Hello there!

This time we have a smaller update than usual, focusing on some of the newest issues that our community has reported.

Here's the fixlist:
  • Fix for the scene transitions.
  • Fix for UI handling.
  • Minor story fix.
  • Hardware store door trigger fixed.
  • Bramble monster collision model revised.


Hopefully this version is a more stable experience than the previous 1.1.9. If you find game stopping bugs or other severe issues, you can always leave a post at the Kalaban community.

Birthday Sale



Hello there!

My birthday is coming up, so I decided to put Kalaban and its soundtrack on sale to celebrate it.

As you might now, Kalaban went largely unnoticed by the gaming press when it was launched, so since then I have strived to gain some recognition for it. Recently I added Kalaban to the HumbleBundle store, and I have tried to get it on GOG.com multiple times, but without results.

I've been especially happy to see new streamers and players taking on the game, and even seeing John Wolfe doing a video on it. I hope you guys enjoy the newest version of the game, and I'm happy to hear that there is some demand for a sequel or a follow-up for this type of game.

If you have suggestions for improving the game, or some requested features, I'd be happy to hear them.

Version 1.1.9 released!



Hello there!

Our spring sale 2019 is approaching, and we wanted to give the game a new update to celebrate it! We've fixed some issues which the community noted in previous versions.

Here's a list of all the improvements:

  • UI controls updated slightly.
  • UI description function updated.
  • Minor fix to collision detection.
  • Fix for the ground texture disappearing due to memory loss.
  • Fix for the player movement right after loading screen.
  • Map transition triggers now only work when you have stepped away from one.
  • Fix for the attack cooldown after menus and dialogue screens.
  • Door interaction trigger fix.
  • Minor graphical fixes to scene backgrounds.
  • Enemy spawn points slightly revised.


We've been especially happy to see new players, streamers and curators finding Kalaban lately.

Version 1.1.8 released!



Hello there!

I have finished an update that's been on the works for almost a year and a half. This patch addresses some gameplay and graphical issues that the game has had for a long time.

Here's a short list of the things fixed in this version:

  • Auto-attack while you keep your Attack button down, and keep attacking through reload.
  • The description box on objects has been altered.
  • Esc on main menu will also act as a back function.
  • Main menu intro can be skipped.
  • Brightness setting fixed so that you cannot underset or overset the brightness.
  • All the white edges on the level backgrounds fixed.
  • WMV format on the Main menu background video clip.
  • Paula & Kaarina quest bug fixed where you cannot get the item if they have left.
  • Paula’s freezer taunt fixed after the story has gone forward.
  • Enemy health bar sometimes not appearing fixed.
  • Super armor now visible on paper doll in Inventory screen.
  • Better interaction with the first scene’s cabin door.
  • Third scene's big house door’s opening trigger fixed.
  • Fixed flamethrower damage on the Brambler monster.
  • Horde Mode item pickup recognition enhanced.
  • Horde Mode scene changing taken off because of confusion.

Two Year Anniversary Update


Hello there!

It's been well over a year since the last update, and now that Kalaban is changing its publisher, we've decided to release a new patch.

The patch will land on Steam during next week. In addition to that we will have a week-long sale from December 29, 2018, marking the 2 year anniversary of the original release!

Version 1.1.7 released!



Hello there!

We went through old bug listing archives and dusted the project once more. We've fixed a couple of long-time bugs from the game:

  • Some collisions fixed.
  • The quickslot slotting for weapons fixed.
  • Torch staying equipped fixed.
  • Some graphics fixed.
  • Lighting the torch in first scene streamlined.

VERSION 1.1.6 RELEASED!

We've been working on "The Last Patch" for Kalaban, which will fix a larger number of issues that we've had in the game for a long time.

There has been no bug reports for the game recently, and it is very unlikely that we will release another update for it. At the moment, the developers are moving on to another projects, and the game's distribution will be handled by another party soon.

The game will remain in Steam, but Rayhouse Productions will no longer answer to support requests.

  • Added swaying trees effect.

Steam Trading Cards added!

Hello there!

We've finally added Steam trading cards to the game. They're a wanted item with every game release these days, so we figured it's time.

Adding the cards also meant adding badges, backgrounds and emoticons for the game. Especially the emojis were an absurd but fun task to design. Fans of the game will definitely recognize the items included.

Depending on the popularity of these items and our future sales, we might do a couple more cards for the game.

Hello! This one is a smaller patch, but it fixes couple of story and performance bugs that we noted.

We're currently working on Steam Trading Cards, so that's coming in some future update too. Keep an eye out!
