Jishogi

Jishogi 2.0 Is here!

Jishogi has had a long journey. I've been very busy with my current game, but after some soul-searching, I really wasn't happy with how things were. I wanted to go back and cross my t's and dot my i's with Jishogi before I moved on. I'm not sure if these changes will help it reach a wider audience, but who knows. It can't hurt at least.
CHANGES:
-Added in difficulty modes! Jishogi's difficulty came as quite a shock to me. I knew that I was the dev and I was biased, but I had no idea just how long it would take people, and I couldn't get much feedback on the game before it's release. It was only ever intended to be something like a 5-10 hour long game for most people, but it really wasn't shaking out that way. Now that I've gotten proper feedback, things have been adjusted accordingly with the new difficulty options:
---Easy: It skips most of the base puzzles, as well as adding a bunch of pieces to unskipped ones. Not counting tutorials, roughly 3/4ths of puzzles are skipped.
---Hard: It skips many of the base puzzles, as well as adding a piece or two to help. Not counting tutorials, roughly half of the puzzles are skipped.
---9th Dan: The "ultra hard" difficulty, it's literally just the base game(lol).
"Hard" is the default difficulty, but it can be changed at any time. Changing it mid-trial is a little awkward, but it works.
You don't need to beat 9th dan in order to get the "all puzzles" achievement or dev room. Or at least, you shouldn't.
Because of all this, however, the dev skip feature is being removed. There really are very few puzzles on easy mode, so it should suffice. Thank you and sorry to everyone who put up with such a silly thing in order to get through the game.

-Added in a run button. You can hold CTRL to move at 2x speed. This works in all rooms but a select few.

-Fifield now gives you the item that lets you press C earlier, after the first trial. The reason why she gave it to you so late originally was to show that she felt a little bad about being rough with your mind before the end of act one trial, but honestly, it doesn't really matter that much. Better to just have the QOL earlier.

-Slightly improved the animation of Fifield showing up at the start, as well as the fountain in Fifield's mind.

-Fixed a few minor typos.

All of the changes *should* be compatible with old saves. Thank you for supporting Jishogi!

Hotfix 1.0.5

Fixed a bug where finishing the game, then immediately starting a new game would cause bugged saves that couldn't progress past the first memory room. If you still have a save of a playthrough where this happened, that playthrough can't be fixed because the save itself is the problem, you will have to manually delete that save and/or start again. Although it's only a few minutes into the game where this happens, I apologize for any inconvenience.

1.0.4

-Fixed a crash

Patch 1.0.2

-Fixed the audio bug related to footsteps/voices on a new install
-Fixed a typo
-Fixed an issue that may have been causing bugs/softlocks/weirdness when starting a new game immediately after finishing. Some of the reports I've got have been impossible for me to replicate/verify, but hopefully this fixes it.
-Fixed an issue with a pixel missing on a sprite
-Fixed potential problems when using a skip method while holding a puzzle piece
-Fixed an issue with the puzzle skipper item not working in puzzles.(Probably, there may also be issues with completed puzzles not registering, not confirmed)
-Added in a "puzzle skip cheat" that you can use by pressing shift+1. This is a dev tool and is *intended* to be a last resort in case the puzzle skipper still isn't working or if your save got deleted or something. Of course, you can play the game however you want.

Patch 1.0.1

-Fixed some hard crashes that were occuring in middle school and high school memory areas
-Added a voice delay option that can fix voice problems on some systems
-Added a text speed option
