Warsaw. The pearl of the north. This was the name of the capital of Poland before the Second World War.
Seventy-seven years ago, on August 1, 1944, the Warsaw Uprising started. After its fall, the Germans decided to destroy the whole city.
Nazi troops were ordered to plunder, burn and destroy tenement houses.
The historical fragment of the city was recreated in the Land of War game. We have an opportunity to visit it before the massive demolition.
On August 17, 1940
On August 17, 1940, Nazis who occupied the city of Krakow destroyed Adam Mickiewicz Monument. The monument, which stood in the main square continuously since 1898.
It was found in pieces shortly after the war in 1946 in the scrapyard in Hamburg.
