Developer Breach is delighted to announce the release date for Kartoffl, an adorable puzzle-platformer that tasks players with guiding an adorable group of spuds through an increasingly difficult series of levels.
Releasing on Steam, Meta Quest and Oculus Rift on November 3rd 2022, this unique experience is inspired by classic and beloved puzzle titles like Lemmings, but provides a brand-new perspective on those experiences, thanks to virtual reality.
Using an arsenal of tools, players will manipulate the space, objects and hazards around the spuds by hand to ensure they get through safely. Playable seated, standing, or in full room-scale VR, levels should be tackled from all angles in order to become a true spud handler. Getting to grips with Kartoffl is easy, though, thanks to snappy and intuitive controls designed to place players at the center of the action.
Deceptively cute in appearance, a challenging experience lies just beneath the surface in Kartoffl. Each level is littered with collectable stars, providing an additional level of challenge for players who really want to master the shepherding of spuds from one place to another. With over 60 different levels to explore, players can simply make their way through each one, or go the extra mile and challenge themselves to collect all three stars across each level?
Playing in VR provides a sense of space and tangibility that traditional flatscreen platformers aren’t able to, which is what makes Kartoffl unique. All players will be delighted when they get up close and personal with each spud, as they cartoonishly faceplant, tumble and fall over at every possible hurdle.
Martin Sivertsen, CTO and Creative Director at Breach said “Making Kartoffl has been so much fun for all of us here at Breach, and we’re thrilled to finally be able to release our little puzzle adventure for VR players everywhere to enjoy.“
