Demo Quality Of Life Patch

Hey there!



I've pushed a patch that should help with a few issues players were having. These include but aren't limited to:


  • Adjusted all the swinging platforming sections. It should be easier to swing across the ravine and identify alternate routes.
  • Adjusted tongue to be less bouncy and more elastic when swinging.
  • Made a secret easier to find and platform to.
  • Fixed various dialogue issues such as a double trigger, and unintentional triggering of dialogue.
  • Slightly altered player to prevent getting stuck on geometry when climbing.


I've also been made aware that a major gripe with players is a lack of tutorial on how the mechanics work. This will eventually be in the game, maybe the main menu will serve as such, but for now here is a quick rundown!


  • Jumping and Jump height

    • Jumping is done by holding down the jump button. This will charge your jump to the maximum level unlocked.
    • Once the button is released, you will jump up and slightly forward if standing still. If you are moving, your current velocity will be added to the force!
    • To Unlock jump levels, simply find and EAT three crickets! Every three you nab will grant another jump level.

  • Tongue Grappling and Flies

    • Swinging is done by using your tongue on the mystic mushrooms.
    • When swinging through the air, Paul's tongue will get fatigued and you wont be able to swing multiple times! Simply land on the ground to recharge.
    • To gain more swing attempts, find and EAT three flies! Every three you nab will grant another swing level.

More fixes and updates are certainly to come! My main goal is to get the full game finished obviously, though I will be updating the demo when able to correctly reflect the state of the current game.

Opening Menu Issues!

Hey there!



Getting lots of reports of people not able to make it through the menu so I'm making a little guide.



Index Controllers/Oculus Touch:


- Press and hold B, then press the trigger (On the same controller). This should open the menu.

Vive wands:


- Press and hold the Top System Button, and then press the trigger (on the same controller). This should open the menu.

Once the menu is open:



Use your LEFT hand to point at the buttons, and the trigger to interact with the menu. I am left handed in real life, and in the rush of getting everything ready didn't put much thought into that.

I am going to push a patch that changes your default pointer to whatever hand you press the trigger on. In the future, the open menu prompt will change to show the correct bindings based on the current controllers you are using. This was out of scope for the demo however.

Sincerest apologies for allowing myself to be a left handed witch!
But no really, my bad.
