Landinar: Into the Void - Propulsion Update Changelog
Since the early access release of Landinar: into the Void last September, we've been working eagerly towards the release of our first big update. We are happy to let you know that the Propulsion update launched today, and introduces some big new features and brand-new missions!
Based on players feedback we've developed a complete overhaul of the flight model. In the update you can switch off your inertia dampeners and continue to drift at whatever velocity you have while making adjustment with the new thrusters! Along with the new flight mechanics there are a lot of new avionics parts, a new weapon type and a bunch of new missions, enemies and other content.
Owners of Convoy received a 33% discount coupon when Landinar launched in Early Access. Some people missed this opportunity, and Steam doesn't allow us to generate our own coupons, so instead we have worked out this bundle so everyone can benefit from the same deal.
You will get 33% discount for buying both our games, or a 33% discount on either game if the other is already in your Steam Library.

Flight model overhaul, part 2 [devblog]
In our previous devblog we talked about some of the changes we had in mind for the flight model overhaul.
In case you’ve missed our announcement, our Propulsion Update will launch on November 20th.
Check out this devblog for more detailed information!
Optional Control Changes
The basic control scheme of the game has not changed, but we have added a bunch of optional control features and mechanics that can be toggled on and off, depending on your preference and play style!
From left to right: Autopilot, Cruise mode, Inertia dampeners, Throttle toggle, Mouse aim, Mouse look
Autopilot: Automatically engages cruise mode and flies your ship to the set waypoint along the fastest route
Cruise mode: As it is currently in the game; a way to quickly travel from A to B outside transport lanes
Inertia dampeners: When enabled, your ship will automatically attempt to come to a stop and stop any sideways velocity. When disabled, your ship will continue heading in the direction of thrust allowing you to freely spin around and attempt cool tricks!
Throttle toggle: Toggles main/forward engines to full throttle
Mouse aim: The ship attempts to face in the direction of your mouse, useful for precision shots and/or a more relaxed flying experience
Mouse look: The camera pans to follow your mouse around, allowing you to look further away
Along with these optional control systems, we’ve added the ability to manually thrust sideways, allowing you to make fine adjustments, evade projectiles and obstacles, and make docking much easier.
New parts
Of course, you’re going to need some new parts to benefit from all these new mechanics!
Gyroscopes
We’ve added gyros to help your ship rotate. This is especially useful on larger ships (frigates and up) that have a lot of mass. They come in two sizes: a small version that needs to be placed in a wall corner, and a large one that takes two wall tiles and a regular tile with a passage through it.
Boosters
Boosters are a supplement to your main engines. They come in three types:
Wing Boosters Wing boosters are small engines mounted on wings on the side of your ship. They provide your ship with some additional low-end power, allowing ships (especially larger ones fitted with ion engines) to accelerate faster. On smaller ships, these boosters may be used instead of main engines, though it should be noted that they don’t provide any rotational, sideways or braking thrust.
Brake Booster Brake boosters are mounted in the same way as wing boosters, except backwards. They help your ship slow down and reverse. Again, this is mostly useful for larger ships where your main engines may not provide enough braking thrust.
Multi Booster Multi Boosters are also mounted on the side of your ship, and essentially combine wing and brake boosters in a single part.
Thrusters
Thrusters allow you to control your ship more precisely and help with manoeuvring. There are two types:
Side Thruster Side thrusters are already in the game, but now their functionality has changed. They previously had the functionality that gyros now provide, which made little sense. Now they do what you’d expect them to do: thrust sideways! Though main engines do provide a tiny amount of sideways thrust, without side thrusters you really can’t fly very effectively any more on anything larger than the smallest corvettes.
Omni Thruster Omni thrusters are the top of the line manoeuvrability parts. These large side-mounted thrusters can swivel 180 degrees, and thus provide precise thrust in all directions. They help your ship go forwards, backwards and sideways!
Main Engine changes
Besides these new parts, we’ve made some changes to the main engines.
Chemical engines have been left unchanged. They still provide plenty of thrust (at a relatively low top-speed), have decent braking thrusters, and provide a bit of sideways thrust. The afterburner boost is left unchanged as well; it still provides a lot of extra thrust and speed as it consumes fuel.
Plasma engines have a reduced braking and sideways thrust. You’ll likely want to add some of the new parts to your ship to be able to control it well. Additionally, the afterburner has been changed for a quick “pulse” ability. It consumes all your fuel at once and instantly blasts your ship to very high speeds!
The Ion engine no longer provides anything but forwards thrust; albeit at an improved rate with a very high top speed. Additional thrusters are a must on ships with ion engines. Additionally, it has no active boost or other ability; instead it passively increases your cruise mode speed allowing you to travel long distances much more quickly.
You can still mix and match main engine types, but only one ability can be active at the same time. You can choose which one by walking up to, and interacting with any engine or thruster on your ship and choosing your perferred boost mode.
The Landinar: Into the Void Propulsion Update will launch on Steam on November 20th.
Join us for a special devstream on Friday November 16th at 16:00 CET.
Announcing: Propulsion Update
Since our Early Access release in September we have been listening to a ton of player feedback on Landinar: Into the Void. After some deliberation we knew where to head next for our first major update: a complete overhaul of the flight model.
In the update you can switch off your inertia dampeners and continue to drift at whatever velocity you have while making adjustment with the new thrusters. Build gyroscopes and turn your ship around with the new mouse targeting mode to shoot enemies while going sideways, and blast away with the new plasma engine boost!
Here's a sneak peek of some fancy manoeuvres you can pull off!
Along with the new flight mechanics you can expect a set of new avionics parts, a new weapon and a bunch of new missions, enemies and other content.
In the coming weeks we’ll be showing more details on the update before launching on November 20th.
Update 0.1.6.81 - Small patch, love and Trading Cards!
While we're working very hard on the upcoming flight model update, we have a tiny patch for you today!
Changes:
Moved and fixed Nibiru's memorial in Golden Peacock Casino
Ryanne and Kevin found love, got married, and their names have been adjusted in the credits! <3
Added Steam Trading Cards - The six cards are of characters you meet in the game, and combining them gives you a badge and emoticon. So go trade those cards you silly person!
And lastly, we have a little sneak peak of the upcoming flight model overhaul:
We're working very hard on the upcoming update to engines and the flight model, so not many technical bug fixes this week. Mostly a few fixes to missions and a LOT of typos!
Full changes:
The Shell Game: New Cups and Ball player hanging out in the Y-post in the Libuscha sector. Prepare for a marathon session.
Libuscha station: Cisco and his 'secret message' has been expanded upon.
Libuscha station: NPCs hanging out there are more interested in each other.
Noctae Chemrock Mining Rig: Added an NPC who has information on an odd asteroid in Ankhet.
Added a Nibiru memorial to the Golden Peacock casino.
Nibiru's Rock: Collision and door fixed.
Fixed losts of typos.
Edit: I'm leaving the typo about the typos! >_<
New build in Beta branch - stable version delayed
Build .80 has been uploaded to the Beta branch (so you can try it out!), but the included changes/fixes also introduced some other issues, so we don't feel it's stable enough to release yet.
We were going to fix these problems this week, but due to illness and some technical issues we sadly don't have a stable build ready for you today! :(
We hope to be able to sort this stuff out quickly, and have a new build ready on Monday!
Update 0.1.6.79
We have another round of improvements, fixes and some new additions!
This update shouldn't break your previous savegame, but in any case you can still access the previous build through the Steam Beta's "old_build" branch.
