Knights of the Silver Table

Cenokga Game Development Update – November 2023

Hello everyone!

Kyle here, from Cenokga. Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

This is a game development update for games by Cenokga going forward.

In an earlier post, I said that the development of Knights of the Silver Table was being put on hold.

Well, due to the recent announcement about GameMaker changing back to One Time payments, I’m happy to say that the development of games by Cenokga will continue being developed by GameMaker for the time being.

When GameMaker changed its pricing to subscriptions, I felt like game development using GameMaker, might not continue. Although I had the original Permanent License, the new runtime was said to not be included. Among other things, this created a long period of waiting and consideration. Multiple games had been in development using GameMaker, and learning a new game engine seemed like a hard thing to do. Also, because I had invested so many hours, months and years into using GameMaker. It was a back and forth, thought process of whether to learn a new game engine that was free to start or continue using GameMaker and decide to not release on console. Well, since GameMaker for Desktop exports, is back to a One Time payment, development will continue using GameMaker for the time being. I don’t know about console releases, as the price is still $79.99 a mo or $899.99 a yr. This will be something to consider later as development of games continue.

I wanted to also say that Knights of the Silver Table is still planned to be released. But some things about the game are changing. Like the scope of the game. I first wanted Knights of the Silver Table to have around 10 Worlds. But to make a game of that size and to make each of the 10 Worlds be unique, fun and engaging, it would take some time. So, I’ve decided to make the scope of the game shorter. Also, so I can use the other ideas for any sequels (hint, hint). A game doesn’t have to be long to be fun. It just needs to be fun.

There are also more games in development and planned to be released. So, stay tuned for future announcements!

Again, I want to thank all of you who still have Knights of the Silver Table on your Steam wishlist.

But, if you don’t, please wishlist it here.

Until the next update,

Be Strong and Courageous!

Cenokga Game Development Update – March 2023

Hello, everyone!

It’s Kyle with an update on the development of Knights of the Silver Table and future games going forward.

Knights of the Silver Table was planned to be released in November 2018, but has since been delayed by various things, like: Waiting for console approval, The current Game Engine, Game Engine Costs, Other Projects, etc.

I want Knights of the Silver Table to be a quality game and the scope of what is planned is much bigger than when development started.

One of the biggest reasons for delaying Knights of the Silver Table is figuring out if the current game engine is the right one for Knights of the Silver Table.

There are other reasons why I would be moving to another game engine, but this post is not to talk about that.

Currently the game engine used is GameMaker, and to make things short, I don’t like the flow of how GameMaker has become and I’m not confident that it is the right game engine for Knights of the Silver Table or future games.

Whichever choice is made on a game engine, the development of Knights of the Silver Table is being put on Hold for the time being.

I also want to say Thank You, to the people who still have Knights of the Silver Table on their Steam wishlist and have been waiting for it’s release.

I will update when development is either continued in GameMaker or started in a different game engine.

Knights of the Silver Table Development Update - January 14th, 2022

Hello everyone! Happy New Year!

Kyle here, from Cenokga, with another development update on Knights of the Silver Table.

Graphical changes have been made to knights of the Silver Table to give a more polished look and feel.

Please see the updated trailer and screenshots.

Other projects are currently being worked on as well as Knights of the Silver Table. But. I will still be posting development of Knights of the Silver Table as development progresses.

Also, the base resolution has been changed from 640x360 to 416x240. This will scale to 720 and 720 windowed on a 1080 monitor. Improvements are being worked on the look good in fullscreen mode on a 1080 monitor.

Updates might slow down on Knights of the Silver Table as other un announced games are also in development.

Until the next update,

Be Strong and Courageous!

Knights of the Silver Table Development Update - November 13th 2021

Hello everyone!

Kyle here, from Cenokga, with another development update on Knights of the Silver Table.

Some graphical changes are being made to knights of the Silver Table to give a more polished look and feel.

Also, Knights of the Silver Table is being changed from 4-player Co-op to single player.

I know this is a big change from how Knights of the Silver Table was marketed, but I've been sending Knights of the Silver Table to publishers along with another game and have been told from some publishers that they would rather not publisher a multiplayer game.

That is not to say that Knights of the Silver Table will get a multiplayer feature. It's just that the current version will be single player.

I still plan on Knights of the Silver Table being multiplayer somehow, by either releasing a deluxe version, or adding it later on as an update.

This will be a start in frequent updates to the development of Knights of the Silver Table. Other projects are currently being worked on as well as Knights of the Silver Table. But. I will still be posting development of Knights of the Silver Table as development progresses.

Also, I want to give a big thank you, to the people who are constantly adding Knights of the Silver Table to their wishlist, even though it's not released yet. But, when it is released, I hope you will enjoy it!

Remember what Mr. Miyamoto said about games being delayed:

"A delayed game is eventually good."

That's also why development of Knights of the Silver Table is taking longer than planned. It's to make sure it is developed with quality.

Until the next update,

Be Strong and Courageous!

Development Update on Knights of the Silver Table - June 27th 2021

Greeting everyone!

Kyle here from Cenokga with a development update on Knights of the Silver Table!

