Welcome Monarchs (no matter the period, you're all Monarchs to us!),
We wanted to take the time to show off our gnarly new key art featuring who you'll meet and help you in Kingdom Eighties!
For those who got the chance to play the demo at Gamescom, PAX or Tokyo Game Show, you've already met The Champ and seen how his strength aids you in closing the portals near the camp. We'll discuss him and your other friends in the coming month! ๐
Speaking of conventions, here are some shots of where we've been lately! Thank you again to everyone who popped by; we hope you had fun and were able to snag some Kingdom swag from us.
If you couldn't play the demo, you can watch a little bit of it on our store page as Gordon and Angelica battle the Greed in an attempt to recover their camp canoe. Gordon chats about his inspiration for the game and reveals some exciting things to expect in Kingdom Eighties!
Do you have your own questions to ask? Well, you can ask them directly to some of the team on Monday 26th of September on our Discord server! We'll host a live text Q&A between 12-1 pm EST / 18:00-19:00 CEST. So what're you waiting for? Come on over. ๐
Until then, you can catch us watching our favourite 80's flicks with some uhh, friends?
Gamescom 2022 roundup.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at Gamescom. We were thrilled to show off some Kingdom Eighties gameplay and loved hearing your feedback.
We'll be at PAX West this week if you want to have a go yourself (Level 4, Booth 745!) But if you can't make it, that's okay; we have a little sneak peek of the gameplay right here:
We also have a message to share from the top Monarch himself! ๐
Gordon Van Dyke:The backstory [of Kingdom Eighties]; youโre a camp counselor when these mysterious creatures attack, youโre given a Crown of Creation to lead the kids to defeat the Greed and save your town and families. Along the adventure you recruit some npc friends who will join the adventure as you battle your way from camp to the town, and the finally standoff with the Greed.
The motivation for the summer camp was for the story with the bonus it would feel familiar to Kingdom players, and a solid setting for new players to learn the mechanics. Once you escape the summer camp to your suburban neighborhood is where the settings really change taking you somewhere very new for each level.
Why the 80s? I was 5 to 15 through the 80s, so the location and references to the 80s comes from my own childhood. ๐
Keep your eyes peeled for more blogs and streams in the future!
Come play our demo at Bit Summit!
Greetings Monarchs!
For those of you who've left your Kingdom to visit us at Bit Summit, welcome! We're proud to show you the first sneaky peeks at gameplay for Kingdom Eighties! If you're more interested in Two Crowns and haven't played Norse Lands, it'll also be there to play!
So what're you waiting for, come on over to the Raw Fury booth and play some games!
Safe travels,
