Patch 0.1.0 - Ready for the Weekend
Dear Players,
We invite you to join us this weekend, to welcome hundreds, if not thousands of new players.
With Kingdom Wars 2: Battles finally reaching version 0.1.0 we felt that the time was right to expand our player population. To this extend we are running several simultaneous promos this weekend, from sales, and advertisement to giveaways.
So lets put Battle into Kingdom Wars 2, and finally see a hundred of simultaneous PvP games:)
With patch 0.1.0 we hope we are ready for what`s coming. And thanks to your bug reports, and votes on what features we should work on - our 0.1.0 patch is finally here.
We focused on bug fixes, and polishing gameplay. To that extend we have fixed vast majority of the major issues reported by our players. Remaining minor issues should be sorted by next weekend
-Singleplayer Campaign checkpoint saving system added
-Worked on making game fully playable on 3k, 4k resolutions
-Improved GUI for low resolutions
-Improved Highest Shadow Quality
-Improved Highest Water Quality
-Added Russian Localization - only main menu and Chapter 1 translated so far
-Started updating German localization, courtesy of Max H.
-Fixed Elven tree building exploit
-Fixed Peasants getting stuck in a Barn building
-Fixed magic research tech lineup
-Fixed major but preventing players from researching certain techs
-Fixed game breaking bug with accepting Challenge while viewing techs
-Fixed common GUI breaking error on low and high resolutions
-Fixed major bug with Option settings resetting
-Fixed issue with music volume not properly saving
-Fixed unlocking Siege Of Throwing Doom
-Fixed large number of minor campaign chapter 1 bugs
-Fixed Oil Carts not properly laying oil
-Fixed bug with extremely high Orc Laborer damage
-Adjusted draw distance to improve performance on all systems
-Changed default view angle to 90 degrees to sync with the minimap better
-Trebuchet and Siege catapult can now attack buildings
-Various improvements to in-game chat on different resolutions
-Berserker, Impaler, Slayer, and Warg no longer able to attack trees.
-Updated main loading screen
-Update art for all icons including abilities, upgrades, and techs
-Options window scaling corrected
-Increase Human Archer cost by 30%
-Added campaign objective complete sound
Patch 0.0.9 - In Sync
This week our main focus was on getting rid of the game breaking out of sync bugs; that greatly effected multiplayer experience.
We are happy to say that we should be absolutely OOS free in 1vs1, with very rare instances of minor OOS still in 2vs2, on player disconnect.
This patch also helps new players get started with free crafting items, as well as makes GUI look and act much better on low resolutions.
Our next priority is improving performance, and getting rid of multiplayer lag. After that we`ll continue working on player suggestions.

Patch 0.0.9 -Fix majority of out of sync issues
-Chat is now properly scaled on low resolutions
-GUI scaling for campaign menu
-First batch of new icons for human and elven abilities
-New players now start the game with several crafting items
-Crafting menus now display a sign on items player can, and can`t afford
-Reduced unit fog of war values
-Fixed horse cart twitching animation
-Sound FX will no longer play if the game is minimized
Patch 0.0.8 - Fog of War
Hope everyone`s enjoying the long Easter weekend!
With today`s patch 0.0.8 we focused on bug fixes, and polishing gameplay. To that extend we have fixed over half of the major issues reported by our players. We expect to handle all of the remaining bugs with the two following patches.
In addition, we started including features from our first player vote. While upgraded to pathfinding and combat will take us a few more days to implement, we`ve included fog of war.
And we have a big surprise for you next week, an awesome feature that we hope you love, and that fundamentally changes the gameplay.

-Support for large resolutions up to 4k
-Fixed major bug with buildings disappearing
-Fixed major bug with Chat getting stuck on screen
-Fixed major issue with game not recording wins and losses properly
-Fixed major bug with player loosing, if his ally disconnected, and allied flag was captured
-Potential fix for a combat crash bug
-Improved visual performance added 5-7 FPS on average
-Improved game visuals on low settings
-Greatly reduced bloom on units
-Fixed tech to allow Dwarven Champions
-Fixed some buttons in tech tree not working
-Fixed last loosing by mistake bug in Chapter 1
-Greatly improved Chapter 1 performance
-Removed auto-canceling building construction near walls
-Polished a lot of text in-game, removing unused references
-Correct Elven symbiosis resources description
-Interface now properly scales on low resolution, just chat left to update
-Add notification for players with mouse not working on first login
-Players logs are much cleaner and smaller now, removed extra debugs
-Change to the game camera - less zoom, and angle
-Disallowed building construction over resources and near gates
-Updated positional sound, fades out more gradually now
-Updated main loading screen - still WIP
-Fog of War effect is now darker
-Fixed Elven Deer Communication, deer cost 30, lowers to 20
-Added 9 pop cap to War Lodge (Matching Tree Dwelling)
-Added 4 pop cap to Arcane Sanctuary, Champions Hall, Menagerie, Sanctuary, Wizards Tower
-Increased Forest Spirit wood income by 35%
-Added new countdown timer for server shutdown
-Labourer gathering rates reduced by 20%-30%
-Marauder hunt rate reduces by 40%
-Marauder spawn time increased
-Labourer and Marauder cost reduced
-Grand Hut added food cost to upgrade, and increased stone price

Open Development With Alpha testing complete, Kingdom Wars II: Battles has a solid foundation in place, and the game is already a lot of fun and stable; We think that the time is right to get the Steam community involved. Over the following months, we will work together, and your combined player feedback will determine what the team works on, and what features we add.
Our team will do everything in our power to open up the development and commit to weekly updates. We plan to talk with our players directly in-game, and read and reply to almost every forum suggestion and reports. Players will be asked to vote on features proposed by other players, and our team will do our best to add most desired ideas, and features in-game.
Please keep in mind, that KW2B is a work in progress. And while we did our best to eradicate most bugs prior to Early Access launch, it is far from perfect. In addition - as we are adding new player requested features we expect new bugs, and issue to arise.
KW1 Players We are taking special care of our KW1 players, with special discounts on KW2 EA, and KW1 bonuses for playing KW2. You should have received email on Monday with all the details prior to EA launch.
And to remind you - we are planning a huge update to KW1 this Spring, that will introduce all the awesome KW2 tech into KW1. Our goal is to make KW1 absolutely lag-free, without any crashes, with new awesome pathfinding, and 4 player PVP battles, and so much more. While some might view us releasing a new game as negative, one way to think about it - is - we are investing a lot of time and resources into a massive KW1 update, and meanwhile releasing another awesome game.:)
Alpha Players Good news - due to overwhelming Alpha participation, we decided to give back. So all Alpha CD keys are now good for retail. There is nothing you need to do; your alpha key automatically works with Early Access, and Retail later on. We just wanted to give back to our community with this gift as our way of saying thank you to our early supporters, and for the great community feedback during this time.

Our Early Access date is now official - 1pm EST, this coming Monday, March 30th.
We hope to see many of our KW2B Alpha, and KW1 players, come to celebrate this major milestone, as well as to be joined by hundreds Strategy lovers, interested in trying a new game, and perhaps, helping us make this into a true RTS masterpiece.
