Killing Floor: Incursion Launch Date Change - Now November 14th
Hello everyone,
Many of you have noticed that the Steam release date for Killing Floor: Incursion has changed from today to November 14th. We would like to confirm this change and provide additional information about what is happening.
As Incursion proceeded towards the finish line for this major milestone (with the new game mode - Holdout, community requested features, and a new platform release as well) it became apparent that we needed to take a bit more time to get things right. What this means is that the team is taking an extra week to look over all these items to make sure they are up to a standard that not only we are happy with, but we believe you the fans will be happy with as well.
We are very excited to bring the game to Steam and get the new content and features into the hands of new and existing fans as quickly as we can. We strongly believe this is the best move for the game (and its fans) and we thank you for your understanding and patience.
WWAUT - Holdout Mode Details
Hello everyone!
Killing Floor: Incursion is just over one week away for its next major update (and release on Steam) on November 7th! This update will bring with it a hardcore mode for the co-op campaign as well as the brand new Holdout mode - An endless challenge where players can leave their mark as the best Zed Killers around.
Today we want to talk more in depth about some of the feature of Holdout mode. If you’ve been keeping track, Incursion’s Holdout mode is an endless wave mode where players (or 2 person cooperative groups) make a stand and hold out as long as they can to be ranked by leaderboards per level. This includes using the brand new weapon, the Katana, exclusive to Holdout mode!
Today we want to go a bit more in depth about scoring and some of the mechanics exclusive to Holdout mode, starting with powerups!
As players continue the fight against the ever more difficult horde of Zeds in Holdout mode, power ups will make their appearance on the battlefield. These include:
<*>Unlimited ammo - No reload and reduced recoil
<*>Vampire - Damage dealt to an enemy regenerates player health and can add armor

<*>Berserker - All melee does explosive damage, the player is also invincible

<*>Zed Time - Puts the game in zed time while the player can move, reload and shoot in real time.
<*>Nuke - Kills all zeds currently in the world

<*>4x Damage - Deal 4x normal damage with all weapons and damage types
Now beyond these amazing tools of Zed destruction, we have mentioned that players will be competing for top Zed Killer via Leaderboards. The way players will accomplish this is by their actions as they keep up the fight. Players are awarded points for certain actions which are:
<*>Zeds Killed (bigger Zeds are worth more, bosses are worth the most!)
<*>Consecutive head shots (after 3, in a short time period)
So Zed Hunters get practicing! We look forward to seeing just who is the most prepared for the Zed hordes!

Sharpening Up For A Steam Release
Hello everyone!
Some of you may have noticed a new Steam Store page http://store.steampowered.com/app/690810/Killing_Floor_Incursion/
has gone up or are reading this at the Steam Discussions for Killing Floor: Incursion right now. We are happy to confirm that the next destination for the game is indeed the Steam storefront and the HTC Vive. The Steam version of Incursion will launch with the new Holdout gamemode on Nov 7th and is available right now with a 15% pre-order discount.
The Steam version of Incursion will be a full Steamworks title, using Steam as the matchmaking backend, as well as including Steam Achievements and Leaderboards for Holdout mode. Achievements and Leaderboards will also be making their way to the Oculus version of the game - so get ready to show everybody else who is the biggest, baddest Zed killer in the world!
It will be important to note that the Oculus version and Steam versions will NOT be able to matchmake with each other due to the different backends being used.
But that’s not all! Also coming Nov 7th is a new weapon. We’ve enjoyed watching many of you slice and dice Zeds up and we wanted to make sure that you could do it in the classic Killing Floor style - via katana.
This new weapon will only be available in the upcoming Holdout mode, where players will be challenging themselves and each other to see who can be the last one standing (and the most stylish!)
We are expecting to share more details next week about all things Holdout as we head into the launch of this update (and release on Steam)! We look forward to seeing you play and hearing your feedback!

Holding Out - For The Win
Hello everyone!
The team has continued to be hard at work since launch. We have been busy tracking down and fixing issues that you, the players, have been reporting. Some of these are happening behind the scenes (such as fixing a matchmaking issue which happened earlier this week), while others are targeted for our first major patch in the coming days.
But that is not all! We're already working on our first major free content pack, for all Incursion owners, later this year. Introducing Holdout - A One or Two player continuous onslaught of enemies for you (and a friend) to fend off, before succumbing to the horde. Do you have what it takes to survive and last the longest? Challenge yourself against others in the leaderboards to see who really is the ultimate Zed Killer!
Before we go into additional details on how the mode currently works, keep in mind everything is subject to change as we continue to iterate on the gameplay. With that in mind, here is a current look at how it is all coming together!
After players complete a level in the campaign, that level will be opened up to be played in Holdout. Inside this level will be a single location that players are tasked with defending as long as possible. As previously mentioned, there is a continuous onslaught of Zeds - this means no breaks for trading. Starting with a pistol and knife, players will need to scavenge for better weapons as time goes on. As players progress, the Zeds will start getting more aggressive and more challenging Zeds will enter the fray, including multiple bosses at once!
The team is busy prototyping cool new unique features and mechanics to add to the mode that we aren’t ready to detail out just yet! We hope you have enjoyed this first look at what is to come! We’ll be sharing more details as work continues and we welcome your feedback.
The Incursion team here at Tripwire has already announced that they are working towards a new wave based “Holdout” mode, but there is more to come and today we want to share some of that with you. We’ve been reading your feedback asking for more ways to play Incursion, such as a new difficulty, and we agree! With the next major update alongside Holdout we are also targeting the inclusion of a new Hardcore difficulty mode for the main campaign.
“But what is “Hardcore?” you ask. Let’s dive in! First off, players will be able to choose the new Hardcore mode via the map select screen or change it dynamically from in game if they find their current experience too easy or hard for their tastes. Now once a player (or co-op group) has entered hardcore they will notice a few things are different, resulting in the game being less forgiving with more challenging Zeds harrowing the player. This plays out via the following mechanics:
Zeds, like their Killing Floor 2 brethren, have learned how to sprint, making them come in to attack much faster. At the same time they will be coming in with more “friends” than before, giving players more targets to take out in style.
Along with numerically greater and improved Zeds, players will also find that boss battles have increased the challenge as well. We would tell you, but want to leave some fun surprises for the next time you visit with them.
But that isn’t all. The team has also been looking at how to address other pain points that have been raised by the community. We are happy to confirm we are adding smooth rotation option as well as fixing many (if not all) specific map areas players have reported having navigation issues with - either in teleport or free move modes.
Stay tuned for more exciting news in the coming weeks, including more details about Holdout as well as... was that a new weapon I saw? Til next time,
