KartRider: Drift Service Split Update
Service Split
With the August 28 (PT) Update, the KartRider: Drift service will be split in two:
South Korean and Taiwanese PC Service
Global/Console/Mobile Service
Racers on Console and Mobile devices, as well as all Racers outside of South Korea and Taiwan, will still be able to play KartRider: Drift until early 2025 without issue, and will still be able to match and join custom races with other Racers. Additional changes for the Service Split include:
KartRider: Drift will no longer be downloadable by new players.
K-COIN will no longer be purchasable for any currency.
Web Coupon pages will no longer be available.
The Ranked Queue will conclude with this update.
Time Attack Rankings and Replay files will be reset.

30 new Track Achievements have been added.
Lodumani's "Greed on the High Seas" skill no longer spawns spinning cursed boxes.
Tanya's "Sharp Shooter" skill aura effect is removed if you take too long to aim.
Racer names no longer can use characters that were displayed as a space. Racers with names that used those characters will be prompted to change their Racer Name on their next login.
Fixed an issue where Tanya's "Sharp Shooter" skill crosshair UI did not match the actual target area.
Fixed an issue where item boxes would occasionally appear on top of cursed boxes created by Lodumani's "Greed on the High Seas" skill.
Fixed an issue where Origin Tiera's wand was held upside down when using Victorious (Tiera/Seated).
Fixed a typo within Captain Mola kart description.
Fixed an issue where the rear wheels of the Bubblegum kart were asymmetrical.
Fixed an issue where Racers were reset at a specific section of the "Pirate: Towering Watch" track.
Fixed an issue where Racers with the Corner Guardrails option could fall off the "Desert: Sphinx's Riddle" track under certain conditions.
Fixed an issue where some modeling was abnormally displayed in the "World Tour: Rio de Ja-nitro" track.
Fixed an issue where Racers could fall off the track when hit by Tobi's "Help Me, Sweeper!" skill at a specific section of the "World Tour: Rio de Ja-nitro" track.
Fixed an issue where Racers could fall off the track when using Dao's "Jump" skill at a specific section of the "Northeu: Space Station X" track.
Fixed an issue where characters occasionally floated when using the Reset button in Section Practice in the “World Tour: Rio de Ja-nitro" track.
Fixed an issue where the track background was displayed abnormally in the “Graveyard: Skeletal Citadel” track when switching to Shadow View in Time Attack.
Fixed an issue where the leaderboard was not updated in certain situations in Time Attack when the Shadow Racer is on.
Fixed an issue where Racers could fall to the bottom under certain conditions in the "Pirate: Secret of Shark Island" track when the Edge Guardrails option was on.
Fixed an issue where the gauge bar appeared to be half-full even after meeting the conditions for 3 stars in Singleplayer Challenges.
Fixed an issue where hovering the mouse over the 'Select' button in the Event UI caused the button to change to the Confirm icon.
Fixed an issue where the guide video for the 'Scanner' item was not updated in Item Mode - Item Details.
Fixed an issue where the details of the Proficiency Plus Ticket found within the View Contents popup of Tanya's Pirate King Box could not be seen.
Fixed typos in certain item names and descriptions within the Item Shop.
Fixed an issue where the character occasionally displayed abnormally when moving through the ranks in the Hall of Fame.
(Mobile Only) Fixed an issue where the modeling occasionally displayed abnormally when entering a Custom Race.
(Mobile Only) Fixed an issue where the spacing between each menu of the Options was inconsistent in Custom Race.
(Mobile Only) Fixed an issue where some event buttons were cut off when the client language is set to 'English', depending on the resolution settings.
(Mobile Only) Fixed an issue where some objects in the "Pirate: Split Wave" track displayed incorrectly.
(Mobile Only) Fixed an issue where the torch object in the Lobby background displayed incorrectly.
Service Split Details
As previously announced, with the August 28 (PT) maintenance, KartRider: Drift will be deploying an update that will split the South Korean and Taiwanese PC service from the Global, Console, and Mobile service.
Global / Console / Mobile Service Split Details:
K-COIN Purchase Termination: As of the August 28 (PT) Service Split Update, K-COIN will no longer be purchasable for any currency.
Any already acquired K-COIN will still be usable after the update.
K-COIN, when used, will be consumed in the order of Paid, then Free, then Obtained through events.
New Download Termination: As of the August 28 (PT) Service Split Update, KartRider: Drift will no longer be downloadable by new players.
This includes PC, Mobile, and Console, across all stores.
Those that have already downloaded KartRider: Drift in the past will still be able to download the game client and play.

Dev Blog - Message from Director Jaeyun Cho #2
Hello Racers, this is Jaeyun Cho, from Nitro Studio.
Today, I'd like to discuss the August update content with you.
We plan to proceed with the service separation later this month that will allow us to continue to provide a stable service in the best way we can. Korea and Taiwan's PC platforms will be separated from the current service, and going forward will be managed separately. Separate from Korea and Taiwan's PC Platform service, the Console, Mobile, and Global services will stay within a single service. These two services will be available for all players depending on their platform and location.
This upcoming August update is currently planned to be the final one for Console, Mobile, and Global players. This separated service will remain live until early next year, and you can continue to play until that time. We will follow up with a separate announcement with more details in the near future.
Next, we have more details on Korea and Taiwan's PC service and upcoming changes. For Korea and Taiwan, the current matching play system will be replaced with a "room" system, closer to the original KartRider. This system is closer to the "Custom Game" option that's currently available, which allows players to host their own rooms, or join a pre-made room from a list to begin racing.
You can continue to play with the Racers you wish to play with, and you can also select the track you want to play in, instead of being assigned a random track. We are seeking to improve KartRider: Drift by removing the long wait time for matching, making it easier to play with friends, and allowing players to select their own tracks. We want to support the type of gameplay where you can race whenever, however, with whomever you want.
This new shift to a "room" based system is also the first step for the upcoming changes to the game. We promise to seek improvement in a variety of ways, such as altering the update cadence, content, services and overall creating a better environment for Racers. We will continue to work on improving the game and put forth our best effort to create the gameplay experience you desire. Please be understanding of any inconveniences that may occur during this upcoming period.
To all of the Racers who have been playing on Console and Mobile, as well as to all our Racers around the world who have been enjoying KartRider: Drift, we want to express our sincerest apology yet again. And to the Racers in Korea and Taiwan who play on PC, we ask that you give us one more chance to win over your hearts. In order to make the best version of KartRider: Drift that can be enjoyed by all, this Dev Team will never stop putting forth our best effort.
We understand there may be some worries and concerns. We humbly accept your opinions. We only wish to win back your trust by showing our heart and hard work for this project, and kindly ask for your patience and understanding.

A Ranked Race Event may trigger while racing, pitting you against four other Racers!
Use the items listed in the Ranked Race menu in Ranked Queue matches to earn points and work your way towards the rewards!
The first Racer to 300 points, or the Racer with the most points after 24 hours, will earn the 1st Place Prize, with subsequent Racers earning prizes in their final order.
This event will trigger only once per Racer during the event period.
You can view the point information of other Racers after claiming the reward by reaching the target number of points.
