Fixes from this weekends major update!

- Fixed a bug with machine inventories where some slots didn't accept any items and didn't behave properly.
- Added some preventive measures for exiting vehicles where sometimes the character model wasn't in the correct location.
- Fixed a bug where machines didn't give back their inventories. They will now try to drop items in the player's inventory and if full on the ground.
- Fixed an issue with the Separator's power socket.
- Fixed an issue with lasers and the UI button.
- Fixed an issue where development keybinds interfered with shipped game keybinds, for example P was pausing the game.
- Made clearer the location of laser for new and returning players in the ship!

Well well everyone, its finally done, the player update is complete. There was a few more things i'd like to have touched up however I feel we need to pull the trigger now and polish over the next few weeks because we are falling into a "when is a piece of art finished" hole.



This has been a crazy update to make, so many massive new features I completely ran out of time to do the detailed post that I wanted to. Instead feel free to check out the previous post. I also Got chatGPT to help me write an exciting explanation because I completely ran out of time today after doing final polish and graphics and trailers.

Player update coming in 48 hours! 03/03/2023

Hey everyone! Rich here! Today im happy to announce that in 48 hours time Player update will go live! We’ve been hard at work as you all know for months and now some massive changes are coming to the game.

I will go into way more detail on the day because I want to share with you all what our vision is and what's coming over the next few months and our road to 1.0.

So why have we made this update instead of Monolith 3? We have gone back to basics on the game, we’ve gone right from the ground up on how we interact with things what the player lacked in terms of its ability to be animated, add and remove items allow you all to have a way more polished experience.

This lays the framework for a highly polished game experience were we are working out all the kinks and issues now so the game can be enjoyed in its entirety and most importantly so our players are given a top quality game!

It’s actually hard to remember all of the improvements we have made in the update because it’s so extensive. But i’ll give it a shot.


  1. We have completely redesigned the LEAF model its now super high detail and most importantly it now has much more functionality to add / remove items, animate, raise and lower arms, lock onto objects when looking etc.




  2. We have added a tonne of items the player can equip to improve the rpg experience of the game. These are both scrap and NWR versions. This includes things like, extra storage for items, powerful lasers, batteries, power legs and more.



  3. This also follows up with new and improved crafting stations and upgrade stations replacing the old ones.



  4. Designed and implemented a first person mode for the game so players that prefer first person games can enjoy the entire game experience this way.



  5. We have done extensive work on the user interface to make it much more usable and a much smoother experience.



  6. We have added real time placeable lights, this was a highly requested feature.



  7. We have also added an entire flight system ( this took some time ) to allow the user to use a jetpack to traverse the landscape.



  8. Extensive work as been done on the entire games sound and should be better balanced with more buttons and machines making confirmation noises.

  9. Improved the worlds lighting so the game is overall better rendered.

  10. Balanced the game so the inventory is not so cumbersome, we realized that it’s not fun that some things have for example a 50 space, or a 1 space. We have improved this.




Im going to do a more extensive write up so everyone can understand the full amount of work that has taken place but I think you’ll all notice it.

Thank you to all the playtesters and I hope this helps you all have a much better experience and this will absolutely now pave the way for a epic game experience from the moment you get into Junkpunk.

Real Time Placeable Lighting!

Hey everyone RIch here hope you're well. Today im happy to announce another super heavily requested feature is coming to the player update on top of everything else! That is placeable real time lights!

I've made another video showing how i've made the lighting and whats coming. I'll drop that below.

This will be bringing our update to a close ( apart from some final UI improvements ). A massive thank you to all our playtesters its been a great help to us!

The player update we feel will be a massive game improvement for new and returning Junkpunks alike!

For all of you that want a quick video round up heres the following;

We've added 4 placeable lights scrap and NWR versions

I've made these lights using a distance field rendering method that allows us both cheap and real time lighting which will still provide decent shadowing.

You can place as many lights as you want.

We might time the lights to turn on at night and turn off in the day.

First Person Mode is coming to Junkpunk!

Hey everyone Rich here! Hope you're well, I wanted to hold off on this but I got way too excited. Simply put, Junkpunk can now be played in both 3rd and 1st person. This is an epic addition to the game and i've loved playing it this way. You get the choice on how to play it. It's totally upto you!

Player upgrades, lasers, legs, JETPACK and more coming in the next update for JUNKPUNK!

L.E.A.F Upgrade Preview!

Hey everyone Rich here dropping a new JUNKPUNK development update. Hope you're all well.

We've made some awesome LEAF upgrades and today were gonna be sharing the news / preview with you all.

As per usual I have made a video with some insight to show you all. This type of content and outreach for me seems to be the best way for me to reach everyone and is working for me personally so I think I'll keep building on this in the future.

JUNKPUNK - L.E.A.F 2.0 Player model preview!

Hello everyone Rich here, today we will be showing a preview of the new L.E.A.F model coming to Junkpunk! Major improvements coming. I've dropped a new updated video for you all to watch and you can see that here;



We have massively improve the leaf model and prepared it for our future updates to come. We've also been taking a tonne of feedback to implement into the game so the next large update will be awesome. Improvements to the player, the environment, the UI the UX. Loads of things to come in the next JP update.

Vehicles and Lore update!

Hello all Rich here, today we are dropping a MAJOR update to JUNKPUNK, we are putting live 3 new vehicles each with their own styles and inventory space.

We’ve poured tons of man hours into this update and we hope you love it!

We have also added an entire road network all over the island! This will help get to all important areas and i'll be expanding on this in the next updates!



We've spend hours crafting a research town to compliment Monolith 1. Also now known as the "Atmosphere Stabiliser"



We've added explorable crates and explorable areas in game. So you can find items and goodies inside that will help you progress in the game faster!









We've also added over 1200 words of lore to the game to start building the storyline with even more depth and structure! You can access these at NWR terminals.



We currently have the PAL test site and the HVTF site.

We’ve also added 2 new tracks to the sound track to make it a bit more of a chilled vibe.

This has been a huge step forward for our vision for the game and we're really happy with the progress.

More changes.

- Added more sound effects to various world object interactions.

- Added an option in the settings that allows to toggle autosaves.

- Fixed a few annoying issues relating to the mouse cursor visibility while using the interface.

- Fixed an issue where destroying a drone didn’t refund the resources.

- Fixed a few issues with drone pathfinding.

- Added an option to skip intro when starting a new game.

- Balanced the game some more massively reducing stage one plants from 40 to 6 each. Bringing the total plants down to achieve Monolith 1 on normal down from 200 to 30. The reason why we are reducing this is that is was just way to much of a boring time sink and we have plenty more fun things to play instead!
