Yes, you read it right: you can play the Patch 1.1 today!
The new major update of Lakeburg Legacies is now available in Open Beta, allowing you to try it before its official release in a few weeks!
Note: The Open Beta is only available in english. Patch 1.1 will be available in French, German and Simplified Chinese once it officially releases.
But what's in this Patch 1.1? Well, good question: allow us to give you a little taste of what you can expect if you play the Open Beta right now!
PATCH 1.1
This new update is bringing a lot of new content to Lakeburg Legacies, including some much-requested features like:
Villager & Name customization
Castle expansion
Multiple Saves
New relationships
Dating UX improvements
Death feedback
New events
Congenital traits
Balancing
Villager & Name customization
Villager customization is now available in Lakeburg Legacies! We heard your feedback and we worked on this feature as soon as we can to make it available in this major update, as it was one of our priority.
Certainly one of the most anticipated features! You can now fully customize your villagers' portrait: from hair, to nose, beard and outfit! Also, a brand new renaming option is available to let your rename your villagers with some of the best names you may think of.
Castle expansion
The Castle has been entirely revamped, and has now two new buildings:
The Treasury: a new place to manage your taxes
The Chancellery: a new location to manage your villagers' satisfaction, depending on their class (Peasants, Artisans, Nobles)
Multiple Saves
It is now possible to have up to 5 different Saves on Lakeburg Legacies! This will make it easier to try different game styles and durations to find out which one suits you best. Or keep your old Save just in case and start something new š
New relationships
Villagers will now automatically share a relationship with their family and mentor or student. Memorable relationships will help you keep track of who used to be part of your villager's life before their relationship faded.
Dating UX improvements
We've heard your feedback and issues about the Dating system and we worked on making it smoother to use and improve your experience
Now, when you select a suitor, you can either go on dates as you usually do, or spend Hearts to have Tindra organize your villager's marriage immediately. This will be quicker but your newly found couple will only have a minimal Affinity (1/4).
Furthermore, weāve made the āAsk Tindraā area clearer: it now explicitly displays whether a topic is liked or disliked by the suitor. When you click the āAsk Tindraā button, only topics pertaining to the current date will be revealed.
Death feedback
Following your feedback, when a villager dies, they now keep their work clothes, and their tooltip displays their last job. This should make it easier to identify what building now lacks a worker.
More than 20 new death events have been added to the game and will also provide information about the main cause of death when a villager dies. You will now know what can be improved so this tragedy doesnāt repeat itself!
New events
You can now encounter 20 new events during your playthrough, in addition to the death ones! Some of them affect the new satisfaction system, while others allow young villagers to explore new work aspirations.
In addition, the conditions to trigger events have been adjusted, so itās now much easier to have them!
Congenital traits
This improvement should satisfy those of you who are interested in the genetics part of the game!
Congenital traits (that are passed from parents to children) are now upgradable. If two parents share a similar congenital trait, then their children have a chance of inheriting said trait from both parents, upgrading it to the next level. Of course, this will work with positive traits, but also with negative ones š
Balancing
ā ļøThe Stat and Skill associated with the Merchant job have been modified, so you might want to have a look at your building to make sure the villagers working there are the most efficient.
Adjustments have been made to the following parts of the game:
Economy
Events
Illicit buildings
Villagers
Dating
Relationships
A notable change is that we have adjusted the skills and potential of characters who can join your village through the dating or recruitment systems. It should now be easier to find characters whose potential better match the current state of your village!
The suitorsā age has been adjusted to reduce age disparity, and age difference now impacts the Affinity between two villagers.
HOW TO JOIN THE OPEN BETA
We believe with all this information you REALLY want to play the Patch 1.1 now, so here are the steps to follow in order to join this particular branch:
Go to your game library on Steam
Right click on Lakeburg Legacies
Click on āPropertiesā
Go to the āBetasā tab

Your current Save will 100% work on the Open Beta if you decide to keep playing it on Patch 1.1 but you will not be able to come back to default as long as Patch 1.1 is not officially released (which will be in a few weeks).
Which means, to play on the Open Beta you have two options:

