Its been a while

Hello! I know, I know, its been a while. Long story short, I have been taking a well-earned break the past few weeks. Recently I've started working on the next major update to the game... which isn't ready just yet.

No teasers at the moment, but in the meantime here are a few hints at the upcoming content:


  • It swims

  • It flies

  • It travels in large groups

  • It is colorful

1.2.2 Live on Testing Branch

To access the new features and to test them: go to the game in your steam library > right click the game > properties > betas > testing branch.

Once you select it the download will begin automatically.

Me and my team will be testing for bugs over the next several days before making the patch live on the primary default branch of the game.

Feel free to test it and give feedback if you find anything!

DEV BLOG #4

Today I'd like to chat about what is in the works for update 1.2.2
it won't feature new species but it will come with a wealth of new features.

New feature 1: AI birds
The skies of your game will now be filled with AI birds. The birds always start on the ground, and will only fly away in the presence of a predator.

New feature 2: Animal stat changes
Hares are now larger, to represent their real world scale compared to other animals. Hares also have increased health to go along with this.
Weasels were given stat changes to improve walking speed (it was unbearably slow before).

New feature 3: Stoat pounce
Stoats can now pounce onto Hares! Called the "Hug of Doom", Stoats now have the power to kill hares via a single successful pounce. Currently, it does not require stamina to use (this may change in the future).

New feature 4: Fall damage
All animals are now impacted by gravity. Basically, don't fall off of a cliff. Animals can still handle a jump every now and again, just don't jump to far...

DEV BLOG #3

This morning I worked on a simple flight system for AI birds! You heard right, AI birds are going to be added to the game eventually. They won't do anything fancy, but they will flap away from you at a decent pace.

This AI logic also can be applied to fish (strangely enough) to enable flight-like movement underwater.

How it works is a bit complex, so I'll spare the details and say that AI animals that fly and swim will be arriving sometime in the future with reasonable quality.

In other news, I've noticed that the game is getting loads of views and attention from the steam community. Thank you so much for giving my game traffic and I hope you will please consider trying the game. I plan on doing a sale with the next major update, so stay tuned!
