Hello Chasers!

Here are the new premium items being added to KurtzPel on April 27th, 2022.

1. New ‘Season Pass 12’ will be added – 1,000 KP

※ Players can acquire the following items from Season 12 Pass: Checkmate Costume Accessory Cube, Checkmate Costume Select Cube, Supply Box (Checkmate), Character Appearance Change Ticket, Checkmate (Emote), Knight’s Advance (Emote), King’s Troop (Emote), AP +50% Boost (1 Day), GP +50% Boost (1 Day), Radiant Magic Stone, Random Dye Cube, GP, AP









2. New ‘Supply Box (Checkmate)’ will be added – 200 KP

Open up the new Supply Box (Checkmate) for a chance to acquire new Checkmate Costumes (All Karma weapons included) that emanate Chess Master’s Dignity.
※ Players can acquire the following items from Supply Box (Checkmate): Costume Weapon, Costume Outfit, Costume Accessory, Dye, Magic Stone, Resurrection Stone, Potion, Special Enhancement Stone



































3. New ‘Apostle of Greed (Raid) Additional Entry Ticket’ will be added – 20 KP
An entry ticket that allows 1 additional entry into ‘Apostle of Greed (Raid)’ after all 3 free daily entries have been consumed. The additional entry provides the same difficulty and reward as the basic entry does.
※ Players can purchase up to 20 additional entry tickets per account every week. The purchase limit will reset on Wednesdays at 01:00 AM (UTC+0). After Apostle of Greed (Raid) comes to a close, all unused additional entry tickets will be removed during maintenance on June 8, 2022.




April 27th 2022 Weekly Maintenance Patch Notes

1. Season 12 (End of Season 11)
- Season 11 will end on April 27th, 2022, and Season 12 will begin. Season 11 Rank and Season Pass Rewards can be claimed until the end of Season 12. Please claim these rewards before Season 12 ends.
- There will be a soft reset once Season 11 ends. The player’s Rank (Rating) for the new season will be determined once the player completes Rank Placement Matches. Rank placement will reflect the Rating from the previous season if the player has a Rating from the previous season.

2. Rank / Matchmaking System Revamp
Rank and Matchmaking System will be revamped starting from Season 12.
- Changed Rank to be determined by Rating
- Simplified Rank
- Added Rank Placement Matches
- Changed to allow all players to check their rating
- Added Normal Matches (2vs2)
- Improved alternate character Rank & Rating calculation
- Changed Rank rewards to be based on Rank at the end of the season
- Capture the Flag will be removed from Ranked Matches (2vs2). Deathmatch will be the only mode available in Ranked Matches (2vs2).
- 2vs2 and 4vs4 Event Battle modes that could be played every 2 weeks will be deleted. Emote cubes earned from completing quests for Event Battles can now be acquired through completing Weekly Battle Mission Quests.
- Emote Random Cube will reward one of the below Emotes with equal rates.
- Content: Crab Legs, Shuffle, Forgive Me!, Love You, T Pose, Mime, Pop & Lock, Sad, Like, Lit, Dark Meditation, and Salute.
- Normal Matches (2vs2) consists of Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Conquest.
- Improvements to Rating Management Prevention

Season 11
Rank S: if 3 days pass since last Ranked Match: -50 points per day
Rank M, G: if 3 days pass since last Ranked Match: -100 points per day

Season 12
Rank S: if 7 days pass since last Ranked Match: -30 points per day (up to 10 days)
Rank M, G: if 7 days pass since last Ranked Match: -50 points per day (up to 10 days)

*Rating will not be reduced below 1500 from Rating Management Prevention.
*Last Ranked Match will be checked daily at 10:00 AM (Server Time)

- TOP 10 Rewards
Players' rank will be displayed above their head in Eltheca for all players currently within top 10 rank out of all chasers. Also, all top 10 players at the end of season will acquire TOP 10 Profile and Title.

* Top 10 Profile and Title will only be given to players with S Rank or higher.

3. Changes to Battle System
- Players will no longer need to hold the evade key to activate Mana Evade. Mana Evade will activate instantly upon pressing the designated key or can be activated by pressing [Space].