Here is a new update for Lakeburg Legacies! We are bringing a lot of bug fixing thanks to the reports you made both on Steam and Discord.
As you may have heard, a Patch 1.1 is planned to be released in the following weeks. This update will bring to life a lot of features based upon your requests and things we have identified internally. We cannot tell you much right now but amongst the several additions to the game, with the Patch 1.1 you'll be able to have Multiple Saves!
BUG FIXES
Fixed a bug that made taxes affect the Morale of all villagers, instead of affecting only the villagers of the selected class.
Fixed several bugs making portraits get mixed up between villagers.
Fixed a bug that made children sometimes get a random hair color, instead of the hair color of one of their parents.
Fixed a bug that made single adults unable to have Romance-type relationships.
Fixed a bug that made the total of workers tracked by the "Let's get to work!" objective go in the negatives. This bug will only be fixed for all future games, sadly current ones will still be affected.
Fixed several bugs affecting the calculation of the production time, including in some cases a miscalculation of the impact of a villager's relationships on their production time.
Fixed a bug that made the mentorship gauge of a youth disappear even though they could still improve their stats.
Fixed a bug that prevented teenagers from getting a new identity trait.
Fixed a bug that made it possible to launch production in the Banquet without spending any resources.
Fixed a bug that filtered villagers by "Necessary actions" even when the corresponding filter wasn't selected.
The notification on the Barter button is now correctly displayed when loading a save.
In the Options pop-up, the shortcut to open the Couples menu is now correctly displaying F instead of T.

The icons for the Bothered, Disappointed and Disinherited traits now have the correct shape.
Fixed the value of traits affecting the service gauges, which in some cases were giving a malus instead of a bonus, and vice versa.
Fixed some minor bugs on events.
Fixed some small visual issues.
QOL
The Morale tooltip has been improved to make it easier to understand. Traits distributing Morale no longer do it on a permanent basis, but rather in a recurring way.
In buildings, a new filter now allows you to directly display all villagers (employed and unemployed) at once, ranked by their ā Potential for the job.
Villagers working a job that fits their Aspiration's corresponding skills can now earn Morale from their Aspiration trait.
BALANCING
Morale & Life expectancy
Decreased the malus of traits distributed by the four service gauges. Villagers affected by these traits will now lose less Life Expectancy and Morale, among other changes.
Villagers now have a higher Morale on average.
Events
The Drink or dare event has been simplified to give more player agency.
The Workaholic event now has more chances of being triggered.
Traits

Steam Achievements
Due to the game's recent balancing, some achievements on Steam were nearly impossible to get.

The Don Juan achievement now unlocks when one villager shares only Adultery or Lust relationships with at least 3 villagers (instead of 5 previously).
The Demographic wave achievement now unlocks after recruiting 35 characters in one game (instead of 50 previously).
Each kingdom needs a sovereign and decisions have to be made, whether it's to pair people up or decide where to allocate your money. People will be pleased, others will become increasily angry but your objective is for your kingdom to grow, to welcome more people and to deal with every day issues. Also what do you mean you don't have enough wood anymore?!
Today in that spirit, we partner up with the team from Brave at Night to create the bundle "Manage a Kingdom"!
Hello rulers! for this update, we're mostly focused on bringing you a much-requested feature: shortcuts! We've also worked on the stability in the relationships and we balanced the morale and the events.
However, before we jump on to the patch notes, we have a very special announcement to make: a 1.1 update is coming... soon!
Next to come: the 1.1 Update!
For the last 3 weeks, we've been working hard to fix the most urgent issues and bugs on Lakeburg Legacies. We've also worked on the balancing of the game ang added some of the most requested features (shortcuts, endless mode).
Thanks to your precious feedback, we've identified other areas that need to be added and/or reworked. This is why we're very excited to announce that we're working on a major 1.1 Update for Lakeburg Legacies
Since this will require a lot of work, this update will take several weeks to be released.
This also means that today's patch should be the last patch before the 1.1 Update, unless there are bugs that need to be fixed.
