player Made Raid, instead of a new core raid that drops loot, you might ask? Well, starting today, I want to put forth a challenge to the It's A Wipe! community. Since I have primarily been working on my next game, Heroes of Kingspoint, I haven't had much free time. I literally put together this new raid yesterday. Now I do have a lot of experience, since I made the original game and all. But, I think that, given enough time, you the players can come up with even more entertaining raids.
So, I am announcing the following contest:
From now until April 1st, 2018 any owners of It's A Wipe! may submit a working Player Made Raid to the workshop to enter this contest. From April 1st until April 30th owners of It's A Wipe! can submit a vote for their favorite raid submitted during the contest period. The winner will get a beta invite and free copy of Heroes of Kingspoint when it is finally released (probably 2019). If there are more than 10 submissions, I will also give a 2nd and 3rd prize of a free copy of my next game, just without getting to try it during beta testing.
I hope that more raids from the community will help everyone get more entertainment out of the game, so this is my attempt to give people a push towards trying their hand at making their own fights. I know the player made raid system is a little clunky. So, if you need help getting your raid working or need mechanics added that are not currently available, feel free to either contact me on the forums here or sent an e-mail to support@iawgame.com.
Some small patch notes, relating to player made raid content.
- Fixed an issue with BombTimer always doing 15 damage.
- Added an Explode command that works like BombTimer, but with a set round instead of the more awkward timer used by respawning bombs.