4. New Raid Dungeon – Apostle of Greed and New Accessory – Costume Aura Added
- New raid dungeon: Apostle of Greed will be added. Apostle of Greed (Raid) can be played until June 8th, 2022 before maintenance.
- Players can queue into Normal or Hard difficulty based on the players’ Rank. Boss’ attack patterns, Boss’ HP, and the amount of rewards will be based on the difficulty.
- PVE equipment stats are not applied in raid dungeons. Players cannot use HP Potions, but Resurrection Stones and MP Potions can be used.
- Players will not be able to queue into the raid as a party.
- Players will receive 3 free entries every day. The number of free entries will reset at 10:00 AM (Server Time). Additional entry tickets can be purchased in the KP Shop. Synthesize special costume aura items using Apostle of Greed’s Lost Piece acquired through clearing raids.

[Announcement] New Raid Dungeon Preview: Apostle of Greed

Hello Chasers!

A new Raid Dungeon – Apostle of Greed will be added with the update on April 27th, 2022.



Apostle of Greed Raid Dungeon is a 4-player dungeon. You can select the level of difficulty based on your rank and play through an automated matching system.



You can enter up to 3 times daily and you will need an Apostle of Greed (Raid) Basic Entry Ticket to enter.
You will receive 3 Basic Entry Tickets every day at 10:00 AM (Server Time). They will be sent directly to your inventory.



After consuming all entry tickets, you can purchase the Apostle of Greed (Raid) Additional Entry Ticket to enter again.

Apostle of Greed is summoned in Bell’s Sanctum. Certain attacks cannot be dodged by Evade or Skill. You will have to use distinct features in Bell’s Sanctum to dodge certain mechanics. Find your way to victory and conquer the raid boss!

[Announcement] Temporarily Closing Tournaments

Hello Chasers,

An error was found in the tournament system for all global regions that prevents regular service for the tournament.

We are currently searching for the cause to fix the issue. Depending on the cause and solution, there may be a separate system maintenance. We will make a separate announcement when that occurs.

Until we can resolve this issue, we will temporarily close the tournament system.

[Announcement] Changes to Rank and Matchmaking in New Season

Hello Chasers,

We will be moving into the new season on April 27th. With the arrival of the new season, we’ll be guiding you through couple of changes that are brought to the rank and matchmaking system.

Rank Determined by Rating
In order for rank to properly portray the level of skill, your rating will now determine your rank. The ranks S, M, and G will be decided by rating instead players’ placement on the ranking board. The players with the highest rankings will be in the Rank UI in Eltheca.



Promo Matches Eliminated
Since rank will be determined by rating, the current promo matches will be eliminated.

Rank Simplified
In order to reduce the fluctuation of rank due to changes in rating from winning or losing, the rank system will be simplified.
- Rank will no longer be sub-divided into 3 sub-ranks. It will be combined into 1 rank.



Rank Placement System Added
A rank placement system will be added so that players can be quickly placed into ranks that reflect their skill level.
When players create a new character or when the new season begins, there will be 5 rank placement matches.
Once players complete all 5 matches, they will be placed into the starting rank for that season.

Rating Revealed for Everyone
Once you complete your rank placement, you can check your own rating.
In the past, only the players in A rank and higher could check their rating. This feature will be available for everyone who completed their rank placement.
After every ranked match, players will be able to check their increased/decreased rating.

Improved Matchmaking System
The matchmaking range expansion will be improved to match players of similar skill levels.
The range of matchmaking will expand differently depending on your rating, so players will more likely match against other players of similar skill levels

Party Play (Duo Queues) Disabled in Ranked Matches
Party play will be disabled in Ranked matches.
Since Kurtzpel Ranked Match is based on 2vs2, we believe communication and teamwork are large factors in determining victory and pre-formed parties have a natural advantage in these factors.
Adjusting the rating and matchmaking range was not enough to overcome these factors, so we have decided to limit party plays in ranked matches. We are very regretful to make this announcement, as we believed solo queues and duo queues playing together in a fair and free setting is ideal. We will make sure to consider different variables and improvements in hopes to incorporate party play back into the game.

Normal Match (2vs2) Added
Normal Match (2vs2) free of rating and rank will be added.
We expect Ranked Matches will have bigger pressure on players, with rating determining the rank and party plays being disabled. Normal Match (2vs2) mode is added in hopes to relieve this pressure.
Normal Match (2vs2) offers quick matching to match players on a wider range of skill levels than ranked matches.

Improvements to Prevent Rating Management
There is a system in place to prevent rating management, where players stop playing Ranked Matches in order to manage their rating. However, this applies a large pressure on certain players and leads to certain players getting matched with a large gap in skill due to their ratings dropping by a large margin.
We’ve decided to alleviate this by giving players more time before the rating deduction takes place and reducing the maximum deduction cap in their rating once their accounts are marked inactive.

