On 8 May 1695, the young monarch of the kingdom of Osten-Troiden, Aleherd von Koen, commanded the royal fleet in order to defend his homeland against the attack from Kingsberg. During the sea battle between the two kingdoms, the enemy naval forces used weapons enhanced by the magic of the Ibis Corvum amulet, which made them invincible.
King Aleherd brought the half of the amulet representing the raven with him, so that the enemy wouldn’t take possession of it in case of his death. He didn't know that the artifact had been activated. When his ship was under attack and then sunk by the enemy, the magical power of the amulet started working, turning its owner into a raven.
Transformed into a bird, King Aleherd flew to Sunniva, the capital city of the Osten-Troiden kingdom. Thanks to the powerful magic of the amulet, he was able to return home from the lost sea battle.
Ligia von Koen confessed to her husband that she had helped her father activate the magical artifact. Controlled by an evil force from the amulet, Aleherd went so mad that he shot his beloved wife. When he realized what he had done, it was too late – Ligia died in his arms. Distraught, Aleherd transformed back into a raven and left the royal castle probably forever.
Ligia’s father, Mark III Kaizen, seized the opportunity and cynically accused Aleherd von Koen of killing his own father and other monarchs who had recently died.
After eliminating the Koen family from the game, the Kingdom of Velesgard was fully prepared to conquer the entire region of Terra Inflaria, but... to achieve total domination, Mark III Kaizen needed the last missing piece of the puzzle – the half of the amulet with the raven.
The owl and the raven were to face each other in a final battle...

In the middle of the Narrass Lake, located next to the royal castle in Sunniva, there lies a well-protected sacred island of Yerung that can only be visited by the representatives of the royal family. The half of the powerful Ibis Corvum amulet representing the raven is kept there.
Princess Ligia von Koen (née Ligia Von Kaizen), who has married the prince and heir of the Osten-Troiden Kingdom, Aleherd von Koen, believes the precious object can no longer be safe on the island and urges her husband to take it and hide it inside a secret chamber in the castle.
Having received the other half of the amulet, the one with the owl, from her father Mark III Kaizen, Ligia has access to both parts of Ibis Corvum. When occasion arises, she sneaks into the secret chamber and reconnects the two pieces, thus reactivating the amulet. With each reactivation, both halves of the talisman regain some of their magical powers and retain them for a certain period even after they are separated.
Unaware of the danger her actions pose, Ligia decides to split the amulet again and return the part with the owl to her father. She doesn’t know that using the piece has the effect of transforming a person's heart into a dark abyss.
Mark III Kaizen takes the half of the amulet back and relies on its magical powers to turn steel into gold and to charge weapons with powerful magic. The evil force of the magical object is starting to control the king’s soul: he begins to lose his heart and to slowly turn into a demon. The amulet also gives him the ability to transform into an owl and visit all the 12 kingdoms of Terra Inflaria in one night. Mark III Kaizen takes on demonic qualities and decides to murder the kings that he is indebted to.
During the night, he turns into an owl, visits the castles of his creditors or potential rivals and kills them. He also allies himself with the kings of the kingdoms of Somirland, Vorift, Tauren, Est-Virland-Harren and Kingsberg. The monarchs voluntarily give him their magic crystals, which further strengthens the power of the part of the amulet that he possesses.
In 1695, the kings allied with Mark III Kaizen wage an attack on the other kingdoms of Terra Inflaria. By this time, Mark III Kaizen has already managed to kill the kings of the following kingdoms: Gotland, Ravillrand, Latgallia, Goldingen, Yatvingvarg and Osten-Troiden.
No one knows that Mark III Kaizen is the mysterious assassin of the monarchs. Meanwhile, the deceitful king of Velesgard plans to collect all the 12 crystals, as well as the part of Ibis Corvum with the raven so that the amulet can reach its maximum power.

Devlog #5: Conspiracy and Revival of Velesgard’s Power
Dear Citizens of Twelve Kingdoms!
After deactivating the Ibis Corvum amulet, some of the kingdoms of Terra Inflaria benefited greatly, while others lost a lot. The realms that had previously invested in the development of technology and science began to earn a lot of money from technological innovations. Those that had chosen to develop magic instead, started losing their importance quickly.
The kingdoms of Somirland and Velesgard were the ones that suffered the most. In 1639, during the period of military and technological exchange, they were invaded by the Skiffs, a tribe of nomads from the North. The defense war lasted five years until 1644. The kingdoms managed to repel the attack, but were so devastated that they fell into economic stagnation.
The players enter the game world in 1695, which is a crucial year for Terra Inflaria. King Mark III Kaizen of Velesgard, whose kingdom has become immensely indebted, decides to rebuild its military and economic power. In order to do that, he creates a plot that also involves his daughter Ligia von Koen aus der Kaizen…

Ibis Corvum was the most powerful magical amulet in Terra Inflaria. It was used as an activator for other magical artifacts and devices. Ibis Corvum consisted of two conjunct images of an Owl and a Raven, cast in precious metals. Its chain was adorned with ten magical crystals: five on each side of the pendant. Each crystal had a magical rune engraved on it.
After signing the Magna Carta Technocratum, the Council of the 12 Kingdoms deactivated the amulet. It was split into two pieces — the Raven and the Owl, which were to be stored by two selected monarchs. King Ostren-Troiden received the part with the Raven, while King Velesgard got the part with the Owl. Each of the other members of the Council of the 12 Kingdoms got one magical crystal for storage. The division of the Ibis Corvum amulet served to ensure that the powerful artefact would never be reactivated.

During the late Middle Ages, Terra Inflaria was under the influence of the doctrine of Opus Magicum, which promoted the exploration and use of ancient magical powers, as opposed to developing alchemy and science.
In 1611, the most powerful monarchs of the continent concluded a treaty known as Magna Carta Technocratum, which introduced a great new vision of abandoning the widespread use of magic and focusing on Alchemy, Technology and Science instead.
Under Magna Carta Technocratum, all magical artefacts were to be deactivated. Enthusiasm for technology, governed by the laws of physics and chemistry, was to replace the cult of the supernatural. However, not all the monarchs believed in the new technocratic reality. In response to the charter, many secret orders and fraternities sprang to life to cultivate and preserve the knowledge of magic. Even conspiracy movements emerged in an attempt to restore the long-established magical world.
It was the beginning of a new era, where people’s desire to reject magic and embrace technology, manifested most clearly through the signing of Magna Carta, clashed with the traditionalists’ determination to protect the old ways. The year 1611, when the pro-science charter was issued, is widely considered to mark the birth of the the Renaissance in Terra Inflaria.
