How to Play johnsgame in 2023
Each Version of the game is playable from the RTS version to the 3rd iteration of the survival mode of the game.
To play johnsgame in all four ways simply:
1. Right-Click the game and click 'Properties'
2. Then, go to 'Betas' Tab
3. and click the drop down menu that has the words "NONE - Opt out of all beta programs".
4. Clicking that should show you all 4 versions of the game.
5. Choose which version you want to play.
6. Update the game.
TO FIX ANY PROBLEM SAYING THE EXE IS MISSING:
1. Go to 'Properties' again.
2. Then go to the 'Local Files' tab.
3. Click "Browse local files".
4. Rename the exe by right clicking it and clicking rename.
5. Rename the exe to either "johnsgame.exe" or "wastelander.exe"
If that doesn't work try restarting steam by going to the bottom right of your screen and clicking the up arrow on your taskbar near where it shows the time of day and then just right click the steam icon and click exit.

I have also realized I could probably remake johnsgame if i wanted to so I am planning on that still now that i have learned a lot since i first released the game. It is my favorite game it's just unfortunate i never had the help or the knowledge i do now when i first made it. It's a very deep game with a lot to do in it depending on what version you are on and it sucks a lot of people didn't get to experience it because it was broken for so long.

Hello, I am creating something new and I hope this looks at all promising.
I am sorry for how the game ended up. After Version 2 (you can find what I mean by the previous news article) I was unable to access the files due to both GameMaker: Studio corrupting my files and a Windows update that required a Windows Reset which wiped my computer to get it to work. After that, Version 3 and 4 were created but without the same passion and more of "I just need to remake it" but I didn't remember how I did it the first time and constant frustration only came to make very good but depressing art which matched what i was going for but was only a reflection of my then feelings.
I also made the game when I was 14 and didn't release it on Steam till I was maybe 15 (before that it was, and might still be on GameJolt as a privated game or something but I don't remember my login). At the same time I was making johsn.game I was making Obscure Realm. Another game ruined by a Windows Update/Reset with the only GIF I have of it is this:
The only version you can find of this game is either if you already have it somehow on Steam or you find the old version on GameJolt.
I am currently creating a remake of the game. Now, as an almost 20 year old, I have learned a lot about Game Design, Game Feel, Art, and Managing a Team.
The new game has two others, a programmer, and a sound designer.
My current state of life is I will be going to DigiPen for Game Design on July 9th to get used to the area before school starts in August. In the meantime I will be creating the new game with these two others and even during my stay at the school (but not using their property of course because then it wouldn't be mine).
Anyways, the new game will be top-down and and have a look like the gif below:
DONT WORRY, this looks like this for a reason, shadows can be added in-engine (we are using Godot) and has a lot of this higher-resolution art. The reason I do show this GIF is because I want to show off what I am going to be doing for all Art, making it more complex.

This is a lot more detailed and will look a lot better than making shadows manuelly (yes I made all of the shadows in johns.game by hand)
The new game will be based and inspired by media like a boy and his dog, fallout 1, state of decay 2, and of course johns.game.

Obscure Project Weekly: Week 16:: Black Squad, General News, Change-Log 2.0.3
This Letter is mainly just changelog due to the fact that I did week 15 on Wensday.
Black Squad is Great:
A game has been released called Black Squad. Heard of it? Well you should try it anyway, its free and there is no pay to win. Its a mix of everything great about Battlefield, Rainbow Six, & CS:GO in a nutshell. Fun to play with your friends and moderatly easy to get into. Go try it and feel free to add me (George) to come play. The only downside to the game is no voicechat. You will need an external Voice Call program to talk to your friends or other players.
