Due to various reasons Karma's released date has been held back till now, we sincerely apologize for the late arrival.
Since Steam's review took longer than expected, our team decided to change our first launch to Itch.
You can now purchase Karma from itch platform (Chinese Ver. only at the moment), we hope that this sad but hopeful story can slightly warm your weary hearts.
Purchase via : https://herstory.itch.io/karma
As promised, all of Karma's revenue (no matter whether you purchased the game on itch for $1.99 USD or more) from 20th November 19 to 21st May 20 (include), will all be donated to Spark Alliance. We will be uploading the donation receipts on our official website, Facebook, Twitter and Patreon every month.
If you specifically like to support our team's works you can do so via Buy me a coffee or subscribe to our Patreon. ( It's totally fine too if you're not interested<3 )
As of Karma's English translation is still in the works, we will try our best to finish off English script translation within this month or before the end of December. The English version will be then release in a form of patch update. In the future, if funding allows, we hope to also add Korean and Japanese version<3 (grin)
Alright then, have fun everyone! Remember to take a proper rest occasionally even you are in a hard time.
Regarding the non-game related topic and hate speech
Greetings. we are Herstory Indie Game Development Team.
Currently, our Dystopia Themed game "Karma" are being attacked by Chinese netizens on various social platforms. We have been informed by couple Chinese internet users, that since steam is having a hard time in China, Karma's dystopia theme may get Steam into some real trouble from Chinese government.
As the game developer, having their players unable to enjoy the game freely and happily is definitely not a situation we want to see, even-though this actually wasn't the fault of Karma, or even Steam.
We have contacted Steam and requested to suspense the sale of Karma in China since yesterday, we hope to come up with a relatively peaceful solution.
To everyone who has supported our game, please allow us to express our deepest gratitude here.
However, Steam's forum was setup for game discussions. Therefore please understand, from today on, any post and comment that are not about the game content will be noted, and any personal attacks and hate speech will all be deleted.
At the same time, we would also like to clarify that Karma is an Dystopia themed Visual Novel developed by Herstory Indie Game but not by Spark Alliance as some Chinese Twitter users have said. Donating Karma's first half year's profit to the non-profit organization—Spark Alliance, was a decision our team has made after discussion.
In addition, Karma was inspired by the events that took place in Hong Kong in June and July. However, the content of the game does not involve any real country, person or event.
Karma has a complete worldview and its own unique history, And these are just one of the important elements that we want our players to experience and enjoy when they play Karma.
We can understand some of you are concern and worry, But before you attack our game or even our team members, please understand that Karma is a story about love, hope, decision and karma. These are also the messages that we want to pass on through this story to you in the real world.
