Linux Dedicated Servers Now Available

Got an old pc sitting around collecting dust? Now you can have a Jetpack Soccer field in your own back yard. Linux is a fast, free and flexible way to host a Jetball Dedicated Server.

Build 0.5.0.18.2 is now live

Features:
  • Completely re-worked how the keybinds are handled.
  • Added default binds for WASD and ESDF players.
  • Menus cleaned up and improved to support lower resolutions.
  • Fixed a missing sound with the disc launcher (fire effect volume was so low it was inaudible).
  • Beacon and Springboard sound effect volumes adjusted to reflect player speed.
  • Updated to Unreal Engine 4.18.2.

Gameplay Changes:
  • Bots should no longer get stuck in the spawn huts.

Bug Fixes:
  • See keybind feature (controllers still need more work but are supported).
  • Score hud fixed for lower resolutions
  • Start up intro loud volume fixed.
  • Adjusted jetpack for Alpha and Vangaurd (and some animation improvements)
  • Fixed a crash when running a lot of bots on a server.

Known Issues:
  • Some character animations are not working at the right time (like walking instead of skiing or vice versa).
  • Some character jetpack locations are not aligned yet.
  • Slapping the ball quickly between players causes a multiverse infinite possibilites scenerio with some interesting results.
  • The brake key has been known to stick for at least one player (hitting brake again fixes it).
  • After changing teams, players can see both team messaging waypoints indicators (when you should only see your own team message waypoints).
  • The mouse goes inverted sometimes when playing with sensitivity - workaround is to check the invert mouse box (until you restart then it will correct itself requiring you to unchkeck the box).

  • Fixed Chat focus issues.
  • Fixed Ping to show proper round trip value while connected to a server (should get similar results as when doing a cmd ping).
  • Fixed Jetpack stutter issue (much improved anyway).
  • Fixed FOV not working in 3rd person.
  • Fixed 3rd person mode not persisting after death/respawn/map change.
  • Fixed the "Intercppted" spelling error.


Known Issues:

New Dedicated Servers in Germany and USA

With a great big thanks to the guys at Branzone.com we now have 3 new high speed servers in action. One in Frankfurt Germany and 2 in Texas USA. Each server has 8 slots, so enjoy up to 4v4 or 3v3 with a spectator or two. Branzone offers some of the lowest ping and jitter free servers. We are very excited to have them as a partner in Early Access.

H-O-R-S-E Season 0 and Draft Tournament

We are very excited to announce Season 0 of Jetball HORSE! This will be a casual weekly community challenge that everybody can participate in, on their own time. The basic premise is below, more details will follow:

  • A specific trick shot will be assigned every week. Players have 1 week to submit a gif of them completing the challenge
  • If a player fails to submit a clip of the trick shot, they will get a letter (H-O-R-S-E)
  • The first player to submit a successful shot gets to invent next week's trick shot (pending admin approval)
  • The last player who is not a HORSE wins
  • Of course, fabulous prizes await the winner, and all participants will be rewarded

For our first week I will introduce the challenge now to provide some extra time. We expect to officially kick this off midweek.

  • Map: Epic City
  • Shot: Bounce off enemy wall, off ground, into thine own goal

Build 0.4.3.18.1 Hotfix is now live

Buca's goal is weekly updates but lots of great feedback and bugs are popping up with the influx of new players so he wanted to start addressing some of these right away.

Features:
- Multiplied the aim sensitivity range by 4 as there was not enough range for controllers and also low end mice (your saved sensitivity will likely be effected).

Gameplay Changes:
- None

Bug Fixes:
- Removed a loud horn sound that occurred for some players when hosting a local game.
- Attempted to fix a mouse issue where the mouse would leave the game window (fix unconfirmed).
- Fixed the "coundown" spelling error during the match countdown.

Known Issues:

Launch day Celebration- Play with the dev and key giveaway!

Thanks for all the love you’ve shown Jetball on launch day! I know some people woke up early just to get their hands on it right away. There were some hiccups but thankfully we were able to catch them quickly and get it resolved, thanks Cab for your help.

To celebrate the first day and help everybody dust off of their jetpacks we will have a play date tonight at 10pm Eastern (7pm Pacific). So rev up your disc launcher and get ready for some high speed action with the community. The developer (Buca) will be around to answer any questions.
