Janosik 2 Dev Update #3 - A map to find your way around
Hey everyone!
It’s a brand new year, so it’s time for some fresh news about Janosik 2’s development.
This update will be shorter than the previous ones, but we still wanted to let you know what we’ve been working on recently.
So the next big feature we’re adding to Janosik 2 is the MAP! We want it to be useful, as you’ll be able to see a few crucial things when using it.
The map will be showing where your character is, and where all of the keys and doors are located. It will, without a doubt, help you navigate through the levels and plan your adventures accordingly.
Additionally, you’ll be able to see how many treasures you’ve collected in the levels. It should prove very useful to completionists, who want to collect 100% of the coins, jewels, and treasures.
Let us know what you think about the game and we hope to see you on our official Discord.
See you next time!
Janosik 2 Dev Update #2 - The rocks keep rolling, rolling, rolling…
Hey everyone!
We thought we’d squeeze in a fresh round of Janosik 2 news before the Holidays. Let’s dive in!
First up, we’re working on an Indiana Jones-style level, where Janka has to run away from a giant boulder. It’s a classic scene from some of our favorite movies that we hope to bring you lots of fun. Don’t look back (or rather - on the left) and run as fast as you can!
While we’re on the topic of rocks, we’ve added a new boss to the game, we’re calling him the Rolling Stone because it’s a rock golem that can turn into a ball of stone and... roll. Now that we’re writing this update, we’re realizing how rocky this joke is…
So what else is made of stone? Hmm… walls! What can you do with walls? Climb them! Wall climbing is the newest way to move across levels in Janosik 2. It creates a ton of design possibilities and brings a new dynamic to the game.
In the last update, we’ve introduced Parallax Layers which add the depth effect by having multiple background images move at different speeds. Keep an eye on the gates in the background… which are also made of stone…
That’s all for this Dev Update. Remember to follow us on Steam and let us know what you think about the game. We also hope to see you on our official Discord.
