Knight Eternal

The Absinthia Kickstarter's Final Push

Hello everyone!

The Absinthia campaign has made it far thanks to everyone who's played Knight Eternal and supported my other projects. Thanks to your efforts, we're currently at 83% funding as of this writing.

Though the campaign's performed well up to this point, the reality is that we're still 17% short of the base goal. Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing platform, so if we don't reach the goal, then we don't receive any funds.

If you haven't pledged already, now is the time to do so. If you don't want to or can't afford to pledge, you can still help support the project by following and/or retweeting my Kickstarter links.

If you're interested in making a pledge, here's an overview of the rewards:

  • Tier 1: Digital Key
  • Tier 2: Digital Key, OST & Desktop Wallpapers
  • Tier 3: Bewitched Bundle (digital keys for Knight Bewitched: Enhanced Edition and Celestial Hearts)
  • Tier 4: Early Access (all above rewards + access to the game 1-2 months in advance)
  • Tier 5: Leave a Message! (on a poster, grave, book or TV)
  • Tier 6: Become an NPC!
  • Tier 7: Design an Enemy!
  • Tier 8: Design a Boss! (3 slots available)
  • Tier 9: Become a quest-giver! (design an NPC, quest and quest reward--3 slots left)

As a reminder: If you plan on purchasing Absinthia on launch, please consider making a $15 pledge instead. The project gets more of your money that way (instead of Steam taking a 30% cut), and you'll be helping the project come to life.

Once again, here is a link to the Kickstarter. Also if you missed my previous updates, here's some screenshots so you have an idea of what Absinthia's all about:

Once again, here's the link to the Kickstarter. Have a great weekend!

Knight Eternal News and Absinthia Kickstarter + Demo

Hello everyone! I made an announcement similar to this one for Knight Bewitched, and it went pretty well so I figured I'd make another one!

I wanted to take an opportunity to share a few fun tidbits about Knight Eternal followed by some news for my upcoming title Absinthia.

Knight Eternal originally released on November 19, 2019, Knight Eternal was my 4th official release (technically my 5th overall, but I'm not counting Roguelite). Knight Eternal was my first (and only) game to feature skill trees, which helped make it a fan favorite--at least to anyone who hasn't played Knight Bewitched!

To date, Knight Eternal has sold about 1,350 copies on Steam. With Steam key activations, that number goes up to just over 2,000. Counting sales from other sites like Itch, Aldorlea and Google Play, total copies distributed is likely above 3,000.

Absinthia

With that out of the way, let's talk about my upcoming title Absinthia! Make sure to stop by the Steam page and add it to your wishlist! (No, seriously, please! Wishlists are super important for the algorithm!)

A demo for Absinthia is available and can be downloaded from the game's store page!

A crowdfunding campaign for Absinthia will launch in mid-late April and run through May. If successful, we're looking at a release date of January 2023. Feel free to follow it so you'll be notified when the campaign goes live!

Similar to my campaigns for Celestial Hearts and Knight Bewitched: Enhanced Edition, we're crowdfunding to cover the cost of assets. The artwork is being done by various talented pixel artists, while Jazz Stewart is making a return from Knight Bewitched: Enhanced Edition for the original soundtrack.

We're looking to raise about $23,000. This is significantly more than our previous campaigns - but with a higher funding goal comes better rewards, such as:

-Digital keys, OST, desktop wallpapers and credits
-Digital keys for Knight Bewitched and Celestial Hearts
-Early Access
-Leaving your own message in an object in-game
-Having your own NPC complete with name and dialogue
-Designing your own legendary weapon, enemy, boss, or your own quest!

If you have any questions about Absinthia, feel free to ask here or DM me on Twitter.

Have a great week and stay safe!

Story

Deep within the continent of Belume lies Livia, a small village of nymphs and fairies. Kayah, a young elf and guardian of Livia, is slowly recovering from the loss of her partner. One fateful night, the village is raided by the Graveharts, an ultra-rich and powerful family that all but owns Belume.

Kayah, her friend Sylvie, and the nymphs wake up in an underground prison. During their escape, they find a winged woman chained up and passed out. After escaping and nursing the angel back to health, they learn that her name is Helen--and little else besides that she is aware of a purpose she cannot remember.

Kayah, feeling drawn to Helen, vows to keep her safe as they flee from the Graveharts. But the two, alongside their friends Sylvie, Gail and Matthias, know that they can't run forever...

What is Helen's purpose, and how is it connected to the Gravehart family? And more importantly, what is this indescribable feeling between Helen and the elf who has sworn to protect her?

8-29-2020 Bugfix

Hello,

This is an update to address an edge-case bug involving some players not receiving HP from the HP nodes on each character's skill tree. Every other stat (besides possibly MP, in some cases) works as intended.

Unfortunately, I've never been able to replicate this issue--and neither I nor my playtester encountered it during development--and since I'm currently developing a new game, this bug will remain in place. However, I have increased the HP growth of each character for players who aren't gaining HP from the skill tree.

  • Every character's base HP and HP growth has been bumped up to compensate for players whose HP nodes on the skill tree aren't working
  • Removed a few false damage tiles from the Underbog
  • HP for some enemies was increased, and enemies have significantly increased stats in Hard mode

Bugfix 12-17-19

Hello,

A minor bug was fixed today where the player would incorrectly be placed behind a bookshelf upon leaving the corridor behind the king's room in Deepforge III.

If you encounter any issues or have suggestions, email me anytime at Jkweath@gmail.com.
