1.1.9 Update
This simple update re-balances the system for figuring Service approval scores.
The previous system was a lifetime score that reflected your performance over the entire course of a game. This made it different from how other scores are factored.
Now, the Service score is calculated like all the other public approval scores: A new survey runs each week and then the memory of previous successes and failures is forgotten. This makes the score more responsive to what's currently happening and makes it easier to win or lose points for Service.
1.1.8 Update
The New Game setup menu has a new feature called "Crime Curve" that allows you to determine how quickly more advanced types of crimes are allowed to start spawning in the game. The Easy setting will introduce more crime types at a much slower rate. The Hard setting will introduce them very quickly. The Medium setting will introduce them at the same rate they've always been introduced.
Hovering the mouse over a unit currently dispatched to go do something will draw a line on the screen between the unit and their destination. This is intended to make it easier for players to see which units are going where.
Stings now display their effectiveness at attracting suspects with a "Coverage" meter. Click on any sting to open its details and see the Coverage rating for that type of sting. Deploying more stings of that same type will increase their chances of attracting suspects.
Drug Lords are now much more likely to spawn.
Units going to deploy a spike strip now use lights and sirens and move faster to carry out this action.
Units currently using a spike strip now display their status as "Operating spike strip."
The Tips system can now only alert the player once about having a low cash balance.
Fixed a bug that would not send a unit to bust a suspect at a sting by clicking the unit on the undercover officer rather than the sting icon itself.
Fixed a bug that caused Captain assignment buttons to remain active in pause mode if the player's money balance dropped below the cost to assign a captain while paused.
Fixed a bug that would allow suspects who are part of a group of suspects (such as a group of three vandals) to be removed from the game while their friends were still being processed by the police.
Fixed a bug that could make it impossible to investigate some homicides.
Fixed a bug that would alert players they had units healed and waiting at the hospital before the units were actually healed when restoring a saved game.
Fixed a bug that would allow the player to spend Intelligence Points revealing the same crime over and over while the game is paused.
1.1.7 Update
The Recruiting Drive perk now has a chance to increase the skills of applicants while it is active, in addition to also reducing the time it takes to reshuffle the applicant list.
The game now features a pop-up help system that will provide players with useful advice and notifications while they play. In addition to providing help to new players, these notifications will also offer helpful reminders. You'll receive a notification if a unit is waiting for backup, if units are waiting outside the Police Academy or hospital, if an undercover unit is waiting for a marked unit to make an arrest, and so on. These notifications can be disabled from the Options menu in the Graphics/UI section.
Players can now choose to prevent the camera from automatically centering itself on whatever crime is being revealed by an informant. This feature can be enabled or disabled with the "Informant Camera" toggle from the Options menu in the Controls section.
Buttons for controlling game speed have now been added to the interface. The keyboard controls for game speed still work the same as before.
Undercover agents do not blow their cover as quickly.
Fixed a building in the Sinclair district that was not connected to any road.
Patched a very rare bug that could cause public approval meters to stop updating.
Modified four intersections around town that weren't navigable and would cause characters to take detours around them.
Fixed a bug that would cause the helicopter to continue following some moving crimes even after it was ordered to halt with the STOP button.
Fixed an issue that failed to remove units from their group when those units died. This could cause remaining units in the group to no longer be selected when selecting the group.
Fixed an issue that allowed the player to click the Specialized Gear perk again after it had already been unlocked.
Corrected a problem that would prevent the camera from zooming in or out after closing a crime details window for a case that was already closed.
Fixed a bug that caused the tutorial to get stuck if the player assigned backup to a waiting unit before being prompted by the tutorial to do so.
