In this Update I've managed to clean up and added some new functions that makes it easier to you to find all Collectables. Here is a list of improvements. Very satisfied :)
Latest Updates: 1. More sound effects for enemies.
2. The SideQuests Info inside the Pause Menu is including Suns and Moons to indicate what time of the day you can accept the mission.
3. The World Map in TwinPeaks also includes Suns and Moons so you know what Level can be accessed during day/night. (These symbols are Very small on the Map, so it's only for the Players who pay attention...)
4. All SideQuests have rewards (some of them already had Health+). Now you get some money from the other ones. The cash you get never disappears, so you can go back to these Quest Givers and pick up money more then once, in case you need cash for Harry's Shop.
5. Harry's Shop-Hints are now unlocked IF you already picked up that particular treasure. This makes it easier for the Player to 100% the game. BUT, The Golden Cogs remain the same though, If you need help finding Golden Gocs you have to pay 100Pix each - even if you already have picked it up... But you know, the Oracle In TwinPeaks always have hints on where to go, so You might not need to pay for the hints, Good Luck chuck!
Update 1.1
After some feedback from the community I've been sitting all week improving things that I missed while bug-testing the game on my own. Here is a list of improvements!
1. You can no longer jump-punch-jump (Previously you could jump and punch, and then jump again to reach new heights. In order to reach that height you need the Power-Jump Upgrade. 2. If you Punch and Jump shortly after, KnifeBoy used to "glitch" jump upwards. (This is fixed as well) 3. Box Collisions in general are much much smoother now and KnifeBoy is not acting weird when he hits certain ceilings. 4. Parts of ShantyTown is darkened to make it easier to see where the platforms are, platforms in ShantyTown are also "popping" more now.
Hope you enjoy the updates and thanks to everyone who bought the game and gave me feedback. It has only been a week since release but the game improved a lot thanks to the feedback and reviews! Off course I wish the game was at this stage at release but as a solo developer I simply overlooked a lot of the bugs. But thanks to you guys KnifeBoy is now a much better game! Thanks!
Update Patch 1.0
The new update is live. Its bedtime here in Tokyo so I can't double check if everything is up to snuff, but from what I manage to play it seem to run much better.
- The controller is improved and Knifeboys movement is improved (previously there was a glitch appearing when hitting the ceiling and he could get stuck in a Crouch/Duck animation while Power-Jumping.. That's fixed now!) - I've also added some simple information inside the Gym on how to Hack treasure chests if you're using KeyBoard (A Steam user pointed this out - Thanks!) - One of the larger enemy types had a strange Hit Collider which was easy to miss. (This Hit Collider is larger now and positioned better, so it make more sense.) - The original Controller sprites are set for Xbox Controller and if you change to PS4/KeyBoard the sprites might overlap each other for a short period of time (Pointed out by a user). I need more time to fix this but since it will only happen once, I thought I should release the Patch to fix the Controller first.
Again, no game breaking bugs so far. Only minor ones that I missed before launching the game. Enjoy the game and keep on slicing knife-heads!
