Dear monarchs!

Here’s what’s new in this update:

Fixed an issue that prevented players from buying squires and ronin when playing on an older save file.

Fixed an issue that caused developed islands to reset completely upon the player’s return.

Those of you affected by the bug may find that your current ruler will have a hard time surviving the greed on a reset island, but everything should continue as usual once your heir claims the crown.

Fixed an issue that caused the player to be stuck in a looping loading screen.

Test Branch for Never Alone fix Now Live

Dear monarchs!

Our developers have been working hard to resolve the issues that were introduced with the Never Alone update released on April 20th. We have now uploaded a hotfix to the public-test branch. Eager monarchs who want to help us test this hotfix and get back to playing can now access that branch and try it out.

This branch contains the fix to two issues that is currently affecting all players. Here are the notes for the update:

  • Fixed an issue where players loading older saves could not buy squires or ronin at the castle shield shop.
  • Fixed an issue where players would lose all progress upon returning to a previously developed island.

To the players who have had their islands reset:
If you have saved your game on another island than the one affected, there is a small chance that your island will be restored to its former glory the next time you return. Unfortunately, this will not be possible for all players affected by this bug, and we're sorry for the damage this has caused to your reigns if this doesn't fix your issue. We were not prepared for issues of this scale and are now doing our best to prevent them from happening again in future updates.

Here's how to access the public-test branch:
1. Right-click the game in your Steam Library list
2. Choose Properties...
3. In the "Betas" tab, choose public-test in the dropdown menu.
4. Wait for the game to update to the new version

Once we are sure the hotfix is working, it will be moved out of the test version and published for all players. We are also planning a second hotfix update at a later date which will contain fixes to additional new bugs that have been reported after the launch of Never Alone.

Thanks for being so accommodating while we fix these issues!

A note from the Kingdom team [Update]

We previously mentioned we are addressing some issues that went live with the Never Alone update and while we're still investigating and assessing the situation for the current ongoing problems, we aim to set a beta patch live tomorrow on PC and will post a larger status update for all the platforms when we do. Sorry for the issues currently plaguing the realm.

A note from The Kingdom Team

We have received word of major issues affecting many players after the latest update - Never Alone. The team here at Raw Fury, Fury Studios and Stumpy🐙Squid are doing everything they can to get a fix together as soon as possible.

In the coming days and weeks, we'll deliver a number of patches to the beta branch on steam, with a goal to push them live as soon as possible - beginning as early as next week. The first of these patches will focus on the "shield" issue preventing players from progressing and the subsequent fixes will address other issues as fast as we can fix them.

For those of you that are affected by save games that you can't continue, our recommendation is that you start a new game in a new save slot, or try the new challenge island until it's safe to return to your old kingdom. When the fixes are rolled out, we will communicate which issues are affected and if it's possible to get back to ruling your old saves.

We're truly sorry about the frustration this has caused, but hope that we can get everything up and running again as soon as physically possible. Please keep an eye out on our usual channels for more communications around the updates, as and when they happen.
