So the price for the game has recently been changed and will remain at this price moving forward. Don’t worry, for almost everyone it should be a lot cheaper now so if you haven’t had a chance to play the game yet this is a great opportunity to finally give it a shot. I just wanted to make a quick post and transparently explain why this change happened.
So for a while I had seen that several of the reviews claimed that the game was priced a little too highly and that its sale price was a better fit. Thinking that the game was priced fairly cheaply this made me take a look at the pricing chart to try and figure out what was happening. Once there I saw that Steam had recently released a new set of creator tools that better matches the price you set to other currencies. With this I could clearly see that the game was costing substantially more than it should in a lot of regions and quite a bit less in 1 or 2 others.
This should hopefully be rectified now and the game should cost (roughly) the same in all regions moving forward. And to make sure the price wasn’t being jacked up on everyone, I decided to set the new price to be more in line with the cheaper regions.
Hope the new price works better and makes the game more affordable to new players giving it a shot.
Winter sale discount!
Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays so far! Last Week is part of this year's Steam winter sale so if you were tempted to give it a try there has never been a better time as it is currently set to its lowest price. If you do check it out feel free to leave a review (the feedback is always appreciated).
Post Steam Sale Update
Now that the Steam sale has wrapped up I thought it would be a good time to make a quick post addressing everything that happened.
Firstly there has been a whole bunch of changes fixing various bugs and adding an option to turn off VSync in game. A big thank you to everyone who got in contact and let me know about any bugs they found.
Also a huge thank you to everyone who left a review on the store page, I know the lack of reviews was putting some people off from trying the game so I really appreciate you taking the time to write them.
On the topic of reviews it seems that the game has been pretty well received except for the price. I noticed a few of you felt it was too short for $20 and so taking this feedback I decided to permanently drop the price by 25%.
Ok that's all for now, I hope everyone who picked the game up during the sale enjoys it.
Small Update
I have uploaded another patch with some small quality of life tweaks and minor bug fixes.
One reported bug that I couldn't replicate when testing involved Brady teleporting backwards during the escape sequence on day 7 (thanks to Teddi for reporting it). I made the conditions that control his state changes less strict and repositioned him slightly in hopes that it fixes the issue. If anyone else experiences this bug or can find a way to replicate it let me know.
I also wrapped up the behind the scenes series last month. I'm not sure how but what was supposed to be a series of 10 minute videos turned into 45 minute podcasts rambling about games in general.
The episodes are as follows: 0: Introduction and why I made the game (Lots of rambling feel free to skip this one) 1: Building an early prototype and showing footage of some very early tests 2: Making art assets and showing off early concept art 3: Talking about content that was removed or changed and why 4: Bug fixing and adding the music 5: Getting the game on steam and my final thoughts Here is a playlist if you are interested in checking it out: Watch
