Dev Blog – Further Improvements on the Drift Drag
With the August 9 (PT) Mid-Season 3 update, we have made improvements on drift drag so that racers could use basic drifts more easily. After this was applied, however, we received feedback from many players about the performance of some advanced techniques, as well as the experience of them, and we have made changes by comparing your feedback and data.
Based on the positive feedback from beginner and intermediate level racers, we confirmed that there were improvements based on the changes on normal drift drags. However, we have also confirmed from racers of higher skill levels that the difference of the performance and experience of advanced drift techniques was larger than intended, causing inconveniences for those expert racers.
The Dev Team has comprehensively considered the situation and is planning to make the improvements to better tune your experience. We will do our best to show you perfection when making any further improvements on dragging and more. Also, we will make sure to review any potential changes on driving, and provide an explanation on incoming changes in advance.
Additional Improvements on Drift Drag
Improvements: Added 3 Drift Escape Options to the Drift Settings Option. Applied Date: This change has been applied to Steam and Nexon Launcher players with the August 11 (PT) client patch, and will be updated on Mobile (iOS/Android) and Console (Xbox/PlayStation) as soon as we are able (date to be announced).

Further Information on the Drift Drag Change
Hey Racers,
We would like to provide a more detailed explanation regarding ‘Improvements have been made to locations where drifting can drag’, that has been applied through the August 9 (PT) patch.
After Karts could be upgraded up to Heroic through the Season 3 update, it came to our attention that drifts would drag even more than before as the overall speed increased.
Since dragging makes it harder to use basic drifts, we have made adjustments to improve this by making drifts end a little bit earlier than before.
As such, dragging has been improved in that normal drifts can be cut off earlier than before, but the performance and experience of some advanced drift techniques may feel different.
We are currently reviewing driving data after the August 9 (PT) update, and we will notify you if there are any additional changes or improvements that will be made.
In the future, we will provide a more detailed explanation in advance through the Patch Notes when there are updates that can create changes in your driving experience.

Momentum System
Momentum is a new system granting rewards to Racers based on their Racer Level, earned by racing in-game.
This system can be found in the [Profile - Momentum] menu.
Level Rewards
Level Rewards are granted when your Momentum Level gets high enough, up to Lv. 500.
These rewards can be claimed once per account.
You can see the rewards for all levels through the [Profile - Momentum - Level Details] menu.
Racers that have already reached the noted levels as a result of their play prior to this update will have those rewards sent to their Garage upon logging in after the Mid-Season 3 Update.
Momentum Missions
Reaching certain levels will unlock Momentum Missions, which can be completed to claim additional rewards.
The Mid-Season 3 Update will add missions up to Lv. 20.
Momentum Mission rewards can be claimed in the UI after completing the mission.

Kart Changes
The hit boxes of some karts have changed for improved driving balance.
Racers will no longer collide with others in Speed Grand Prix that are more than a certain distance away.

Emojis and Quick Chat messages can now be Favorited.
Up to 15 Emojis and 15 Quick Chat messages can be marked as Favorite in the [Communication - Emoji or Quick Chat] menu within the lobby.

Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where the Joy's Surprise Test "Hit" mission would count as being hit when an attack was blocked.
Fixed an issue where Flag Mode would sometimes show a team earning more than 20 points.
Fixed an issue where the national flag for the Glacier: Snowbound Slopes track would appear incorrectly when entering the track window after driving on the track in a Time Attack or Custom race.
Fixed an issue where the national flag for the Factory: Facility 5 track would appear incorrectly when entering a Time Attack race after changing your Preset in the Garage.
Fixed an issue where the Emoji UI and button would not appear in the Results window after finishing the race.
Fixed an issue where the [Communication - Emote] menu would not change to the correct character after changing the character in your Preset.
