As I mentioned last week, Just Ski+ is now free forever for everyone.
I hope this brings in some new players that enjoy quirky, challenging games.
If you don't like difficult games, you might want to steer clear. :-)
Enjoy,
-Jeff
Small update in prep for Just Ski going free.
Simply added a couple links to try "That Flipping Mountain". Not visible while playing.
Head's up. In one week Just Ski+ will become free forever.
Steam requires a week's notice to make the switch to free, so in about a week, this game will be free to play... with not ads or other nonsense.

Just Ski+ A Major Update to Just Ski
The Past
It's been almost 3yrs now since "Just Ski" was first released on Steam.
Yee Haw! I'm on STEAM
Just Ski on Steam started as just an experiment for me. Up until that point I had been primarily focused on mobile game development but always with one eye toward Steam. Just Ski was my latest mobile game at the time and one day I decided to test the waters and release it on Steam.
I made some minor adjustments to the game to get it ready for Steam and released.
The original Just Ski start screen
The experiment went better than expected and I have not been back to mobile game development yet. Don't get me wrong, I will still release my games for mobile platforms, but they will be on Steam first and then ported to mobile rather than the other way around.
After Just Ski was released I made some minor bug fix updates and one medium size update that added the highly requested checkpoints to the game.
I resisted these checkpoints for a LONG time. So glad I finally gave in.
The Present
After the checkpoint update I let Just Ski just sit (like my play on words?) and moved on to start developing my next game, "Just Flip.
Testing some "Parkour Stones" in Just Flip. (Look for Just Flip to release in 2021)
To my surprise, Just Ski kept getting steady downloads and the reviews continued to be very positive. I reached a point with "Just Flip" development where I needed to let it sit for a while and think about it's design. In need of a distraction, I decided it was time to give "Just Ski" a little love and a new name. :-)
"Just Ski" is now "Just Ski+"
The new Just Ski+ start screen
This first release of Just Ski+ includes a major overhaul of the UI and a huge update (for me anyway) to the game graphics. Not to mention a complete refactoring of the underlying code.
Here are some of the things that are new in Just Ski+
Updated the skier graphics (old on bottom, new on top)
New background and foreground graphics
New Menu System
New settings screen with ability to adjust mouse sensitivity
Updated the looping soundtrack with a longer version that has better quality sound.
New Steam capsules/logos for game.
The Future
I've not thought to far into the future yet, but I do have loose plans to finally add a new level or two. Stay tuned for that.
I hope you enjoy this update, I put a lot of time into it. If you do like it, and have not reviewed the game yet, please do. It's very, very helpful given how the Steam algorithm gods work.
Just Ski+ Official Trailer
Hey everyone.
All the development work the the Just Ski+ update is finally complete. I'm just waiting on some updated store images and then I will make the Just Ski+ update live.
In the meantime, here is the updated trailer for Just Ski+

Let me know what you think.
Also, you can still try the Just Ski+ update early if you already own the game. Simply opt in to the beta from the Steam store app.
Just Ski+ Beta Available Now
Hey Everyone.
I decided a while back that Just Ski was getting a bit crusty and needed a little love. Since then, I've been working on an update that I'm calling "Just Ski+".
Don't worry, it's not a new game that you'll need to purchase, it's just a normal update, but it is a pretty big overhaul so I thought I'd give it a new name.
Anyway, I'm at the point where I'd love some existing Just Ski players to test out the new version. I created an open beta and would love if you could take it for spin and give me some feedback.
If you already own "Just Ski" you can get the beta from the Steam App.
Right click on "Just Ski" > Properties > Beta tab > Select "Just Ski+ Beta" and wait for Steam to install it.
If you don't yet own "Just Ski", you'll need to purchase it to get your hands on the beta.
Looking forward to you feedback,
-Jeff
A Change is Coming
Just a tease for now... Stay tuned!

Try The "Just Ski" Sequel, "Just Flip". Free for a Limited Time.
Hey everyone.
First, let me say thanks to all those who have played "Just Ski". Much appreciated! To those who have yet to try it, check the reviews. It's minimal, but fun.
Now, the real reason for this post.
For a limited time (Until Oct 14) you can try "Just Flip", the sequel to "Just Ski".
The mechanics in "Just Flip" are slightly different than "Just Ski" but if you are good at "Just Ski", you should have a leg up on others.
You can get more info and grab it from its Steam Store page.
For those that read this far, some breaking news :-)
I'm also working on a 2020 Refresh for "Just Ski". New graphics and upgraded user interface first, then a new level or two. :-)
Keep an eye out for more news. I'll be posting about it here.
Checkpoints Release Now Available!
This is the 1st major update for Just Ski.
Just Ski is a difficult game. So far, only 6% of players have completed it by making it to the cabin.
This update aims to increase that number by making things a bit more approachable for those that desire it.
If you are already a master of the game then grab the update, turn off the checkpoints with a single click, and ski down to the end to checkout the new cabin scene.
See below for all the details.
Checkpoints
With this update, when checkpoints are enabled, you will no longer be required to ski the entire course without a single crash. Instead, there will be 3 checkpoints along the way.
If and when you crash and restart, you will respawn at the furthest checkpoint you passed. You now have no excuse for not getting to the cabin.
How To Turn Checkpoints On/Off
The checkpoint system is optional and can be very easily toggled on and off. Simply hit the checkpoint toggle button on the bottom of the main screen and ski.
Achievements and Flipping Stats Caveat
There are some caveats to the checkpoint system. I didn't want to make things too easy, so you won't be able to earn most the achievements when using checkpoints. Checkpoints do not need to be disabled to earn achievements, but if you start off from a checkpoint, rather than the beginning of the course, you will not be eligible for achievements.
In addition to no achievements when starting from checkpoints, you also will not get any flipping stats for your run unless you start from the beginning.
Progress Indicator
Lastly, I also added a progress indicator to the top left of the screen to show how far you have to go until the next checkpoint or the cabin depending on the situation.
I hope those that quit this game due to it's difficulty give it another go.
Enjoy!
-Jeff
Checkpoints Update Almost Ready
The checkpoint system is minimal and easy to turn on/off. When on, you will see 3 checkpoints along the ski path. Crash after any one of them and the next time you reset you will spawn at the furthest checkpoint you have passed.
You can toggle points on/off by simply hitting a toggle button on the main screen.