I have really nothing new to announce, except that it is still in development. Though Knights of the Silver Table has had some changes and updates to gameplay.

Please see the new Trailer and screenshots to see some of these changes.

Please keep in mind though, that this is a pre release trailer with pre release gameplay that can change before release.

One of the biggest changes is the new resolution. Before, the game had a base resolution of 180 x 320, which was a little small for the multiplayer GUI and the gameplay features I wanted to add to the game. The new base resolution is now 360 x 640 which gives plenty of space for the multiplayer GUI and gameplay features.

It took awhile for me to actually decide if this resolution was something I wanted to keep, and after considering it, I've decided on the new resolution.

I also want to say thank you to all of the people who still have Knights of the Silver Table on your wishlist!

I currently don't have a release date, but Knights of the Silver Table has an estimated release date of 2022.

Thank you again,

Be Strong and Courageous!

Development Update on Knights of the Silver Table

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Kyle here from Cenokga, with a development update on Knights of the Silver Table and Battle of StarSpace Nebula.

Originally, I had planned to release Knights of the Silver Table to be released by March 2020, but due to new and other projects, the estimated release date for Knights of the Silver Table is now set to Summer 2020. Of course, it could be sooner than Summer (June, July, September). I’m excited to release Knights of the Silver Table and for people to play it, but it must not be rushed, as Mr. Miyamoto says: “A delayed game is eventually good”.

Progress is going well on Knights of the Silver Table. I have the story and the rest of the game already planned out. It just needs to be developed. And of course, music and artwork will need to be done.

Also, I just want to say that it’s not just because of the development of Knights of the Silver Table, which is taking longer than I thought, I also have other unannounced games that I’m working on at the same time as Knights of the Silver Table.

I’ll be working on Knights of the Silver Table next to push it to be released by Summer 2020.

Knights of the Silver Table 1.2.2 Patch

This update includes a fix to the respawn system and graphical changes to the grass on the dirt path.

Knights of the Silver Table Multiplayer 1.2.1 Patch

Hello everyone!

The issues in the Multiplayer Update 1.2.0 have now been patched!

With this update, to be sure the game loads and plays, you may need to select New Game so the save system can start a new save file with the updated code. But just so everything is working, it would be a good idea to go ahead and start a new game.

In some cases, you might need to uninstall the game demo and re install it.

In order to play in the multiplayer mode, you will need at least 2 Xbox One or other XInput controllers. Player 1 always uses the Keyboard or an Xbox One Controller. Players 2, 3 & 4 use Xbox One or other XInput Controllers.

The Multiplayer has been tested only with Xbox One controllers. Other controllers are not guaranteed to work.

If you still experience any bugs/gliches, please report them in the Knights of the Silver Table Steam Group here: Knights of the Silver Table Group

With the Knights of the Silver Table Multiplayer 1.2.1 Patch, a few things have also been changed.

Also, Steam just released a new feature called "Remote Play Together" which allows people to play Local Multiplayer games online!

This feature from Steam is still in Beta. Please direct any bug reports or glitches to Steam. Cenokga has no control over how Remote Play Together works.

This is a list of some of the changes:

  • The "Restart Area" option from the Pause Menu has been removed.
  • Changes to how the Player respawns in 1 Player Mode.
  • Minor graphical changes.
  • A notice was added when starting a New Game, that starting a new game will delete and overwrite the current save file. Even if you don't actually save the game.

Aware of an Issue with the 1.2.0 Multiplayer Update

Kyle from Cenokga here.

I'm aware of an issue with the 1.2.0 Multiplayer Update causing some unexpected gameplay issues mostly affecting the Multiplayer.

I'm currently working to get the issue fixed as soon as possible and until the issue I'm going to roll back to an earlier version of the game and the Multiplayer modes will be removed.

Please update to this version to continue playing.

Sorry for any inconveniences.

Multiplayer Update 1.2.0. is Here!!

Greetings everyone!

Kyle here with some exciting news!

The Multiplayer Update 1.2.0. is finally here!

And with this huge update, some changes have been made to the game. So to be sure the game loads and plays, you may need to select New Game so the save system can start a new save file with the updated code.

Please report any bugs or glitches in the Knights of the Silver Table Steam Group here: Knights of the Silver Table Group

Along with the Multiplayer Update some things have been changed with the game to make it function with multiple players.

Here is a list of some changes:

  • Added Support for up to 4-Players

  • GUI update. The GUI has been updated to display info for 4 players and has been resized to fit player stats.

  • Inventory GUI has been updated with a new look.

  • Some items and UI items have been updated graphically.

  • The ability to pick up and throw certain items has been added.

  • The ability to push and pull certain items has been added.

Although the Pick Up and Push and Pull abilities aren't really used in the demo, some items make use of it as an example.

  • Save System has been updated

  • Respawn System has been updated

  • Area Restart has been added to the Pause Menu.

  • The Area 1-4 in Forest Kingdom has been re done. Area 1-4 in Forest Kingdom was a little to much to go through and repetitive. It has been replaced with a more easy Area.

Until the next update, Be Brave and Courageous!