Changes to Season Rewards
In the past, we gave out rewards based on the highest rank reached in the season.
This was to alleviate the pressure in managing ranks during the season. However, when some players reached a certain rank, they became unmotivated to play, causing other players to be frustrated.
Starting from next season, season rewards will give rewards based on the current rank at the end of the season.

Changes to Rating on Alternate Characters under the Same Account
When players of higher skill levels created alternate characters, they were matched with players of lower skill levels, causing unexpected harm to players of lower skill levels.
In the next season, alternate characters upon creation will be given a rating based on the character with the highest rating in that account.

When the season ends, you can no longer complete challenges and level it up. Season level up items can be used for the next season pass.
Unclaimed rewards from Season 11 will be given to you at your first login when Season 12 begins and can only be claimed before the start of Season 13.
Make sure to claim your unclaimed rewards before Season 12 ends.

Rank Soft Reset
Your rating will be soft reset once Season 11 ends.
Your rank(rating) will be applied after completing the rank placement matches in Season 12.
If you have your rating in Season 11, your rank placement matches will be based on your rating in Season 11.

Season 11 Rewards
Your Season 11 rewards will be based on the highest rank you reached during Season 11.


Supply Box Sale End
Please note that the Supply Box (Officer Uniform)’s sale will come to an end during the UTC+0 2022 April 27th (Wed) maintenance.

Supply Box (Officer Uniform) that are already purchased before the end of sale date can still be used after the end of sale date but once the UTC+0 2022 April 27th (Wed) maintenance ends, you will no longer be able to purchase the Supply Box (Officer Uniform).

1. Conquest Revamp
In order to have a wider variety of Karma and allow more room for turnarounds, we are changing the following:
- Conquest now takes the best 2 out of 3 instead of a single match.
- The team that has lost the 1st round now gets a ‘Vengeful Chaser’ buff at the start of the 2nd round. This buff will be gone in the 3rd round.
- Certain period of time needs to pass before a zone can be conquered.
- If there is a large gap of conquest points between the two teams, the team with higher conquest points will have a debuff inside the conquest zone.
- The team with lower conquest points will respawn at a faster rate.
- If the match timer is 20 seconds or under, the timer will stop if any of the losing team members are in the conquest zone or in control of the conquest zone.

You can play the revamped Conquest in Event Mode.

- Emote Random Cube will reward one of the below Emotes with equal rates.
- Content: Crab Legs, Shuffle, Forgive Me!, Love You, T Pose, Mime, Pop & Lock, Sad, Like, Lit, Dark Meditation, and Salute.

4. Improvements
- Improved character status effect to be more visible.
- Improved Chase UI to not appear if attacked when Chase was possible.
- Improved PVE reward window to show detailed descriptions of items that drop in that dungeon.
- Improved camera to follow ranged Karma when they Chase attack enemies off-screen.

5. Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug where quest reward UI does not close during PVP matches.
- Fixed a bug in Abyss Stage 14 where certain monsters did not [Enrage] at low HP.

- The team that has lost the 1st round now gets a ‘Vengeful Chaser’ buff at the start of the 2nd round. This buff will be gone in the 3rd round.
- Certain period of time needs to pass before a zone can be conquered.
- If there is a large gap of conquest points between the two teams, the team with higher conquest points will have a debuff inside the conquest zone.
- The team with lower conquest points will respawn at a faster rate.
- If the match timer is 20 seconds or under, the timer will stop if any of the losing team members are in the conquest zone or in control of the conquest zone.

3. Event Mode – 2vs2 Conquest


- Previous event mode Destruction will end, and 2vs2 Conquest will be applied for the new event mode.
- ‘Play Event Battle Mission’ will be added to the weekly quest which will reward ‘Emote Random Cube’.
- Emote Random Cube will reward one of the below Emotes with equal rates.
- Content: Crab Legs, Shuffle, Forgive Me!, Love You, T Pose, Mime, Pop & Lock, Sad, Like, Lit, Dark Meditation, and Salute.

4. Improvements


- Improved character status effect to be more visible.
- Improved Chase UI to not appear if attacked when Chase was possible.
- Improved PVE reward window to show detailed descriptions of items that drop in that dungeon.
- Improved camera to follow ranged Karma when they Chase attack enemies off-screen.

5. Bug Fixes


- Fixed a bug where quest reward UI does not close during PVP matches.
- Fixed a bug in Abyss Stage 14 where certain monsters did not [Enrage] at low HP.
